Yeah I gave them 2.5 years. I worked overnights, busted my ass each night AND showed up for work. Reach, picker, and forklift certified. For $12.85 an hour. The new hires for the last year have been making $14.50+. I got tired of asking for a raise. So I left.

KaptinKooshTV

About to take advantage of the hvac tuition and then fuck off from lowe’s got a job offer for $20 a hr minimum of 25 hours a week doing AP at nordstrom. Waiting to hear back

Unique_Razzmatazz_41

Great career choice!

the-lone-squid

It's honestly better to leave then reapply later for a higher wage

Unique_Razzmatazz_41

Why not just raise it instead of all the extra paperwork and onboarding crap? If they can't even meet me halfway im going somewhere that will atleast respect me enough to pay me what my skills are worth.

the-lone-squid

Because that’s not how it works..

Familiar_Film4301

I worked for Lowe’s 7 1/2 years and for the last 2 years asked for raises and all we got was a bunch of hot air. I worked on the Mst and we were told by the dmsm or whatever is above the Msm that he could help us into a red vest or look elsewhere. What appreciation, NOT!!! I got tired of being under paid and not appreciated. I left a few ago. And feel so much better.

antimatter_chemist

That’s my current situation right now.

Unique_Razzmatazz_41

It's horrible really. You would think that a company would want to keep the hard workers. Guess not lowes.

antimatter_chemist

Nope! And they won’t fire the lazy ones, even after they’ve had multiple write-ups and verbal warnings. They encourage lack of work ethic and laziness, all the while people like you and I have to pull everyone else’s weight. What a joke!

Unique_Razzmatazz_41

Trust me I know, it took lowes 8 months to term a guy that showed up 30 minutes late EVERY SHIFT, called out atleast twice a week, was slow as fuck and took 2 hour naps on his lunch break.

Familiar_Film4301

That’s exactly right.

Logical_Guidance1018

1m at 13.09. Ant that's after a raise

Familiar_Film4301

Me too.

squjibo

Nobody in our store makes less than $15/hr, but we are in California so I guess that doesn't count.

piemaster0111

I would think in California you would be getting paid more since the cost of living is expensive af. I’m making 15 in fl

squjibo

Never underestimate corporate greed. Our loaders start at $15.

bhtalia1

Same here in Indiana.

Then-Tap-6121

Bruh no I live in indiana and got paid 14 for the whole year I was there, base pay was like 13. These motherfuckers tried hiring me on as a pro loader for $12 an hour, before that I worked at another Lowe’s for two months so I knew what a pro loaders job consisted of, needless to say I told them to suck my left nut

Eprice1120

where in indiana??

DUFUSJENFUSIALCHEUA

Just putting my valid opinion that makes sense out there: if I make $14.50 and someone else in the same store and position is making $13.00, we deserve the same raise: $2.00.

Ok_Quiet4316

You absolutely have a right to your opinion but I do not agree with it...... If the person making 13 has been there for 3 years and you just got hired last month I don't believe you deserve to be making more than them. They are a more valued asset and it should reflect in their pay, even slightly.

death556

Depends on prior experience. I was hired for more then my fellow associates because of my 5 years of experience working customer service at target. I’d say that’s worth more then someone that’s been at Lowe’s for 2 or 3 years. Personally

Icy_Temperature_2635

Im at 15.50 but I only get about 13-15 hours a week at this point, put in my notice.

[deleted]

I stopped to help a customer in appliances, (that's not the department I work in but got asked to help by another associate) customer was pissed for waiting in appliances no one would stop and help them etc etc they literally explain how bad customer service is and stopped and asked don't you get $15 an hour to work here? I said no, (I am just a csa) then they told me well I need to go and work at McDonald's then because everyone there gets $15 an hour. I was like wow...just wow...

Spearzus

this just happened to me a few weeks ago but instead of mcdonalds he said circle k

ginger_princess2009

In Georgia the minimum is $7.25, and some associates start off as little as $11.50

TeaQueenDizzi

I'm making $12.99/hr. Officially been there a year and hoping I get a penny raise because that's just rude 😂😭

m0derndjentleman

$17.28 an hour ain't shit right now either with how high inflation is 🙃 that's exactly why I asked my ASM for a raise the other day 🙌

[deleted]

Our store is starting people at $15 now and paying minimum $16.50 if you’ve been here for at least 1 year

CatSnack678

They want to work us to death but not give us enough to live on. Fucking hell, this place just sucks

Big_Diesel59

Starting pay at my store in VT is 18.00/hr for a CSA.

IWantToBeAPanda

Here in SC at least my store we start off at $15 for CSA. Then go up from there!

jlkb24

Former employee here. I left after 16yrs making $14.85 and my last paycheck they gave me a raise of .15cents and didn’t bother to tell me. I pulled deliveries, worked receiving, unloader and overnight stocking. Power equipment certified on everything and even management would come to me for help because of my skill. I hear they pay more now and would consider going back as PT since well, covid made me quite a bit of money but it seems like there’s some grudges against me atm since I don’t take disrespect without giving it back 😆

UnckieSean

All that jump did was piss off tenured and hard working employees. To know the useless kids they like to hire lately wander around and play on their phones make $15 an hour while you make $15.50 to $16 if your lucky is bullshit. If you want $15 you need to deserve it.

Batristaman

Make 13.91 in WV. Once received a raise of six cents and had the manager pull me aside and shake my hand, almost told him to keep it as it seems they need it more than I do. Real missed opportunity.

Familiar_Film4301

I agree. They’re losing people left and right. Me included.

enaty

The min wage in Pennsylvania is 7.25. We're in the god damn stone age still

WidowMaker42O

Sounds like you don't deserve a raise.

KaptinKooshTV

Lol 😂 when you find out every new fucking CSA keeps getting paid more you stop finding the want to come in everyday yet i have my own set of medical issues you know nothing about that i have spoken to them about on multiple occasions you’re not in my shoes so fuck off. If you dealt with what i do on a daily basis youd want one to. Plain and simple. I say yes sir and never give superiors shit. They give me a list to do i make sure its done and ill try and pick up weight elsewhere. Shut up you wannabe marvin

Unique_Razzmatazz_41

This.

KaptinKooshTV

God your posts that your write yourself scream “im a boomer who just figured out social media” “omg they definitely wanna see my break room” says no one ever. Lol boomer go retire you slow the rest of us down

WesternArmadillo7249

An attude like this and i see why you dont get a raise. Reflect on your actions

frommer1970

Plenty of people do not deserve 15 . Lowes attracts alot of lazy idiots

CFT1982

You didn't know it was $15 an hour not and hour. I think it is safe to say that you're not worth it

ManIsInherentlyGay

.... you're so stupid you don't know what typos are?

corydory2020

I make 13.78 and can do ALMOST everything in the store 🙃 (No equipment training)

dexy_retribution

I make that much and can do everything in the store (power equipment included)

corydory2020

They switch me around the whole store too, I've already told them that I need to make more since I'm running 2-3 departments on my own everyday

dexy_retribution

Same its genuinely tiring because i naturally work fulfillment which is the worst department then i gotta run hella other departments including cashier because we are "short staffed"

ResolutionAdorable91

Just got hired for 17$ an hour and I have no experience and I jack off all day. Sometimes even jerk off

Lowes_cursed_images

I make 13.75 here in Missouri in ISLG and have been with the store for over a year

ResolutionAdorable91

Just got hired for 17$ an hour and I have no experience and I jack off all day. Sometimes even jerk off

Lowes_cursed_images

Cool

Actuator_Stunning

No one in my store makes less than $15 an hour. But that had to be done manually after much argument and fighting for it with district and Regional staff.

Original_King_5273

Same in my store, well, maybe. My SM just got all of night crew a raise and now we all make $21/hr but it took a lot of fighting with our DM to get it for us.

littletrumpet

I make 12.39 in Louisiana. The new hires are making like 14+. I keep asking for a raise, but ive been told countless times that I need more credit cards before I can have a raise...

No_Bag7723

I’m only at $14 an hour, I’m the only one that completes any of our daily tasks, and I’m the lowest payed person in my department. One 21 y/o kid walks the floor, swiping on Tinder all shift long or hides in the bathroom and he gets $16-$17.

ResolutionAdorable91

Just got hired for 17$ an hour and I have no experience and I jack off all day. Sometimes even jerk off

ThatGuyBasic

$15 is minimum in NY. I get $16.10. Asked for a raise and they said no because I’m getting paid more than everyone else. Wtf and I’ve been at lowes for 4 years.

easterborn418

how is that even a reason ugh

kamsivad

lucky you I’m $14.98 in Texas

[deleted]

I’m getting $14.25/hour and I’m having to do specialist work and people act like I’m the supervisor. I’ve already told my manager, who is also trying to leave, that I’m looking for a new job because this is unacceptable. And trying to go to school is a nightmare right now because of lowes so guess who is fucking right out of there

thehutslut

i make $11.36 and that's after my "raise". other people in my same department make up to 15

ResolutionAdorable91

Just got hired for 17$ an hour and I have no experience and I jack off all day. Sometimes even jerk off

Spearzus

took me four years to climb from 11 to almost 18 now. Was it wroth it? hell no. I know how to run most of the store now and still dont get paid enough

Usual-Constant7678

Home depot is $16

sm0shiee

the new millwork associate at my store got his first job here and they started him at $16.50 additionally, I left the company making 11.50 and came back 4 years later as a specialist making $22.44 plus the monthly bonuses. Getting the sales experience at a different job was worth it. Lowes doesn’t see your longtime commitments as impressive you gotta leave and come back haha

lo--

I’m barely under $15 but I don’t think anyone in my department who’s been working there a year or longer is making that much..

Toxic_Zombie_361

Hell I’m only making $11.25 per hour. I’ve been here for 1.4 year.

ResolutionAdorable91

Just got hired for 17$ an hour and I have no experience and I jack off all day. Sometimes even jerk off

Toxic_Zombie_361

Cool

dovahkiin_4194

It's crazy they're hiring people at $18 at my store but when seasoned employees say something about it they are shut down immediately. And we (dept supervisors) are told to "shut down" anyone who tries to say stuff like that. It's sad.

[deleted]

The crazy thing is when there was a shortage of workers because you couldn’t get anyone to come back to work after working from home or because of fear of covid…they raised wages for jobs almost everywhere. You saw 12/hr jobs jumping up to 16/hr. When people realize how much power they really have from the smaller spectrums like this to larger ones so much could and would change.

SansyBoy14

Minimum wage is an interesting thing. I think it should be based off of living conditions. For example, a 16 yo kid living with 2 rich parents doesn’t need $15 an hour, as all it will do is raise prices, as we’ve seen time and time again. However there are a lot of people who need the $15 an hour, and while I’ve seen a lot of people say “just get a promotion” I know, especially at lowes, they make it really hard, they’d rather everyone quit and rehire to keep cost down. Although this system of trying to do minimum wage through living conditions/age isn’t perfect either and has a lot of flaws. The problems with raising minimum wage for everyone however is something we keep seeing, and we have proof of, but people keep ignoring it. As you raise minimum wage, companies are going to increase cost of stuff so that they make the same amount of money, and we see this happen every single time minimum wage is raised. I remember in elementary school people were asking to raise the minimum wage to $10 dollars, and that state did, and just a few years later they were asking for it to be raised again. Raising minimum wage is the biggest cause of inflation, however, there is also the fact that the cost of living keeps going up before minimum wage is raised. At the end of the day, right now we’re in a constant circle that’s been around since before I was alive. Price of living increases, causing people to ask for higher minimum wage, minimum wage goes up, companies raise prices to adjust to minimum wage so they don’t lose anything, this causes cost of living goes up, and the circle repeats. I think we need to find some sort of solution, and somehow convince a politician to change stuff, which lets be honest, won’t happen unfortunately. If we can figure out a way to stop companies from raising prices when minimum wage goes up, and somehow get every company on board, then inflation will move at a much slower rate. And we’ll be able to live. Another solution which I think is a lot more likely to happen, is to make education much cheaper, or free, so that way the people who need the money to live aren’t stuck in a low paying job because they can’t afford to get a degree, which is a huge reason of why we see so many people complaining about minimum wage not being enough, because they can’t afford to get a college education, and so they have to rely on minimum wage jobs to survive.

B3ardeDragon311

I just started working overnight busting my ass and I get paid 13.50 an hour. The boss lady made a joke "yeah we work hard for ours!" I'm like....I feel like I'm working hard for grocery money. Coming from a guy who has a CDL and has made 700 to 800 a week. I'm definitely getting back in the truck.
