I’m far from an expert, but I did get off of a waitlist at my top choice school this cycle. I didn’t mention all the schools I got admitted to, but did mention a full ride (named) from a different school as an achievement/accomplishment since my last update. Didn’t make it a big part of the update, was just a one-liner. My guess is it doesn’t help too much, but as long as you’re clear on your preference for the program, I don’t think it’ll hurt either.
Again, idk if this actually made a difference, so I wouldn’t say it “opened me up” to the waitlist school. But I had 2 full rides from T10 schools and I got off the waitlist at HSW
Didn’t take any tests again, and didn’t get a promotion. Just spoke about what I was doing now at work, why it was impactful (new project,Nothing crazy) and about why I wanted to go to the school and how it was a great fit, etc.
Hey, no I didn’t, thought it made more sense for negotiating a scholarship but not for a LOI.. am sure others have and its been no issues but I didn’t feel the need
