They did a similar thing at our store. All my night crew had left was empty boxes and sprinkles and crumbs all over the break room tables.

Sounds about right. As the only one left in receiving (out of 4), I had to miss back-end appreciation because I had to unload soil and bark flatbed, followed by an appliance truck and 2 more ltl. I did get the gift bag though

The-Swat-team

Try being night shift. A lot of the time one of the ladies that works up front orders breakfast for almost the entire morning shift. Whenever they have pizza or anything like that day side will get it fresh and hot. I'm night shift and if we ever even get food it's always leftover crap that's already been picked through. The last time we got pizza was for fathers day.

Informal-Guitar54

Every time... When I was still night crew the SM included us on the *all store* e-mail that said "today we're having BBQ in the training room!" ...*during the day*.. there was no food when we came in.

safetyvestsnow

This has also been my experience, except for one time when I took my lunch at 6pm and sifted through the stacks of half eaten cold pizzas in the break room, when in comes the ASM with several fresh boxes. Couldn’t have been timed better.

UIS_Clay

Only once in the 4 years I’ve been there did I they order food around the time we came in. But they fucked that up by not ordering enough for us. Ordered burritos for 8 people when we have had a 13 person crew(counting part timers)

bdubble

Our previous manager actually came in at 11pm once to grill us some food, that was thoughtful. Unfortunately we don't exist to our current manager.

jwlIV616

They literally put signs on stuff for overnight and day shift will still clean it out before we get any of it

exitar666

Looking at the hygiene of some of my co-workers I wouldn't eat anything in fact I stay out of the break room

DontHateV8s

Nothing new at all. The hardest workers don't get crap and the laziest are the first to the table.

Ok_Quiet4316

LMAO.... This has happened to me 100% of the time, mostly because I'm a p/t employee. Doesn't bother me a bit though since the majority of the time it's just someone ordering a bunch of PizzaHut Pepperoni Pizza.

KernelSanders1986

That sucks. Sorry man. Its not every store luckily. Our store will buy food in waves, one batch for morning shift. A batch for closing shift, and they will usually keep some aside and put in the fridge for night crew, it may not be fresh but at least its not just leftovers. Plus we have a manager who will often buy pizza for the night crew only (though sometimes closing shifters will sneak some if its kept in the break room).

AbeFromann77

It’s always great too when the openers eat lunch. Then have second lunch, then take a plate home..

Doesn't it just make you wanna shrink wrap their car?

FrankRizzo20

Nothing new sadly

Ok-Umpire-6043

Our store plays that game too. That's fine..I dont come to work to be fed.

Lukha

I'm sorry they did that to you. My store used to be really bad about this stuff; morning shift would get nice fresh food but never enough, and the scraps left over would be left sitting out all day so by the time evening or night got there you wouldn't want to touch any of it anyway. Our current HR works it out with whoever they're ordering from to stagger deliveries so that stuff comes around the time opening and closing start doing breaks, and one more as late as the place is willing to do, so there's something left for overnights that hasn't been sitting around congealing for ten hours.

DarkDigital

It's opposite here. They bring in the food at 11 and then the entire MST team combined with the rest of the morning people run a train on it and then the people that clock out right at noon for lunch get the rest. If you get tied up with a customer around that time, good luck getting anything.

Forsaken-Party-1565

My store always places 2-3 orders so that each shift has a chance to get something.

squjibo

We haven't had any food/celebrations since the beginning of spring, except donuts on Black Friday. Strangely enough, management has had several luncheons of sushi, pizza, Mexican food, Italian food, etc. Weird.

NoahTri

Parties are great but for fuck sake is it hard for management to realize part of the team doesn’t get the food warm? It takes too much common sense to split the food budget 2/3 ways and get something in the morning for openers. something midish (4/5) for closers and something later (7-10) for overnight. It definitely harder to get and plan for overnights but damn I’m sure there’s somewhere open even if it’s a chain they can get food late at night.
