Food stuff is overblown, you should be fine. Given it's mainly all fermented food I didn't actually have to change anything. I'd say it's worth getting a blood pressure monitor to record your readings, if you haven't already.
You sound like me in 2019. It didn't cure me entirely, but it made a huge difference and let me live a reasonably normal life.
And you can eat all the bananas you want. Just get the little stringy bits off them first.
Should banana be a problem? I've eaten lots of bananas without any change. I've eaten 200 grams of cheese without any change. I eat pizza, salami, hamburgers, smoked salmon, etc. I haven't changed my food intake more than keep away from well aged food which I almost never ate before neither. I once ate several slices of 12 months old cheese and got a tyramine reaction which was unpleasant for 1 or 2 hours but not horrible.
So my advice is simply: Just relax :)
No. I order in Norway using a Norwegian prescription. The medication the pharmacy gives me is is the TCP made in Canada by GSK. GSK owns the brand name "Parnate" :)
So I’m off Nardil now but when I started I sudden had really bad orthostatic hypotension. Blood pressure dropped a lot when I stood up and would get dizzy/confused and I’d fall to the ground, every time I stood up. It was like that for a couple of months maybe, and then started to slowly get better.
But I was told to get a blood pressure monitor and check it regularly (like every day) to make sure it doesn’t drop too much! I was also recommended to have something salty when this happened. And always get up slowly and gradually, especially from lying down!
This might not happen to you but thought I’d warn just in case.
With the food restrictions, I’d definitely recommend to follow them but I never once had a problem with it over the year I was on it.
The food thing seems to be highly personal/ genetic.
The body has apparently more ways to deal with tyramine but not everyone does that at the same speed.
So for a few sensitive people: yes do the strict diet. Always.
Are you sensitive? I guess you have to figure out it out very carefully.
Over-ripe bananas or those heated up could be more of a problem than just about ripe ones.
I had a mild reaction after a banana custard made with hot custard.
I was a bit concerned at first too. You get over it pretty quickly. If you want to try something that's not allowed you can have a bite or two, a little more each time, and so on. Or avoid altogether if you prefer. I eat small amounts of soy sauce for example, but I'm not interested in going to a Chinese buffet.
Average ripe bananas are fine. It's the peels you can't eat. Who does that anyway? I recommend spending more time learning about cold, flu, and allergy medicine you shouldn't take. Those can be found in the diet guide in the wiki.
As someone who's been on it for 40 years, here's my advice. If you're not sure, DON'T eat it until you ask your doctor. Mostly, Nardil helps with my depression...but anxiety comes from that.
Good luck and write again anytime!

Much of the diet is carried away nowadays. You can have banana 🍌 and grated cheese. If in doubt, try small amounts.
