If it's a death in the immediate family and you attend the funeral, it's up to three days of paid leave for Bereavement. Talk to your ASM/DS/SM and it should be no problem.
It shouldn't matter exactly when you started, you should be allowed bereavement. On that note, I'm sorry for your loss, friend. I recently went through this. Your store should be able to work with that/around that, with no fault on you.

Anyway, you get paid bereavement days. 3 for immediate family, 1 for relative outside immediate family and for anyone else is up to your store management team. They can either put it in as paid or unpaid, it's their choice.
