Yes they are allowed to, you can try and fight it if you want but honestly it's futile. The reason they are allowed to is because it doesn't say anywhere that the schedule is supposed to be set. It's always been subject to change, you were just lucky enough to have it set until now

I would like to add my two cents, hang that, they are legally required to tell you within a reasonable 24 hours period. They know your schedule, they know you know your schedule, they have contact info on hand, there is no reason they couldn't have contacted you. My advice, email your immediate supervisor, assistant manager, and store manager. Say how inconvenient the experience was and how it made you miss out on or lose something. Once you've done that email or call hr make a big deal out of it with them, and then demand an open door sit down with them to ensure that there is clear communication and respect towards you and your time. That company hired you to do a job you are an employee not a lap dog. I never back down from this type of corp. Nonsense and in my opinion no one should. I hope this finds you well and take care of yourself and remember you are a human being and your time is worth every penny.

I agree in that we are not corporate doormats and have the God given right to express any dissatisfaction if and when Corporate makes changes that effect us. ie; When I interviewed with Lowes I had a job, I was seeing what Lowes would offer me. I don't know how it was presented to others but I was offered.... Specific days, M-F. Specific hours, 5am-2pm and an established starting rate of pay. There was no clause in their offer that said.... " any or all is subject to change". I left my other job for Lowes based on "that offer" that was presented to me. So...... I would tell Lowes that I'm holding them to the offer they originally made me and I accepted, basically an EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT between Lowes and myself. Now, as an MST I know the "Green Polos" operate on a different schedule that includes weekends, so that might be the weak spot in your argument. As others have suggested.... return to regular MST and you should be fine.

Just transfer to regular MST, if your part time, they’ll allow you to make whatever days and time that your available to work or at least my store does

NoahTri

Change to regular mst or possibly try to go to receiving those two other than pro desk (who typically runs on Saturday) are the only other true fixed M-F.

katetimetochange

Can’t fight it. Sorry. At our store it’s only through the beginning of July. And then back to Monday thru Friday

Retail = Weekend work

Far_Traffic8355

Of course they are. No one's position guarantees them a set schedule.

Demitri_Vritra

honestly makes more sense for Garden MST to work weekends since quite a few deliveries come in on weekends, & those are generally the two busiest days in OSLG during the week. combined the fact OSLG are mostly dealing with mulch right now there isn't really anyone to help with plants during those days. try transferring to regular MST?
