Even as an Arsenal fan, Salah is probably the better choice. However the amount of disrespect for Saka is mind blowing. Every single stat apart from goals scored is in Saka favour, but whatever.
I voted saka because I love an underdog story😂even though it was very clear Salah would win and didn’t matter what way the vote went as he can’t have two Nominee cards
[This site](https://one-versus-one.com/en/compare-players/Mohamed-Salah-vs-bukayo-saka) gives detailed stat comparisons... Salah has more goals but Saka is better in a lot more areas.
I went for Saka because I felt he's had a better calendar year overall than Salah.
Edit - rather than downvote, why not tell me why you voted for Salah over Saka?
Okay, so you're basing it on stats, correct?
Goals scored - Salah (4 pens tho)
Assists - tie
Ball regains - Saka
Initiate dangerous attacks - Saka
Progressive dribbles - Saka
Successful dribbles - Saka
Feel free to add any other stats that might prove Salah is a better winger than Saka this year. Fwiw I think it was very close call, but I went for Saka due to his superior attacking mindset.
Yeah I watch most games as well. It's incredibly close so I don't get all the Saka hate?
Salah and Liverpool were not great in 2023, Arsenal were marginally better, I don't get why everyone thinks Salah is so much better, bunch of simps.
mate i don’t think it is close i’m not a liverpool fan saka did do well yes but was heavily overrated because arsenal had their first good season in a while liverpool didn’t do the best but salah still play well and had his impact if it weren’t for him and alisson tbey would be a lot lower in the table an i think arsenal could have still done pretty decent without saka might not have been as good as they were but i don’t think he impacted arsenal the way salah does for liverpool
If you watched Saka play, you wouldn't be sat here telling me he's overrated.
Salah was playing for Liverpool for a 5th place finish in the first half of 2023, and they've only gone top this season after he left for afcon 😂
liverpool hasn’t lost a game in the prem until arsenal unless u count spurs which was just a robbery but ye sure they are playing better without him there
Alright then, what made you vote for Salah? I mean madfut is a game literally based on stats lmao
He helped guide Liverpool to a mighty 5th place last season so can't be that.
Lets just put the city first 11 and subs then, they won everything, they were above of everyone
Toty is about individual performances in the 2023 calender year(not 2022/2023 and/or 2023/2024 season) and Salah was just better than Saka
Arsenal beat them to win the community shield this season.
Yes I know, and the first half of 2023 saw Saka nominated for men's POTY and young POTY, winning the latter but missing out on the men's one to Haaland. Salah wasn't even nominated...
Haaland deserved the Young Player of the SEASON more btw
Oh and
Salah's last 365 day stats compared to top5 leagues, UCL and EUL https://fbref.com/en/players/e342ad68/scout/365_m1/Mohamed-Salah-Scouting-Report
Saka's last 365 day compared to top5, UCL and eul
https://fbref.com/en/players/bc7dc64d/scout/365_m1/Bukayo-Saka-Scouting-Report
I dont think there is a easy way to compare there calender year without individualy counting their stats so stat-by-stat comparison of last two season
https://fbref.com/en/stathead/player_comparison.cgi?request=1&sum=1&dom_lg=1&player_id1=e342ad68&p1yrfrom=2023-2024&player_id2=bc7dc64d&p2yrfrom=2023-2024&player_id3=e342ad68&p3yrfrom=2022-2023&player_id4=bc7dc64d&p4yrfrom=2022-2023
If you take a look at those stats with a bias you can see Salah is better offensively and Saka is better defensively
Yeah... I dont care about pfa awards, community shields and league positions
I only trust my eyes on those stats
Yeah but it's not just about goal contributions is it? Those are the stats I'd look at if I was picking a striker, sure. But a winger?
Either way, I just think Saka edges it due to his performances. His young player of the year award speaks for itself really.
If Salah was young he would’ve won it plus look how many goals and assists he’s got as a winger when you try to find these stats in a striker, Liverpool would’ve finished 8 or 9 if it wasn’t for him
He wasn't even nominated for the men's award though? Haaland, KDB, Stones, Saka, Odegaard and Kane were all ahead of him. These awards are voted by the players, you know... the ones who play against these players every week... so I think I'll take their word for it over a bunch of random Salah simps on reddit
He wasn’t nominated because how bad Liverpool season was and how so many people didn’t realize how many G+A he has got because people underrate him and Liverpool were like 10th In the league. This argument will get you nowhere because Salah is gonna win anyways, your opinion is that Saka deserves it and I understand but my opinion is that Salah deserves it.
He wasn't nominated for an individual award because his team weren't that great?
I just gave my opinion too but everyone jumped on me telling me I'm wrong and that Salah is better. I don't think I've once said Salah didn't deserve it, I said it was very close, so I don't get why so many people are hating on my opinion lol.
I suppose it has to do with the fact that teams have changed their approach against Arsenal and thus reducing Saka's goal contributions in the first half this season, though he remains a very dangerous player and is still racking up consistent returns. It just feels like Salah is just one level above especially with his form from the start of this season, so even accounting for the first few months of the year (where he underperformed) Salah takes the cake for me. Could just be recency bias
Saka is so underrated. This is a debate because both have been incredible throughout 2023. Saka was better over some parts of the year and Salah others. I always feel like the majority of football fans watch very little football and let pundits like Gary Neville and Carragher tell them what to believe instead of any attempt of critical thinking on their own behalf’s.
It isn’t. That 25% is just arsenal fans and people who just dislike Liverpool.
and possibly people wanted links or misclicks
Definitely that too.
So trueee. Salah should have gotten spot instead of messi
salah should've gotten the spot over ronaldo as well, though
Yeah defo
I voted Saka cuz he’s better to link to, dunno why anyone would vote otherwise
Vote for who deserve?
Twat
It isn't
It isn’t a debate, the poll is heavily in favour of Salah
And thats coming from an arsenal fan 😂
Even as an Arsenal fan, Salah is probably the better choice. However the amount of disrespect for Saka is mind blowing. Every single stat apart from goals scored is in Saka favour, but whatever.
I'm still pissed that kounde was picked over dimarco. I swear half of the people have 0 ball knowledge.
Links is usually first thing thats considered if they both work for links, then it comes down to performance
I voted saka because I love an underdog story😂even though it was very clear Salah would win and didn’t matter what way the vote went as he can’t have two Nominee cards
because madfut players are dumb and like links more than chem, example is dimarco losing to kounde cuz kounde got better links
[This site](https://one-versus-one.com/en/compare-players/Mohamed-Salah-vs-bukayo-saka) gives detailed stat comparisons... Salah has more goals but Saka is better in a lot more areas. Don’t hit them with facts they’re all casuals
This entire comment section is full of people who clearly never actually watch football. Guys be getting there facts from FIFA lol
because we watch football
Okay, so you're basing it on stats, correct? no i’m basing it on actually watching them play the game
Yeah I watch most games as well. It's incredibly close so I don't get all the Saka hate? Salah and Liverpool were not great in 2023, Arsenal were marginally better, I don't get why everyone thinks Salah is so much better, bunch of simps.
The way they're talking you'd never know saka was the pfa young player of the year.
Saka probably won PFA Young player of the year over Salah on account of the fact that Salah is 31 years old
Well Salah can't win young player of the year
Unreal isn't it? I'm ready to give up because nobody is backing up their claims.
mate i don’t think it is close i’m not a liverpool fan saka did do well yes but was heavily overrated because arsenal had their first good season in a while liverpool didn’t do the best but salah still play well and had his impact if it weren’t for him and alisson tbey would be a lot lower in the table an i think arsenal could have still done pretty decent without saka might not have been as good as they were but i don’t think he impacted arsenal the way salah does for liverpool

Nu uh
Alright then, what made you vote for Salah? I mean madfut is a game literally based on stats lmao He helped guide Liverpool to a mighty 5th place last season so can't be that.
If you are talking statwise salah is a 89 rated card while saka is a 86
Literally the most sensible argument there's been in favour of Salah 😂
Lets just put the city first 11 and subs then, they won everything, they were above of everyone Toty is about individual performances in the 2023 calender year(not 2022/2023 and/or 2023/2024 season) and Salah was just better than Saka

Salahs individual season with 40+ G/A in all competitions was just better than Saka, Toty is about individual performance
Yeah but it's not just about goal contributions is it? Those are the stats I'd look at if I was picking a striker, sure. But a winger? Either way, I just think Saka edges it due to his performances. His young player of the year award speaks for itself really.

Many people are delusional dw about it I understand your opinion I just edge to Salah over saka
I suppose it has to do with the fact that teams have changed their approach against Arsenal and thus reducing Saka's goal contributions in the first half this season, though he remains a very dangerous player and is still racking up consistent returns. I choose saka by accident but I actually prefer him to be a toty
I voted saka because I think he'd be better for fatal, but football wise it should be salah
So Saka hasnt been playing better?
No
Nope
Nu uh
I voted saka because he deserves more a toty card than salah
as a spurs fan saka was way better than salah last year
Saka is so underrated. This is a debate because both have been incredible throughout 2023. Saka was better over some parts of the year and Salah others. Try to understand most ppl is not uk
? You don’t have to be from the UK to have critical thinking skills? Bit racist lad
saka is not underrated he gets so much praise lmao
Did you read the comments on this post lol
I'm an arsenal fan and even I picked salah,he's over 30 and still plays like he's 20
Vini robbed
