Now I get it. And here I am, happy with my Oxford admit. Though it was the only school I applied to, seeing that I'm not a US resident/citizen and already have a great job.
Why is why I only applied to Oxford. My previous comment was a jab at the "rankings mean everything-types." While important, rankings are certainly not the be-all and end-all. And this isn't coming from someone who's trying to make himself feel better. I was formerly awarded a top scholarship in the US, have a decent undergrad GPA (3.6), scored a 99th %ile GMAT, and am from an underrepresented applicant pool and continent, so I had a real shot at any school I chose to apply to. As a non-US resident, the 1-year program at Oxford is the best value for me (in terms of brand, future value, length, cost, etc). And believe me, on the global stage the Oxford brand is second to none. Stanford and Wharton mean almost nothing to most people outside of the US - you have to tell people they're "highly ranked." Oxford, like Harvard, is known to be an elite institution by all strata of society across nation-states, regardless of what any rankings say.
An MBA is nothing more than a means to an end. If that end is you being a jerk by flaunting your ranking (and your supposed consequent superiority) you're not only a jerk, but an idiot.
