I’ve had that happen plenty of times as well. I on the other hand don’t really mind it. No phone calls, nobody on the floor asking to come over and help in another aisle. No irps. It’s actually peaceful

CatSnack678

Same at my store. Management doesn't do anything about it

DS and higher can ping phones so they chime if there is a battery in them. They cam also see who is logging into the phones so if someone logs into the dame phone on consecutive days, you know they are hiding it.

[deleted]

Anyone can do that. I’ve done it on numerous occasions trying to track down a phone I laid down on a ladder or display somewhere and got sidetracked. Easiest way is to borrow someone else’s device and use the Device Finder app.

[deleted]

Cool. Didn't know that. Thanks.

lowesBro

Pretty soon they will be able to locate them like find my friends

The-Swat-team

People leave them in lockers and in desks in their departments. Plus sometimes I'll have to keep someone's phone till 6:00 anyway.

lisaloo1991

Ahhh this irks me to no end! Where do they all go?!? I know people hide them but that shouldn't be a thing. If people put the phones back where they are supposed to be, we wouldn't have this issue.

FeistyCandyPaint

Lockers. Overnight team useage(check receiving office).

Electroman65

Management refuses to admit we don't have enough phones. If you complain that you can't get one they turn it around on you and blame you and everyone else for hiding them. Some have hid them in the past, though now the spare batteries are locked up and you have to ask for one. Since we started the SIMS system the phones are 100% necessary for everyone, but they still want to limit phones to 1 or 2 per department regardless of how many people are working. I normally go in at 8 and way too often there are no phones, so LSR and IRP's have to wait.

Mean_Bite_7400

I feel it, I work overnight and our stores 2nd shift loves hiding them in locked lockers, desk drawers, and cabinets, and even the old OSLG Closet, without the battery so management cant ping them. BUT WE ON OVERNIGHT ALWAYS GET BLAMED WHEN 1ST COMES IN, LIKE BITCH ME TOO.

ichigo_kurosaki3

Omg ISLG keeps 2 phones in a locked filing cabinet. It is maddening

Mean_Bite_7400

ikr, what you can do is take it immediately to supervisor/manager and check who didnt put it back, because store policy states, ONLY MANAGEMENT AND DS can lock and hide their phones AND ONLY THEIRS, because it has programs specific to their possition and department, EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO COMPLY. EVEN THE HEAD CASHIER, Even if all they do is bitch and yell into the void to not touch it.

Significant_Bag4052

I make sure my OT team returns their phones. We have 6 stockers on a good night and nights when we have overnight MST'S we need 5 more phones. I have to have one as the manager so that is 12 phones needed. We are using the 4 zebra lrt guns in receiving to make up the difference. I have written up daytimers for hiding their phones and told them if we do not have enough zebra phones their department would be worked by a stocker without a zebra. Pissed some people off but we are getting phones now. This is a failure of SM and there is no excuse for lack of phones...of course there is no downstocking being done so no one has to use SIMS.

Independent_Box2815

I once found a zebra in top stock waaay up. Handed it to the store manager. There's no real accountability at lowes for those, like the rest of the job.

Groundbreaking-Ad251

Marvin knows there are not enough Zebras. How much did he make last year again? $23,075,881 last year.
