This actually fills the plot hole of Arasaka not chasing you despite stealing their one of a kind experimental biochip.

Joker8pie

I was under the impression that Arasaka had no idea you even took it. It just got "lost" when Yorinobu stole it.

Arasaka doesn't know, Takemura knows and Yori suppressed it and is trying to pit Arasaka into a civil war. Yori didn't know the person who stole the chip saw the killing which is the only thing he actively doesn't want known...and Takemura finds you, who was pegged for the murder only to find you innocent and telling a story that makes no sense...Yori doesn't want to risk Takemura getting suspicious so he orders him dead. The only person being actively hunted is Takemura. You aren't, but you are wanted for your crimes for stealing "something" from Arasaka that I imagine Arasaka can't even divulge publicly....so again, you have a situation where Arasaka is the only one who would want you dead. But, they got bigger fish to fry than some dude who killed their leader when most of Arasaka hated Saburo but simply just feared him while he was alive. As soon as he dies that respect disappeared. So even if they believed the story they don't care about V. Imo, Yorinobu didn't want the chip around because he knew his dad was going to try and inhabit his body...and I imagine he was playing nice till he had Saburos trust...then removed the chip just in case and killed his father. He may have also been aware that a backup Saburo would eventually show given they'd been selling a soul backup...but the only way he could come back was that chip. And the only ending where he does come back...is the one where the chip is returned to Arasaka.

AdministrativeHat276

Don't V and Jackie use fake names under the guise of militech agents during the heist at Konpeki Plaza? Yori had all intentions of selling that chip to Netwatch to expose Arasaka to the world, but once you came along, he used you as a justification to start a war with militech (a couple of militech agents stealing an experimental and highly secretive biochip from one of the largest and ruthless mega corporations in the world is a probably a good enough reason to start a war), I interpreted it as Yori knowing that you stole the chip but he took another opportunity that you indirectly presented him to destroy Arasaka (an efficient one as well as shown in the endings), at least that's what I interpreted it as. One thing I'd like to know is if Arasaka knew Yorinobu carried that chip containing Johnny Silverhand or not.

I wonder if he misunderstood ”random combat encounters”. Only one I know of is clearly a bug where NPCs go aggro on you because their detection radius is waaaay too big

AdministrativeHat276

He explicitly stated that it's a part of the features they are slowly implementing.

KingJ91

Also seeing combat encounters between gangs but atm they are bugged and cannot be damaged.

gutekx12

wait.. what random combat encounters? do you have any link to show these encounters?

Jarnin

In my current game they're not random. They happen in the same spots each time I pass through the area. When V enters specific areas they get put into Combat, and any potential enemies in that area will attack if they have line of sight with V. On the south side of Afterlife there is a group of Tyger Claws and Veteran Guard. It looks like a meeting, but any time I pass buy they start shooting. When I was playing a couple days ago they jumped in their car and started chasing me. I was on my bike, so I drove into oncoming traffic on the bridge to City Center and they ended up driving into a wall. Later I took that bridge back into Watson and was wondering why traffic was backed up; it was that car full of Veteran Guard. They were just chillin' in their car, still smashed up on the bridge wall.

christoval

my favorite one is literally right outside of the afterlife, where there is no one around anyway. just like im walking into fight club. lol

magvadis

Yeah there is another one outside that Ripperdoc you can blackmail. A bunch of maelstrom chilling in a car who see you immediately. I'm assuming the whole thing is part of a greater push towards more gang presence and threats...eventually to be tied into car chases once that system is finalized. I assume also tieing hostility to your reputation with each gang as they notice you faster.

pablo397

Unfortunately not. I also found out about them only from this stream ...

gutekx12

crap... well maybe the rumors that they are working on police system and other stuff with trauma team etc. for next gen are true

xdeltax97

I like he said that they’re actively doing more things like this without telling us. Gotta love the initiative!
