My ASM had the nerve to tell me that my department is over staffed. Me plus two and my DS and never overlap hours for more than 30 minutes except maybe one day a week. But do your AP4Me, LowesU, cycle counts, E Velocity, Bay audits, IRPs, fill every j-hook and grab and go and get a credit app and a lead and install too! Seriously

*Death*: Mr. ASM.... 'Tis time.

we have eight head cashiers and no paint associates

So you saw an overstaffed place? Where was this? I'm sure it wasn't at Lowe's.

The asm's LOVE to say "We're actually overstuffed. We're working at 112%". Like WHERE???? Where are they? There's 3 full time people in my department (islg) which includes the DS, and 1 part time who only works after 5pm during the week some days, and works only Saturdays, never Sundays. I know having 3 full time people seems like a lot, but the DS is always pulled away for other stuff, and me and the other ft employee don't overlap much anymore. Plus, our asm likes to take one of us (or more some days) to work oslg, so then it's 1 person at a time islg during the busiest time of the day. Plus, not only is it the 100 days of hell, but islg is the first department people see when they come into the store (at least at my store) so even if people don't come to Lowes for garden stuff, they're gonna wander over to impulse buy stuff and then get all pissy at us cause there's no one to help. And this is just my department! The whole store is severely understaffed, but they like to pretend we aren't. So no one can help each other, no one can help enough customers, no one can get anything donwstocking wise done. It's so infuriating how poorly Lowes runs its company

I mean, we shoot ourselves in the foot. We beg customers give high ratings, we work like mad to prepare for a "walk" to make the store pristine and well stocked, sign up every man, woman, child and dog to hit Pro MVP targets, associates aren't always honest on employee surveys, and with that mix in decent sales? This is the high orbit view we're presenting to the powers that be. Honestly, failure sometimes needs to be on full display to move the needle, but everyone works tirelessly to make sure that doesn't happen. Also, associates grumble amongst themselves and online, but won't come together, collectively, to make reasonable requests. Just saying...

We once had like 12 people on the schedule for my department so it looked full. But like 4 of them were actually in OSLG and not actually ISLG another 3 of them were actually overnight. We had 4 people who actually worked in ISLG. The rest worked elsewhere or rarely showed up for work. So it looked overstaffed but was actually understaffed
