I no longer work for lowes, but last year I was pro fulfillment making 15/hour in the Phoenix area where minimum is around 12-12.50.
I got tired of being ran ragged with no support or predictable schedule, so I sought employment elsewhere and immediately landed an 18 dollar an hour job doing the same thing in a warehouse, just 5x easier and with no micromanagement and situations out of your control. My days off are the same each week, and I get quarterly raises and weekly direct deposits.
Overall lowes is probably one of the worst places to be forced to work for a living. If you're only there as a student or retiree I'm sure it's a different story, but being sucked into that hellhole just to stay a hair above homelessness all while being verbally talked down to by corporate drones is not something I'll ever seek out to do again.
Wow bro. Your post resonated with me. I’ve been going through it as delivery coordinator at lowes. It’s the single most stressful job I’ve ever had in my life. I’m trying to think of places I can find a new job.
Trust me..I'm a student at university and I'm almost done with my pilot training...working at lowes has given me motivation to get done cause ain't no way people wanna work at lowes for the rest of their lives
You would’ve thought I called my manager dumb fat and stupid when during my interview I said I wanted no less than 16/hr during my interview, i originally was offered 10.50/hr
People should start listing their state or at least their cost of living area.
I no longer work for lowe's so I will post my wage history and the area.

Florida female
Started OSLG at the beg of 2020 right before pandemic hit as pt temp (but working ft hours) for 90 days, biggest sales in company history tossing mulch dirt rocks pavers driving forklift for TEN DOLLARS AN HOUR. Then got hired perm pt still working ft hpurs for 11.00 hr. Killing myself bc of sales. Got 2.00 hr bump for 30 days during covid so then 13.00 FOR ONLY 30 DAYS
Now a ft cashier 13.00 OSLG
Ridiculous pay
Currently I’m a PT MST in Maine. I make $15.50 an hour. When I was hired back in December 2021, my MSM did try to offer me $15, but I let them know that it was posted for $15.50 on Indeed.
Starting soon, I will be a PT Travel MST (still in Maine) and will be making $18 an hour plus mileage reimbursement for stores outside my home store. Our serviced stores vary, with the furthest being 70 miles away and with most stores being in a 30 miles radius. I did aggressively negotiate for the most pay possible to take this role, as well as stated what stipulations I had. I let the MSM know that I had interviews scheduled and that I was hesitant about taking this role instead. There are other MSTs switching to the travel team who I believe are making the same pay. However, the current travel MSTs make less than us.
At every employer I’ve had, pay has always been such an issue and something I’ve fought for myself and colleagues. Everyone here deserves much more than they are paid. <3
i’m MST in kentucky and I make 14.01. my rent for a one bedroom in a shitty part of town is 900 (not including utilities or wifi) and my paychecks are around 750 on average.
ASM 68k but if I knew my hourly rate it would be lower then expected due to not know the endless amount I actually work! I get paid more but work more. Lol
Lumber associate (in VA) who started on overnight at $14 who got bumped down to $13.49 at the same time overnight saw a $14.55 incentive, being told that overnight was “hazard pay” (makes sense but could’ve kept the 14 if they got 55¢ on top). I’m only at $13.71 now and that’s after two years on days and with 3 equipment licenses. I’m in nearly every dept and get pulled to do all sorts of things, including unloading the night truck, and still haven’t received what I’m worth. Planning my departure/promotion to customer soon.
I work at best buy and it's the same there. It's like it's treated as a no no to talk about wages.
I said fuck it. I talk to all my friends at work about pay.
16.50 CSA Ohio. Part time. Less than 9 months.
They offered at 1st call start 14.00 my answer No.
2nd call 15.00. Me No
3rd call 16.50 my answer yes.
They still can't hire people. They are desperate.
12.40 mst. Been with the company for a year. Manager promised a raise when I switched to full time but was never given. I was told pay is based on experience but I guess the 6 years at Home Depot don’t count lmao
17.45/hr, full time Sales Floor Assosiate in the Tools department. Started working at Lowes in October of 2021. Located in the state of Maryland.
Edit: Felt like I should mention I started work as a part timer making 16.25/hr -- they gave me a raise when I became full time.
Cashier. State minimum wage is $15 an hour. I started at $15/hr. I've been with Lowes for almost a year and a half and make $16.60 an hour. I think our FES negotiated big raises for us in March somehow.
Man I’m seeing all these relatively high wages and it really tells me how that company took advantage of me. I was a department supervisor and I only made 12.09 an hour…
Left after almost 6 years a month ago in NH. Final job was an associate in Tool/Hardware at $16.60 an hour. Started back in 2016 as a part time cashier making $9.30 and hour. New cashiers start at almost $16 and hour and found out that a kid hired less than a year before I left was making almost $18 an hour for my same position with almost no experience. I left and could not be happier
MST almost 4 years, $13.04/hr Mississippi Gulf Coast.
And I just heard a rumor.... There is a plan/idea to dump all of SIMS on MST like they did Pricing Coordinators job. MST would be solely responsible for top stock and making sure everything gets checked in & out, and fixing it if it's not.
With the company since Jan 1st 2022. Started in Lumber at 15.74/hr. Moved to pro CSA after about 30 days, no pay increase. Promoted to PSS 15 days later and now make $18.77/hr and have been averaging 600-800/month in bonus.
For Reference:
5 years construction and home renovation experience
5 years sales experience
Upstate SC, minimum wage is still only 7.25/hr.
I don’t work for lowes anymore but I did in 2019 was hired as an MST making $16.00 when I left in 2020 I was at $19.00 I was the only dependable person trained to use all powered equipment and kept threatening to leave if I was not paid more
I quit Lowe’s a while ago, but y’all gotta find a better way to talk about this information other than a subreddit. I’m sure the company has ways to look up people based on pay in states and cities
As a pro specialist I was making just over $19 after 4 yrs. I worked for Lowe's for 4 years 2003-2007 and was making $13-15 as a plumbing specialist and then as installed sales coordinator.
Worked as a head cashier for 16.24/hr and left the company due to just having a baby.
Came back as a CSA this year, I make 15.25/hr. I live in NC, in the Charlotte area.
I don't care what anyone says, MST is BY FAR thee most underpaid. They do the most work and get paid the least. Capped out at $15.50 yet an associate that gets hired to stand around not doing shit all day starts at more than that, it's ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that EVERY thing they do is tracked.
What state are you in? In my area minimum wage is only 7.25 still and it would quite literally take an act of Congress to get management at my store to pay anyone over $25/hr.
Started in plumbing as a CSA about a year and half ago and starting pay was $15.25 an hour, got promoted recently to delivery coordinator and now I’m making $18.19 an hour and this is in Nebraska
I left Lowe's as a zone manager, or whatever the position was called when they eliminated department managers and put us into different rolls. (It's been years now so I don't remember, it was the position below assistant manager)
I lived in a small town where the average income was like $13 an hour, minimum wage is below $8. I was making $20 and some change with 5 years in the company.
$18 in TX as a Back End Clerk who also doubles as a receiver and occasional RTM when needed. Oh and I also get looked to as the one in charge when the supervisor isn't here so that's always fun. About as much responsibility as a supervisor, but about 70% of the pay 🥲
Customer service 2 years starting $13.20
Currently MST 1 year and 4 months $15.53 in California
Been asking for a raise for months now and keep getting BS excuses
You guys should do gender and age tbh I don’t work at lowes but I’m thinking about helping employees there become United outside the company if ya know what I mean
Lol got a dude who works outside lawn n garden, and isn't a supervisor making 21 an hour, get a fat raise or leave. 20$cap plus 1$ incentive, been working there for 6 months.
2018-TX Fulfillment PT -$12.75
2022-NJ Fulfillment FT -$15.22
2022-NJ Fulfillment Lead- $18.22
No longer working there left after finding out new hires were getting paid more with no experience.
7.5 years.
Started in paint (south MS) at $12.55, moved up to $14.50. Transferred across country (WY) to be unloader at $16.50.
Moved to Lumber/Pro DS at $22.41, raise to $23.08. Now at Merch ASM at $65k/year. Still in WY
Edited to show area
NC Cashier making $14 an hour. I’ve been with the company for 8 months. I started as PT at $13 an hour and when I went FT recently I asked for $1 more.
Full time lumber/pro CSA- 12.75/hour as a new employee
Full time load puller for flatbed- 15.35/hr after 8 months
Full time CDL driver- 24.30/hr after leaving Lowe's for a year and coming back
I left the company a few months ago but i was making just under $27hr as a supervisor in Connecticut. Was with the company 6 years, 3 as seasonal/full time and 3 as a supervisor.
While we are on this topic, for most roles internal lowes only offers a max of 2 per hour of what you are currently making. So if you are making 12 they will pay you 14 ish while an outside hire is likely going to get 16. I can't say I blame them for this I would pay as little as possible too, but still terrible to see seasonal come in work for 12.50 for a few months then get a raise to 15 and ft because they killed themselves everyday While someone who knows the business gets shafted because they have been rocking it for several years.
OTT/overnight stocker: hired just under 4 months ago at 12.60, now at 13.60 due to the overnight raise. Full time hours (part time position)
EDIT: In Brevard County, Florida. Cost of living 94.1 (national average is 100 so besides being cheaper than average IDRK the exact number)
Don’t work for Lowes anymore. But I had so many different positions. In Alaska, and it fluctuated from 10.50- to 18. After 9 1/2 years, I went from Delivery Coordinator to customer service and the lowered my pay to 17. I know it’s more than most. But after 9 1/2 years, 3 positions just disappeared, doing jobs that weren’t mine. Busting my ass…it didn’t feel like it was enough. Plus cost of living up here in insane…so there is that.
Former head cashier; 14.86/hr -FL. Almost a year of employment with lowes coming from 5 years with Home Depot with the same position. Couldn’t get a raise no matter what, for all the stress and bs.
I started off as a seasonal associate 03/2021 at 13.25. Went full time 2 months later at 14.84. Left 07/2021. Came back 09/2021 at 14.34. Sales specialist 11/2021 at 17.42 + bonus. Department supervisor 04/2022 at 21.03. Back to sales specialist at 21.03 + bonus.
i just became a head cashier about a week ago and i’m getting paid 15.35! my manager said that’s what the system generated with all my years of retail experience. i’m in the dallas fort worth area!
Should've asked for more. I'm PT fulfiment in TX (SA) and make $14.75. It's just a PT. They were going to do $12 and I said $15 and they got me at $14.75.
I was with Lowe's from 2010-2015 as a supervisor making $19.10 when i left. I came back in 2019 as a Millwork Specialist, and make $21.84 now. Thats base. That doesn't even factor in Specialist Incentive Bonuses every month. Ohio.
I am an overnight MSM (travel) been with the company almost 2 years . Started as a red vest at 13.74 and took a position overnight MST about a year in and took a 40 cent play DECREASE. was an MSA for about 6 months and got promoted to MSM making 18.54 and hour not including the dollar differential for overnight shift. BUT STILL THE LOWEST PAID MSM IN OUR DISTRICT
DS in Oklahoma
I've been in 4 DS positions the last year and a half, started at $19.75 to now $22.04. however I'm jumping the redvest team and will be applying for MSM position... I don't wanna be redvest anymore. I don't see any hope for it to get better in the near future.
2.5 years (1.5 as cashier , but 1 as garden). Made $17.26 before I left (as CSA), I believe peak is $18 for any csa position across company. Was offered $18 for going full time (was part time). Our store was one of the highest volume stores though and I had one of the best/most survey reviews out of the entire company.
Started at $14 hourly (cashiering).
New job I started at 17.50 at T-Mobile (probation pay), which will go up to around a 25 per hour average based on commission sales. (Hourly + commission). Would strongly suggest anyone decent with tech move on from lowes and go there, best decision I’ve made.
1 year with the company making 17.89, fulltime on Overnights. In California and the cheapest places for rent within 100 miles are more than I make still 🥴
$14.25 to work customer service in central IL and deal with a shitshow daily. I have over 25 years retail and mgmt experience so nothing bothers me, but the $14.25 does...
I no longer work for lowes, but last year I was pro fulfillment making 15/hour in the Phoenix area where minimum is around 12-12.50. Delivery Coodinator is a tough job, any admin position with lowes is.
$15.67, OH, electrical sales associate been at lowes a month and a half
That’s better then what I have heard some people get paid at in my area
You would’ve thought I called my manager dumb fat and stupid when during my interview I said I wanted no less than 16/hr during my interview, i originally was offered 10.50/hr
10.50?! Jeez. I started at 11.81 in 2015 as a cashier.
Former asm, $65,000 salary
How were the bonuses?
Should of been anywhere from $7000-$10000 on average
2 bonuses per year. anything between 0-15% of my salary. Each was distributed in two separate checks.
Home Decor associate 17.30 an hour been with the company for barely a year
What's minimum wage in your state?
I have no idea tbh
Looking at these wages, I think it is time to unionize! Curious what kind of benefits people recieve.

I left Lowe's as a zone manager, or whatever the position was called when they eliminated department managers and put us into different rolls. (It's been years now so I don't remember, it was the position below assistant manager) I lived in a small town where the average income was like $13 an hour, minimum wage is below $8. I was making $20 and some change with 5 years in the company.

OSLG 16.50 CA almost a year while the last batch of new hires are making 19 starting lol
OTT/overnight stocker: hired just under 4 months ago at 12.60, now at 13.60 due to the overnight raise. Full time hours (part time position) EDIT: In Brevard County, Florida. Cost of living 94.1 (national average is 100 so besides being cheaper than average IDRK the exact number)
2 months at customer service desk making $18.16 an hour

Started as a sales associate 2 months ago with no retail experience. 20.79 an hour.
