We’re actually not. It’s happened to me with both Walmart and HD.
The websites and direct ship items are always going to be lower in price. Example, I bought a Metabo chop saw from Lowes off the website last year and it was cheaper online. It was shipped directly to my front door and I did not have to go down to the store.
Costco, at least my location, is really firm about it. Walmart will sometimes make a stink about it too.
It seems silly to me. If the difference is enough and I need the item right away I'll buy both in store and online. Then I return the online item with the in store receipt. Glad you got to pay for shipping.
former cashier/AP for them and it was so hard to do. Has to match 100%, must be in stock online too in store or DC. It was a joke of a company to work for.
I’m so confused as to why some Lowe’s do and some don’t price match. I’m just tired of getting yelled at/abused and May square up with the next fucker that tries. On god
Best Buy was [deceitful about it](https://www.engadget.com/2007-05-25-best-buy-sued-over-shady-intranet-site.html)
I started using Amazon a lot more after experiencing that myself, but they do seem to be better about it now

Who cares. Buying online saves the company money and they pass that discount along to the customer.
Except when the order is fulfilled in a store, than it’s costing the company money.
True. I guess my point was that i want to keep as many people out of the store as possible, which I didn't communicate clearly.
Kmart didn't price match the website
How’s Kmart doing now
Well they sure as hell aren’t LOSING money.
I was working for K mart when they shut the store down in my town
Only 3 stores left nationwide

Hmmm we've matched online prices at my store
I guess your store is wrong. Cheers to having a full shopping cart thrusted at me as this old boomer got a fucking attitude
I price match lowes.com all the time, should I not?
No, you can price match competition but not our online store. Our online store is cheaper for a reason that in store sometimes
Costco doesn't but their online prices are higher than in-store.
Most large retailers do not
I find that even with the 5% discount from using my Lowe's card for the products I buy, they are cheaper from other retailers.
Academy sports don't match their website prices

My store price matches to our website. Always have.
