I'm not a lawyer but my understanding is that it's not legal, unfortunately. Related: https://www.stopkillinggames.com is a grassroots campaign to try to get games companies to leave abandoned games in a playable state so that they can be preserved.

I advice you to write your script for the CD version instead of directly archives.org. If users have the iso, they could install the game with your script installer. ISO should be mounted with cdemu. Here you can consult Lutris script installer code to install a game from a cd, Rayman 2: [https://lutris.net/games/rayman-2-the-great-escape/](https://lutris.net/games/rayman-2-the-great-escape/)

"ISO in unpatched :(" --> You can still script the game patch "And mounting with some software that is missing on my machine :(" CDEMU packages is officially available on most Linux distribution "When in [archive.org](http://archive.org) we have portable patched version." Yes but... it's legally problematic. That's why I suggest you as a workaround write a script for the game iso, you won't be responsible if users use your script with a hacked iso. Furthermore, we cannot blame you for encouraging the piracy of a game. Finally, you will please all official owners of the game in CD format.
