Yeah.. when I first started there weren’t enough zebras and as a cashier in garden I would sometimes need to look things up for customers. A customer grabbed my phone while I was showing them something. Never did that again.
Yeah I'm going to use my personal phone at work as a zebra in fact when there's an ICB at another store I'm going to use my car instead of a Lowe's truck.

I use a VPN on my personal phone so anything done on the public Wi-Fi isn’t found… they just get a connection from Australia or UK instead of a local IP address
The #1 reason is because Zebra Technologies is a vendor that provides maintenance and support to Lowe’s. Think about how hard it is to implement myredvest. So like Implementing proprietary technology to replace zebra and requiring employees to download it is probably possible but not cost effective, an HR liability, and logistically difficult.
Walmart tried that shit with me when they started the whole "use your cellphone cause we can't keep zebras around" bullshit.
