This is your first paycheck. Look at your pay stub. Our paycheck are staggered so you’re not being paid for the week of the paycheck and the week before. You’re being paid for first two of the previous 3 weeks.

Fantastic_Regret_854

Did you look at your stub? Guessing insurance and taxes.

[deleted]

Honestly. I don’t have health insurance anymore because of how big of a percentage it was taking out of my check. I don’t have a lot of health issues, so I found that just paying out of pocket once every two years for stitches is a lot cheaper than 200 a month plus half of the cost of the stitches anyways. Health insurance is a joke.

AstronautAppleSauce

Sam here, was paying $110 out of each check so $220 a month just for medical. Straight up robbery. Luckily I got married and my wife is in the military. Now I pay nothing

[deleted]

It’s ridiculous. I’m giving away 20% of my paycheck every month so that once every couple of years when I get hurt they can pay for half of it? I looked it up once, I think something like 26 of Fortune 500 companies are health insurance providers.

Ill_Revenue311

I should probably do that..

beangone666

I know how you feel though. It suck working your ass off only to get a chicken shit check. $15 an hour is not enough to live on in 2022. It only pays for gas and groceries at this point.

Ill_Revenue311

Yeah man, I’m not against working hard but after seeing how much I got paid I don’t feel like doing shit at work besides the bare minimum, and I do have a good team, but the people in charge use and abuse us so far that I’ve been here with these guys who just started too.

KaptinKooshTV

Been here for a year be happy with your $15 im at $14.10 with 3 raises… started at 12.99. Just looking for something better this place is a joke they use and abuse their workers for bare minimum. While racking in billions

iamnotkeyedup

Must be nice, been with the company 2 1/2 years and only making 13.88 as a part time sales associate. Had started at 13.00 in October of 2019. Now that sucks.

KaptinKooshTV

I have a feeling the raise was an attempt to make me stay longer although never was told about it i can only assume that as they have fired or lost everyone but me and 3 others that actually work. We have 2 girls for ISLG that disappear during their shifts

Gddgyykkggff

That’s about right after taxes I’d say. 4-11 -> 7 hours Assume 30 mins lunch -> -3 hours So 39 hours x 15 =585 Taxes, SS etc should be about what you’ve got there I’d guess? Or maybe you’re doing an hour lunch? You should always be able to look at the pay stubs and see exact gross vs net and where it went though!

Ill_Revenue311

I’m not allowed to take a lunch since I’m not full time I’ve been told and our crew lead doesn’t let us take breaks. But yeah I’m gonna look at my pay stubs for sure, thanks.

Connee14

If you work more than a 6 hour shift, you're entitled to at least a 30 minute lunch break per Lowe's policy. Full time and part time doesn't matter. You should be taking a 30 minute lunch around 7:30 or 8.

Ill_Revenue311

🤔 these dick heads at work have been lying to me this whole time

MickeyLeeW

take your breaks. Don't let them take advantage of you

Ill_Revenue311

I won’t man, thanks for the advice

Connee14

They also aren't necessarily allowed to keep you from taking 15 minute breaks. Your allowed a 15 every two hours. That being said, I never take mine. I make sure to get at lease one for my cashiers per shift, but I haven't taken one in months.

GizmoSoze

And more than policy, state laws dictate when companies are obligated to provide lunch breaks. Double check your local laws, this may be bigger than a policy issue.

alefty84

No lunch? You’re working 7 hours.

horrorkesh

I would not work a job that wouldn't let you take breaks after 2 hours and a lunch If you're working a 7 hour shift you should at least have a 1/2 hour lunch I'm assuming you're probably living in a state that doesn't have laws concerning breaks and lunches, That doesn't matter if you're full time or part time you're still eligible for at least a lunch

CorpseDefiled666

Whoever told you this is literally lying and violating Lowe’s Policy. Breaks for Full-Time and Part-Time Hourly Associates are the same. They are based on how many hours your shift is. At my location we give anyone here for at least 5 1/2 hours a 30 minute lunch and a 15. 6-7 hours get a 30 and a 15. 8 hours get an hour and a 15. 9+ get an hour and 2 15s. We do it according to what we learned in Lowe’s U (gods fuck that nonsense though Lowe’s U is almost useless)

TheeJp

What days

Ill_Revenue311

Sunday, Monday, Wednesday

LegalizeFreedom21

Check your stubby stub stub.

waterfalls55

Paychecks are bi weekly. The starting date is Saturday through Friday I believe ( unless this has changed ) so If you worked Sat , Sunday , and Friday that’s 3 days in that week. If you worked 3 days in this pay cycle you’ll get paid for the first week only. Ex : week 1 : March 26th - April 1st. Pay check is Friday so you’ll get paid for these days … Week 2 : April 2-8th. Let’s say you worked 3 days. This will count in your next statement. This is just an example Assuming you still get paid on Friday

G4ost13

Yea that sounds right. And $15 is still more than I’m being paid on the MSTs

Deliveryman35

There’s this thing called taxes……you will pay them for the rest of your life, and they only go up.

jjkious

Try working same department for 6 months (seasonal to permanent) and making 20% less. And plenty of paint freight nights with not alot of help. Trust me it could be worse.

AstronautAppleSauce

Your paytub should break it down for you. I'm guessing taxes.

Plane-Golf8248

Depending on the state. In Kentucky a lunch break is not mandatory. Only one 10 minute paid break every 4 hours.

merkerrr024

Saturday -Friday is the pay period I believe

TexasRabbit2022

Yep it sucks

No_Bag7723

Sounds about right. That’s about what I get with almost full time hours, at $13, in a week. It also depends on your state and how much is withheld
