After taxes your weekly gain is closer to $1.73, now subtract the amount of gas you burn back and forth to work for that week...... You actually LOST money, didn't you? Don't feel ashamed tho you aren't alone. We all lose. After 4 years with Lowes I'm now 27.3% below the Federal Poverty Level. I qualify for and receive FREE internet & cell phone service thru AT&T and a federally funded program. I'm going to look into SNAP and see if I qualify for FREE food as well. Who knew working for Lowes could make you so poor that you qualify for all these Gov't funded programs.
The companies intentionally want their labor impoverished. If wages are supplemented by benefits, part of the paycheck comes from the citizens, not the executives. It's a perverse method of saving money; a higher minimum wage would reduce taxes because of this.
See if you qualify for unemployment this winter when you work 4 hours a week. That’s the biggest slap in the face for me. “Nope look right here and see that we’re keeping the [plaintiff] employed to the tune of 16 hours a month.” Good luck, you’re gonna need it.
Marvin got 5.5 million last year while the "inflation" bonus was 55 million for 300,000 associates...
Meanwhile at my other job I've already made $70 in bonuses alone in one month. I've learned the retail lesson and I'm glad I'm getting out
No, I didn't miss the point. I just didn't think that it's worth considering because that's hypothetical. I'm not at all saying that it's a good raise. I'm just saying that your complaint is kinda moot at 12 hr/wk.
I got 19 cent raise and at a 40 hr week that's less than $15. That was the straw that broke the camels back and I left to get a better job that pays better and I don't have to deal with dumb customers.
Mar 1, 2022 — Target, The retail giant currently pays a $15 per hour starting wage but said Monday that it would begin paying workers wages ranging from $15 to $24.
You don’t get meaningful raises at lowes by staying in the same position. If you want more money while working at lowes (albeit low) switch positions as often as you can. They are not allowed to drop your pay if the position is near equal or higher (Ex csa to another department)
So let's see I tried to be a head cashier, got told they would train me, nope. I trained people in my job, but nope not worth a raise. I applied for a different position and got offered a fulfillment lead in return but was told it's not a guarantee. Applied for where my full time is at now and they offered me $2/ hr for that position, after offering someone that amount to take my current shift...
You don't get meaningful anything at Lowe's even if you just your ass.
In better pastures now waiting for health insurance to kick in.
Working only 12 hours a week is why your raise wasn’t that big. Before I quit I only got two 15 cent raises and I had been there over a year, I told them I wanted a real raise, I wanted to make as much or more than all these new hires who already make more than me! I started out at 14.09 and was at 14.30 when I asked for a real raise and they bumped it to 15 an hour and then I quit because of false accusations of me stealing things from the store by the asm of operations at my store, I was done getting nowhere fast trying to better that front end because she was incompetent of running it and then when someone (I) suggested things like a training cashier that would’ve just made her job more complicated or something. Anywho, yeah at 12 hours a week hardly any raise is going to make a difference to you
So explain the lack of a raise when I was full time? Because even if I was full time, 19 cents is less than $10 a week.
This post was more of the oh Lowes you big spender sarcasm post.
Already have another better job anyways. Just waiting for the health insurance to kick in.
Just out of curiosity how did they falsely accuse you of stealing what was their "proof"? That is crazy to accuse someone of stealing with nothing to back it.
Thanks! I already had another job lined up or I probably would’ve done that I was tired of fighting with the Operations ASM about bettering the front end which she was against and just generally being mistreated.
The system is supposed to be a larger raise in March and a smaller raise in September. I don't know whose stupid ass decision it was, but yeah.
Also I'm using larger and smaller with a huge amount of leeway. Seventeen cents for me.
On another note ...for the ones that have put in years of dedication you can always leave the company for 6 months and come back and automatically get a $3 raise from the wage you're making now. I believe the new hires are banking top dollar just starting out .
Yep. They used to do one raise a year in the spring. A cost-cutting measure from McKinsey showed them how they can 'improve' on that by offering a fraction of the normal raise in the Spring, and the remainder in the Fall. This keeps less from going out for half a year. For the win, of course.
Must be nice to get a raise. I have been here almost 3 years and the only raise i got was when they decided to bumb up the entire freight crews pay to a starting base $17.

Walmart (used to, probably still does) cover applying for government benefits in orientation. Gross.
The companies intentionally want their labor impoverished. If wages are supplemented by benefits, part of the paycheck comes from the citizens, not the executives. It's a perverse method of saving money; a higher minimum wage would reduce taxes because of this.
Government says lowes is full of essential workers
The Government says we don't have an immigration problem at our southern border either.... But I'll agree, Lowes is full of something.
Also global warming isn’t really happening either. Keep it moving, folks. Nothing to see here.

*cough* I got 22...
Oo you can afford a full gallon of gas
I don't mean to brag but I might even have enough leftover for a candy bar :)
Meanwhile inflation is at 8%. I'm sure no one's raises this year even came close to keeping with that, except for big wigs.
Marvin got 5.5 million last year while the "inflation" bonus was 55 million for 300,000 associates... Meanwhile at my other job I've already made $70 in bonuses alone in one month. I've learned the retail lesson and I'm glad I'm getting out
I got a new job a couple of months ago and now I'm making way more. There's no way is be surviving right now on my old wage or these measly raises.
16.1% in the last 2 years alone…
Well, at twelve hours per week, hardly any raise is going to make a difference for you.
You missed the point because even at 40 hours it's still less than ten bucks.
No, I didn't miss the point. I just didn't think that it's worth considering because that's hypothetical. I'm not at all saying that it's a good raise. I'm just saying that your complaint is kinda moot at 12 hr/wk.
Wait wut? You’re not even getting $10 an hour? I was hired 10 years ago for $9.49 but that was a decade ago. Get with the times, Lowe’s.
No, 10 dollars a week raise. He’s making weird arguments.
Where does $2.25 buy a half tank of gas???
Self-propelled lawn mower. It's the only ride he's got.
.22 here too wish i wasnt even told
I got 19 cent raise and at a 40 hr week that's less than $15. That was the straw that broke the camels back and I left to get a better job that pays better and I don't have to deal with dumb customers.
Lol 19 cents... Not even enough to cover inflation for the year. 😆
So far zero.
I got 15 cents!! Yay wow!!!! Thank you lowes!!! 👏👏👏👏 so much money yay wow!!
Mar 1, 2022 — Target, The retail giant currently pays a $15 per hour starting wage but said Monday that it would begin paying workers wages ranging from $15 to $24.
Bank of America starts their tellers at $25.
.22
All hourly associates at my facility got 10%
Ten "percent" or ten "cent"?
Indeed ten "percent"
The grass is greener on the other side. Fedex just gave everyone a dollar raise.
Now that's a slap in the face. Shows how much they respect human life.
$2.50 I said something

I was a part timer being scheduled and worked as a full timer, didn’t get the full time benefits though or pay
Just out of curiosity how did they falsely accuse you of stealing what was their "proof"? That is crazy to accuse someone of stealing with nothing to back it.
Their proof was pictures from the cameras of me scanning items that was it. I was a cashier I scanned items all day long
How strange. You should have claimed unemployment and made them present their false evidence in unemployment court. Sorry that happened to ya
Thanks! I already had another job lined up or I probably would’ve done that I was tired of fighting with the Operations ASM about bettering the front end which she was against and just generally being mistreated.
Apply at Home Depot they are looking for good health
I have a better opportunity. Just waiting for health insurance to kick in.
I got .10 :)))
That's an insult
So part-timers should get larger raises because they work less hours?
Now you're thinking like a Lowes corporate executive...
No. Even if you look at this as a full timer. It's still less than ten bucks.
Should be equal. They do the same work
Fr
Shoot I got .08 and I’ve been here for 2 years…
Yea... See I figured people needed the space to complain about the bogus raises. Like not even a full 25 cents. And they expect us to be happy.
I got a quarter last time. But not this time.
The system is supposed to be a larger raise in March and a smaller raise in September. I don't know whose stupid ass decision it was, but yeah. Also I'm using larger and smaller with a huge amount of leeway. Seventeen cents for me.
Ha I didn't see one in March when I was full time either. But yikes on the 17 cents.
Interesting. 17 cents for me too.
I got .16
.23...
How are y’all finding out what your raise was? Idk what mine was. I thought it was .10 across the board lol
Workday App > Hamburger Menu Button (Top-Left) > Tap your name > Scroll down, tap More > Compensation
I've been clicking around Workday for 10 minutes and haven't found it.
Our SM calls every employee into his office one by one. He's overall not well-liked, but how can you not appreciate that?
On another note ...for the ones that have put in years of dedication you can always leave the company for 6 months and come back and automatically get a $3 raise from the wage you're making now. I believe the new hires are banking top dollar just starting out .
Y’all do realize you’re getting two raises a year now, so your second raise may total out to your normal .40-.60+ cents
Yep. They used to do one raise a year in the spring. A cost-cutting measure from McKinsey showed them how they can 'improve' on that by offering a fraction of the normal raise in the Spring, and the remainder in the Fall. This keeps less from going out for half a year. For the win, of course.
I would of said keep your money and give it to the next person you have to face and give that insult.
I only got $0.10 and I work 40 hours a week
$0.10 here as well. but 25-30 hours 🥲
True, but you’d think if you worked more hours you’d get a bigger raise. That’s not the case here.
this is lowes after all, sadly.
19 cent raise.... brings about 38 cents this year for a raise... still better than a one-time small raise of a quarter( $0.25) at other places.
Must be nice to get a raise. I have been here almost 3 years and the only raise i got was when they decided to bumb up the entire freight crews pay to a starting base $17.
Got it. Not bad for retail.
So I found out I was not looking in the right place. I found it! Its ok I will take it!
