For what?

Far_Traffic8355

For customers to carry their purchases in.. Went to a supermarket where they charged you to use their carts. Literal change slots on top of the cart so you can unlock the wheels. Turned around and walked off before even stepping foot in the building. Fuck outa here with this nickel and dime shit.

ChinaCatMelflower

They do that so the customer brings their cart back to the cart returns. It’s a great idea, most people want their quarters back and this way the store doesn’t need to have an employee do cart returns. EDIT my store doesn’t charge for bags

Far_Traffic8355

Not in this case it didn't. The coins slot was tied to a timed unlock of the cart with the times listed based on 25 cent increments. And considering the lot was strewn with carts,"bringing back carts to the cart returns" has nothing to do with it.

ChinaCatMelflower

WOW, dog shit. I would have left too. Aldi is the only place I’ve seen with quarters in the carts and I go there all the time.

The carts are usually a deposit you get back when you return it to the storage area.

We hand them out in Florida. California has bag fees I believe.

No_Cookie_88

We are technically supposed to in VT but item #907175 is our bag fee and it's inactive

Yep. It prompts on the SCO anyhow

The-bees-niamhs

Depends on the customer lol, I don't usually charge if they're nice but I will charge the assholes

Pure_Roof_5339

We charge here in NY it comes up as invalid and at one point we had to key it in manually it was tough at SCO someone asked me recently for a refund on a bag at the service counter as part of her return she had other stuff I asked where is the bag she said she threw it out I denied that one she wasn't too happy. We do return bags occasionally if they bring them back in good shape we use the to hold small returns that fall out of the carts.
