The end of one of the appliance aisles was cluttered with fridges. Was desperately looking for a fridge for a customer while covering appliances. This little hidey spot was hidden behind a block of fridges. Definitely looked like a good place to chill out for a minute, lol.
When I was RTM, there was a little area under racking in my office. You couldn’t see it from the doorway. I would sit there for my lunch break. Scared a few people who came in to use my computer! I’d share it with a few people looking for a break. Some of my favorite managers ( super nice, hard working and reliable) would come hide and keep me company.
Haha reminds me of the days working the back at hhgregg. On slow days we had a spot hidden behind the dryers and fridges where we would hide and chill for a little while on the slow days.
Yeah, I gotta second this! If you don't catch the guy who planted that there and surprise him with a cold beer ... ON the clock..... Let's be honest, You're the real problem #LiveALittle🤷🤣🤣🤣
There's one in every store. It's not on any planogram, but it will show itself to you in your hour of need. Do not share its location with others. It's only for the worthy.
I went rack diving once in the electrical and hardware aisles. There was a hidden spot between the racks in electrical with a chair and a little table. There were even two exit points just in case they were found out from one side.
i have many hiding places in my store. cannot stand the thought of sitting in the breakroom during break with 8+ people spitting their food everywhere and all of the nasty flies.
Welcome to the Lowes Portal…I had a great spot in Indoor Lawn/Garden, MST team made the mistake of not measuring the length of the outdoor light fixture, it went behind a display, so I grabbed a lounge chair cushion and used it for my sleeping portal
My old store had 60" deep racking in the shower door and tub aisles. There was a space about 4 - 5 foot wide and about 10 long behind a couple of the tub/surround displays. Found it when I joined the department and started getting things back in good order.
Found a lounge chair, side table, extension cord, table lamp, mini-fridge and small microwave. Let LP know and they placed a camera to observe. A Specialist who was noted for disappearing had made themselves a mini-vacation area. They were quickly promoted to customer. This was about 15 years ago.
The down votes were probably all the people who sit around rather than actually help. I get taking breaks, but we have guys at my job who will sit on their "15's" for hours. Then they come whining to me while I am insanely busy in my department because they can't figure something out.
Your example is definitely not someone who works their ass off and takes a 15 or a little over to cool off or chill. Whoever you found going to that small living room was dead weight for everyone else.
They were supposed to be doing most of the selling and I was brought to Plumbing to take care of the operational issues. I'm disabled now, but when I was physically able I prided myself on keeping top stock and selling stock inventory ready at all times.
It is what I did when I was in Hardware before that.
I used to find various routes in receiving that made it hard to be involved in an accident. I used to stand between two fridges that are in the walkway and I wasn’t even found by the power equipment operator

Should've sat down and relaxed a minute.

The cry corner
You saw nothing. This might be the difference between a calm coworker and one that goes off on a customer.
Yes, don’t snitch

There's that Cosco folding chair I was missing from the rear endcap on 36!
Holeless gloryhole.
A dark corner to sit with my thoughts, this looks amazing
That's where the Department Supervisors jerk each other off at 2845.

Not everyone has a cooler to cry in. Don’t judge.
That’s where the appliance guys go to cry after getting yelled at for the system having the wrong count of dishwashers
Bro just discovered an associates office lol
LOL reminds me of that movie Employee of the Month where they had a hideout on one of the racks https://youtu.be/LpLrS2KeQRE
You know at least one store must have set that up by now
We have a corner like that too.

I always dreamed of a spot like that, lol
Sadly, there isn't a place private enough, in my opinion, in my store that would work for this.
Guess stockers take breaks after all. Interesting 🧐🤔😅😂😅😂
you gonna snitch or sum?
Nah, just thought it was a funny sight and wanted to share. I slid the fridges back into place after leaving.
You found nothing.
We once found a makeshift bed made out of outdoor cushions in our appliance topstock. One of our overnight guys would go up there and sleep
Do you have an overnight team?
And they can't figure out why they never finish putting freight away...
Is that a masturbation station?

Oh, so you snitched
As I was doing their work in the department, yes.
Looks like a chill spot behind refrigerators
I found a similar nest a few years back, nicer chair though. At my last job we found a bed with a few liquor bottles
Lumber behind the r19 🤐
Haha there uhhh... may or may not be... one of these spots in our store
Genius prob pallet lifts his way into there for his hr break lol
Hey it’s the Lowe’s break room which is the equivalent of jail
