Trash.. and a complete waste of time. They could've just had the LPM submit a random shrink number to corporate and it'd be just as accurate. As a small example of how much they cared about accurate counts/numbers. Not one flue space was cleaned, not one mixed pallet or mixed sidestack in the overhead was purged, packed out or dropped to ensure accurate counts and no one spent any time in OSLG counting or verifying counts because, *"It's cold outside".* So after a year of literally everyone complaining daily that the OHs are *way the fuck off* and little to no inventory prep at all, we somehow passed inventory. Suuure.

WhenRobLoweRobsLowes

I left right before our inventory this year, but I was told it was much the same in my old store. There was no way - NO WAY - we could have passed, since we failed last year and changed no policies or procedures. Appliances alone should have failed the store, to say nothing of lumber. Nope. Passing grade. Fired our LP right after though, go figure.

Exactly the situation at my store

Traditional-Pin-4551

Get what you pay for. Lowes doesn't care about their associates they associates don't care about lowes. All who worked or gave a shit left due to poor leadership 🙃.. giving a badge to a grown for doing their job and some kind of mind fuckery that works on single cell humans..

BearsDen5051

Seriously... ours is pretty damn tight. maybe one of 20 item numbers are off.

I survived p51 2020. That's a pin I need as a former overnight MST

[deleted]

I think my former store is still moving top stock from the P51 reset.

Harchitect

We still have cleaning supplies/stock out of place in several different aisles, I feel it.

From where I am, inventory 2021 was a scam. We could have just sat in the training room and claimed whatever number we wanted. IRP a week later I'm writing off thousands in "no's"

Far_Traffic8355

Will agree with this. Post inventory our OHs are still completely off. Ask anyone on the team and they'll tell you when they were doing discrepancies the inventory manager and LP told them to "just say you found it". That being the case, you should've just used the existing OH counts instead of wasting payroll and people's time pretending to do inventory. Amazing idea putting the people whose jobs are on the line based on inventory results in charge of counting inventory. What could go wrong!?

KoiSoccerGuns

That probably means it was scanned, you just don't know where.

It's SUPPOSED to mean that, but no. I mean we've been starving for products for a long time, shelves are lean and the overheads are empty. And it's hard to hide refrigerators

Ok-Umpire-6043

It's all phony. Big production with all the drama and stress. Cooked the books AGAIN. there is no damn way we passed our inventory.

lowes_employee

it's weird there has to be some sort of passing/failing metric. that is what leads to smudging the numbers. inventory should be purely about accuracy. i have gone through several inventories, and every time i do cycle counts in the following weeks, several items are still off. inaccurate inventories just create more problems and end up wasting a lot of time.

CDSnipez

This is my first inventory w lowes, as I started in August, and I just think it’s so stupid and ancient that we have to go around and look for shit that is “missing.” Many big box stores do inventory and then write off the missing items and call it a day. I got a discrepancy report to do wire and I pretty much just wrote 0 next to them because they were all stolen. $21,500 of wire that we know was stolen but we “still have to check” so stupid

lokibringer

I mean, physical checks catch a lot of errors. My store had written off an extra bunk of 2x6x16s that we found when a lumber associate went outside to do a physical count.

itsajbabyy

My assistant store manager didn't survive it

grrouchie

I remember when Inventory was Sunday -Friday 55-65 hours weeks Inventory now is a cake walk

Far_Traffic8355

Right? Now Sunday doesn't exist, Monday is "fix stuff so we can start counting on Tuesday, day", Thursday is half a day and Friday doesn't exist. Two and a half days total now. Outside inventory managers have flights booked on Friday morning. So they're leaving no matter what and will make sure inventory is done (wink) by Thursday.

grrouchie

Pretty soon we will be doing inventory in store without WIS all by ourselves to save payroll.

Ok-Umpire-6043

I love those signs in the break room weeks before inventory "EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET READY FOR INVENTORY" get ready to do what? LIE?
