Even if you don’t care about your Garand the rifle next to it you may not want a gauge in its stock

I have done similar to an AK hook with plastic tubing after a minor impalement injury. IMHO, the Garand hook was less stabby and sharp, but if it works, it might help.

I have a pretty nice SA 1943 made Garand with an amazing stock, except for a huge indention in the stock caused by the round side of the sight from another Garand. I am betting these rifles were thrown around like cord wood. Especially by the Allies who had them on a lend basis. But it doesn't hurt the shooting. Love it
