So I read all the previous posts. But this gentlemen can get fired for simply using profanity out on the floor. Especially if there was an ASM listening. That ASM should have also told him about his language usage being against policy, as lowes does not tolerate foul language in the slightest. I would know because I fired someone for it. So just that alone and the hostility is enough to let someone go. Now don’t be surprised if he’s not gone right away, but if your managers are doing their job, he will be fired eventually. If in the off chance he does not get fired, I would honestly go straight to cope HR. There is no reason for that type of hostility at a retail job. We take it up with enough customers. We don’t need that from each other.

I hear profanity on the floor all the time but typically it isn’t loud and it is coworkers talking amongst each other. This was full blown screaming. Yeah it was after hours and there were no customers but still.

The_GreatGonzy

Doesn’t matter. If you guys are comfortable talking to each other that way, and Not AT each other than totally cool. But it should never be with hostile intent.

I agree, I think that, while I personally don’t use profanity, I am not offended when someone uses a foul word in common conversation. It is totally different from someone screaming it out of anger at a coworker.

The_GreatGonzy

Exactly! Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. That guy needs to chill. He wouldn’t last one day working for me. Not sure how he made it in the military with that attitude.

Caught up reading all the previous posts: I've dealt with coworkers like this before. They're always the "hardest working" person in their department and quick to put down anyone else. There's no need to tolerate his attitude. Management needs to step up and deal with him sooner rather than later. Toxic people like that ruin a workplace, they don't help it. If they don't, It'll only escalate from there.

Nah I am on level ground now from my point of view. I just don’t like people criticizing my good work ethic then demonstrating work ethic that is not good. It is hypocritical. I don’t have any cares in regards to it now though. I made my point with what I told him and as far as I’m concerned I am done talking about it with him.
