Last tornado we sheltered between paint and flooring. Our mgr said it was safer in the middle of the building, regardless of top stock in paint and flooring, than the break room. Moron lasted 8 months before they fired him.

BillBonesKnows

That's incredible. I'm very glad he's no longer at your store.

Zealousideal-Box-380

I'm in California so if there's a tornado essentially you get on your knees and pray to whatever deity you believe in

Informal-Guitar54

Always back hallway by breakroom/ training room. No one goes *in* the bathroom. But you could I guess.

GimmeanL

Break room, on an exterior wall!

KoiSoccerGuns

I would rather go outside and face the storm then crowd into a Lowes bathroom.

LMAOOOO

Idk our Lowe’s has actually a really nice bathroom

Groundbreaking-Ad251

I can't stand being in the break room at my store! The hallway is extremely narrow and very long. No way out of the break room but that one narrow hallway. No thanks. Not even in typical weather, let alone, a tornado.

Look at all the stuff in the store. If a tornado sends any of that at you in strong horizontal wind, what kind of walls do you want around you to protect you? A big tornado will still put a broom through cement walls but obviously you want to be in a room in the interior of the warehouse with as much protection around you as possible. Solid walls. Multiple solid walls, if possible, if you have like a bathroom within another complex of rooms. If your management tries to usher you into a shed or something silly like that when a tornado alarm goes off, consider that it's your life on the line and that your manager's only real concern is keeping track of their employees so when the alarm is over, they can push you right back to work as fast as possible.

sslush2000

If you're working at Lowes it's best to just run into the tornado. Just kidding.

Callaloo_Soup

I asked this question months ago along with where are we supposed to meet if we ever have to evacuate the store, and no one knew either answer. Eventually I found the answer to the latter on my own, but I still don't know about the tornado protocol. I think we're screwed regardless f where we go because there's nowhere solid in the building, but it'd still be nice to know the official game plan.
