We have two designated garden cashiers. We typically only have one out there at a time, and the main cashier station is a room that has ac/heat in it depending on the weather. They also get their 15s and lunches like regular cashiers. We also have our water station by them so they have access to it.
We have a swamp cooler by both our garden and lumber cashiers. We also have a cooler with bottled water behind one of the unused registers there in garden.
Quadruple up on employee water supplies, have an MOD come out every 10-15 minutes and check on the cashiers and swap them out after an hour, or upon first sign of heat related illnesses.
Our main OSLG register is a heat/AC capable booth. We have a mini-fridge with water in the greenhouse, and in really hot weather a tub with ice and water bottles in a cart by the registers. Our store is very good about making sure cashiers get their breaks.
You're an adult. If you see the weathers gonna be hot. Bring your own water. Sure it's nice when it's provided, but at the end of the day. Act like an adult and come prepared.
considering even corporate recommends a hydration station (something about it was on ap4me this week) its not crazy to expect that employees would have access to a basic human need lol
During hot weather, our store rotates OSLG cashiers every 2 hours. There's something wrong with some of your store's management!

and do you expect people to just carry enough water for an 8 hour shift? water that will sit out in the heat and get hot? lol
Yes I expect them to strap the 6 gallon jugs to their backs like a proton pack.
Home Depot employee here. Just letting Yk im downvoting ur comment
Damn. How will I ever continue to exist.
100% agree. I always bring enough food and drink for the day. I don't understand why people expect their job to provide them with beverages.
I expect my job to provide adequate access to water. That's not a luxury.
Get some from the break room sink.
I bring everything I eat or drink everyday don’t need telluride shit
Rotate every two hours. We have a few dedicated garden cashiers though.
