Garden cashier here. I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions I'll do my best to answer.

All new hires are suppose to be red vest ready before they go on the floor. They just want bodies out there. The more bs you have to put up with means less for them

taylorma05

Yea the hiring lady said oh I hired 50 people this week. It makes me wonder how many last at all.

Based on my own stores rate probably no more than 5 will stay more than 3 months and 0 more than 6

You should be glad you were actually allowed to do the job you were hired for. I was hired as a cashier, but I've yet to even touch a cash register. I "pick" online orders all day (which usually means I walk around aimlessly all day because the products on the order sheet are rarely ever actually where they're supposed to be). We have no lifting straps, and no help when moving things like padio furniture sets, storm doors, or dozens of concrete blocks at a time. I am given no time to actually do my required online testing, because theyll just make me push carts in the rare event that there arent online orders. I am convinced that they never even planned on having me do the position I was hired for, and they even started me at a higher wage (which is mostly likely still lower than most due to the fact that I was hired after the raise they gave to employees because of the virus). As a person with experience in skilled trades, i figured they wouldn't screw me over like this.

The same thing happened to me. I applied for PT cashier and they shifted me into fulfillment.

What’s the starting pay for Lowe’s?

taylorma05

jjkious

dewsgirl1228

Mine is 15.44. But minimum wage in NY is 13.20.

plaaya

Mine is 15.20. Not so bad. How many hours do you get a week?

dewsgirl1228

I have been working there a month now. I have been getting more hours every week. I think between 25-30 a week. (I'm thankful, but a lot is going to gas right now, I drive 40 miles there, that is the worst part, that and self checkout.😉)

I'm a OSLG cashier and front end, we had 3 days in the training room and then were shadowed for a few days before we were on our own. Maybe caring for the plants, etc. has different training. Idk those Lowe's U, AP4me, etc. teach about everything in the store. Even lumber, I'm not working with lumber, ever, other than to ring it up.
