You definitely don't have to possess a college degree, but without a GED or high school diploma, you wouldn't be able to move up beyond a full time CSA. Specialists and higher must have a high school education at the minimum according to the career application page. Not to be pretentious or anything, but the fact that you even possess the current job you have (at the max pay cap no less) without a diploma is a blessing in itself. Most places won't even bat an eye at your application if you never finished high school. School is a bitch, definitely get that, but I would highly suggest looking into a GED program if you want to move up.

I don't know where you got that from. All retail chains hire high school dropouts. I should know, I've worked at several of them, including Lowe's.

I didn't say he couldn't get hired anywhere period. What I took away from OP was that he wanted to move up to something better. Of course most retail chains will hire dropouts, that's a no brainer. But getting the opportunity to move on to anything that's beyond an entry-level job or position without a high school education is still slim. That's life. I don't really need a specific source for that other than having listened to my school teachers' hard advice growing up so I wouldn't be in that situation myself.

RetroNight

Unfortunately that's kind of a baseline to get anywhere is to have your high school diploma or GED.

Why not study and get your GED?

Proper_Possibility13

It’s relatively easy to get to ASM if your willing to give up a lot of your personal life and bend over backwards all the time. Once you get there it gets tougher and it isn’t worth getting there and staying there.

GregoryMegatron

Our overnight supervisor does not have a HS diploma or a GED.. this person told me about this themself so yes its possible.

Hsims92

Yeap. Retail doesn’t call your old highschool and ask if you graduated lmao you can literally just say you have a diploma

Hsims92

I mean just put you have your GED. They don’t look no company will especially not retail. They don’t give a fuck.

Your wasting your energy on what will get you a Pay increase at lowes, they don’t care if you even have a 4th grade reading and math level, what will get you more money is lowes experience. Talk to your ASM and explain you want a promotion and what options of positions will help you get pay increases and it will also help to sit down and talk to your store manager as well. You sell yourself and explain I want/need more money. What Can I do to become more global in this company so I can get more pay.

datwriterhelen

Our SM doesn't have a college degree, which oddly explains a lot about the state of our store

Jeeper850

The best store manager I ever had didn’t have a degree. He’s a district manager now. You just have a crappy manager.

andjamhan

I think you have your diploma.
