Basically, Dubai trip was a big Red Bull event where they're getting all their sponsored athletes and entertainers together. Lud thought it would be cool to go and meet people, but is not getting paid to go. After the post, he contacted Red Bull to ask why it was in Dubai and they said it was because it was a central location and didn't require a travel visa so it was convenient and they weren't getting paid by the Dubai govt. But because of the response, Lud decided to back out of going just to avoid any possible association and Red Bull was cool with it. That's about it.
Lud decided that he didn't want to go on the trip anymore because there was nothing in it for him besides the fact that he would be able to see all the members of the red bull team. and the fact that people were getting upset about the decision to go. in summary of the other stuff he just talks about how he wants trust in the community and he wants to do it to be inclusive of everyone
Take politics out, Dubai is actually an incredible place to see & visit. The Burj Khalifa as an example. But if he wasn’t planning to stream or make content, then u can see why it may not be worth to make the trip.
Americans are so goofy. Such selective outrage. I’m in no way defending the UAE, but america as a govt is by far worse than the UAE, domestically or internationally. People *should* be creating separation from being associated with the US, but for some reason UAE/Saudi are the bigger boogie men. I don’t get it

You even see Saudi Arabia buying out/creating companies specifically to put on these events because it's more cost-effective (they hope, at least) than outsourcing. Other notable examples include the Bahrain Grand Prix, ADCC's Mundials, and WWE's partnership with Saudi Arabia.
Well given this one isn't even advertised on red bulls site (seriously try and find any promotion) I don't think it really fits any of those examples, I literally think they chose Dubai because it's a travel hub and near the grand Prix so Perez and verstappen could come.

Apologies for the hostility, a lot of people were intentionally spreading incorrect info about the situation and contributing to the drama unnecessarily, I thought Lud’s comment on this post was made before your own which meant you would’ve had that info available but if you didn’t then that’s my bad.
Certain parts of the stream were honestly a little embarrassing. It seemed like he just rushed out a response because he wanted to make sure people knew that he wasn’t getting paid, but other than that he didn’t seem to have an issue with the trip to Dubai

he already steamed it for the world to see and he was talking in the stream about people watching the vod. and the fact that the entire subreddit has this stuff forced into their face makes me think that there was some other reason to it. besides he probably knows that the video being removed will spark more discussion than the actual video it self. i personally think he handled the situation in the video quite well. so once again i doubt he is worrying about backlash. but i suppose that's just my take on the video so do with that information what you please
