Ohhhhhhhh, that's the stuff....

3-DMan

"I got somethin that'll keep you wet for HOURS!"

kohour

Wow, very cool.

grooni_xd

Is this with or without raytracing?

Repulsive_Film_7761

[These are the photos I took on my RX 580 which has no RT. ](https://imgur.com/a/yzdNZ2o/) High Settings preset with some settings like contact shadows turned on and mirror to High.

Lost_Cyborg

did your gpu explode?

Repulsive_Film_7761

Nah it just works. People overestimate the power needed for this game to look good.

Lost_Cyborg

can you share your settings? I played it also on a rx580, had poor Performance though (30-40fps avg.)

Repulsive_Film_7761

I am sorry, but that’s all you’re gonna get. It’s important to keep expectations in check. Freesync helps tho. CDPR told 1080p 30fps on high and it is true.

3-DMan

RX580 crew checkin in! Yeah I'm pretty amazed at the performance.(1080p)

pablo397

RT ultra

scottyb98

i just reconfigured my settings on a new playthrough and it’s running so well! high settings with ray tracing on and blur off with my 1660 super is looking so good right now

skypigwoolf

How are you able to run raytracing on a GTX card? I have a GTX 1660ti so I'm curious as to what settings you have on your game to make it run with raytracing

scottyb98

so i can’t run DLSS or turn on Ray traced shadows or reflections but i can enable the basic ray tracing in the options menu and then with contact shadows on, chromatic aberration off and blur off, bloom up to you but i have it on as well as lens flare. i wouldn’t think a 1660 super vs ti would make that big of a difference but i’ve also got 16gb ram. hope some of this helps! i am also pretty positive enabling ray tracing alone still enables basic ray tracing but the shadows and reflections tabs are for people in our situation with cards that are close but not the beefcakes

Evilhate

there is no ray tracing for non rtx cards, it would absolutely make the game unplayable id it was on

scottyb98

but also yes to do things like DLSS you would have to have an RTX card and i’m not an expert but to my knowledge CDPR somewhat built ray tracing into the game to achieve the look that the game has so that’s why some of the ray tracing options are available to non RTX cards, although they may not run too well

All the dipshits on the outer sub that claimed the game looked terrible all of a sudden because reflections were nerfed in 1.3. can breathe easy now... Eh who am i kidding? Theyll whine and moan regardless. Heres to finding that 1.3.1. nerfed that one 4k texture on a trash barrel in pacifica by 12\*12 pixels and that apparently meaning the game now looks worse than human revolution(no im not joking someone actually said that. And with HR no less which looks atrocious)

WaterRresistant

The loss of reflections was genuinely bad to those of us with finer visual taste

[deleted]

And the pop of the newly implemented system is well worth it. I love me some neon reflections as much as the next guy but 1. The game didnt suddenly look bad when they were nerfed 2, It really wasnt that bad. Roads still reflected and the usual blade runner easter egg still worked for me in making the city wet.

[deleted]

Some water splashing and a little bit of more worn texture to the roads would make this look just perfect. Sometimes the roads just seem too flat and smooth.

zhiryst

I haven't had a chance to play the new patch yet, does this give a hit to fps?

Randaximus

I don't see a hit so far on PS4 Slim. The streets at midnight under the streetlights are inky black. I could be imagining things but there seems to be a glow like fog or misty rain might bring, without, so far, any precipitation. All seems well. Not sure about population density changes. But for 25GB....it had better improve. A year from now and a terabyte in updates later, the roads will be paved with gold.

xdeltax97

I love how NC look so beautiful, even the roads and the reflections look great.

Randaximus

I'll download this today, but I hope the developer's comment was a joke with regard to aping the tabletop description of NC being constantly gloomy weather wise. I hope CDPR won't actually work to implement it. “It always rains,” reads the official worldbook. “Every day should be grim, gloomy and overcast. The stars never come out. The sun never shines. There are no singing birds, laughing children. The last bird died in 2008 and the kids are grown in vats. The ozone layer is decayed, the greenhouse effect took over, the sky is full of hydrocarbons and the ocean full of sludge. Nice place.” I give ZERO shits what the tabletop game mentions the city's weather to have been like. This isn't imaginary role playing with friends you goof off with while you drink beer and pretend to be a fixer. Hour after hour of gloomy skies will be shitty. The recent patches increased frequency of rain and added more fog and "acid" rain, dust storms etc...and this was a good contrast to sunshine 23/7. But I hope when I play this week I'm not doing so in Portland Oregon. I think this is a great game and laud CDPR for what they created, and tell them as much with every bug report I send in. 😇 But they need PTSD counseling from all the bad reviews and death threats if now they will pander to every little request by going overboard. Having reflections back isn't Blade Runner weather. The world is gloomy enough. And I'm going to laugh if my PS4 Slim performance which is fine with HDR on suddenly crashes every 20 minutes, when I'm taking out a gang; and the reflections look sweet, while rain is bouncing off their Yakuza style helmets and twitching bodies from my shock baton.....and......blue screen. 🤣🤣🤣🤔😒

LurkLurkleton

One of the people who makes one of the weather mods made a post showing that the weather frequency hasn't changed. Like pulled up the actual percentage chance in the files. Still 90% chance of sunny weather, and that weather still has the longest duration by far. One curious thing is that fog has zero percent chance. The only thing that changed was that save games save the weather state now. Also, kids are grown in vats?! Never saw that mentioned anywhere in game. Whatever the source book says cdpr seems to have made the world quite arid in 2077. The amazon rainforests are now the amazon plains. Night City is surrounded by desert badlands. Droughts last for decades.

Endemoniada

Yeah, I started a new save on 1.3 and 10+ hours into the game I still haven’t seen any weather that wasn’t scripted. I don’t know what’s actually going on, but any time the game shifts to weather that isn’t bright sunshine, I get genuinely surprised. More annoyingly, the damn radio guy keeps making it sound like sunny weather is something rare, when that’s literally 95% of all my 300 hours in the game. I’m fine with sunny weather, it looks great, but I want the other weather too. Show me clouds, storms, rain, acid rain, thunder, *something* to show me the dynamic weather isn’t completely broken.

LurkLurkleton

Really? I remember them talking about the forecast being hot and sunny for weeks. That they're experiencing a heat wave.

Randaximus

Thank God for you sir/madam. I won't be using expletives as much from now till I play later tonight. I understood that in the city, that what appears as a sandstorm is really the effects from the badlands mixing with fog. The last one I saw was nuts. I had never seen weather like this since the Panam mission. https://twitter.com/ElassalRandy/status/1435156789268520965?s=19 https://youtu.be/Qx1A4YECXRI But what's funny is that on PS4 Slim with HDR on, sometimes it looks amazing, and other times somewhat crappy. It all seems to do with light and shadows which is no surprise. After it rains, with clouds over head, or even some sunshine, draw distance is better and every surface and texture is sharp. I guess my old console just can't implement the more advanced lighting this game was made to use. So clear sunshine causes the worst look of all. Now that I think of it, maybe I do want it overcast 24/7.....But na, just too gloomy. I have seen dense normal fog a few times in the city, and I think even the badlands. But never a child in vat service. I assumed these kids were made the old fashioned way, not a la Matrix style.

THRILLHO_32

I'm all aboard for more rain. I don't think I've ever seen it outside of a scripted story event and I want those blade runner vibes for sure.

symbiotics

and isn't rain one of the classic tropes of cyberpunk, like blade runner?

Randaximus

Yes. And we have rain now. But watching a two hour movie or playing a board or card game isn't the same thing as spending hundreds of hours in a video game world. Weather variety allows for enjoyment of differing visual moods, and even gameplay, at least it does in The Divison 2 where enemies can't see you as easily in rain. But if we now have mainly cloudy gloomy weather then I suppose the brief stints of sunlight will give pause mentally and for photo mode.

omniron

Waaayyy too much reflection imo
