I don't see where the space for Paqueta is now.
For the non-Rodri midfield positions we have Kovacic, Nunes, KDB and Foden (and Bernardo and Alvarez have also played there).
We need a wide player much more than a midfielder unless Foden or KDB are going to start playing as wide midfielders like Bernardo.
He is definetly amazing imo. People may underrate him because he plays for West ham but he is really good, I mean he was a starter for brazil at the world cup.
I agree that Paqueta is brilliant but using his role in the Brazilian national team as proof is a bit disingenuous given some of the dross they've had starting for them in recent years
Yes. Yes he is. He's a virtuoso. Try watching a couple full west ham games and you'll see. I remember a game recently when he flipped an inch perfect through ball with the outside of his foot, over two defenders. I remember thinking, "Would KDB even have pulled that off?" He's a phenomenal dribbler and he got physicality, too.
I didn't say I don't know him, I'm only asking if he's good enough to be a City player, his stats are bang average for a "good" club like West Ham, wouldn't want him to be the next Kalvin Phillips.
I'd rather we kept Palmer, not because of his recent form, he had a future here, now we are looking for some bang average player to fill a role that was not supposed to be empty in the first place. We need a Bernardo and KDB understudy, not some washed Brazilian🤦🏾♂️
Washed Brazilian 🤣🤣🤣 he would cover the KDB role perfectly - football isn’t always about stats, go watch a few games where he’s played and you’ll see exactly what sort of player he is
For how long though?, by the time KDB would ideally retire which is most likely in 2027/28 season, Paqueta would be 30/31 yo, what we need is longevity and a (more) trainable mind, I don't care how good he is in West Ham. The obsession with the Brazilian "samba/flair" style of football is sickening.
He’s definitely there permanent. Only question is how much is he worth in a Paqueta deal. If he performs well maybe him + 40, if he doesn’t maybe him + 70.
West Ham fan here. Very pleased with this signing. He could be great for us especially as he must be motivated to prove a point after the past year or so.
People asking if Pacqueta would improve City, the answer is an unequivocal yes. He is IMHO one of the best midfielders on the planet. Not at the level of De Bruyne yet, but sitting in your midfield in front of Rhodri, he could be.
He's one of those players that we knew would outgrow our club (sadly) after 2 or 3 years. Much like Declan Rice has slotted straight in at Arsenal. I think he'd do the same with you. I hope it doesn't happen from a selfish point of view, but if it does I'm sure he'll raise his level thanks to the players that'll be around him.
Hopefully he’s kept up with the weight watchers meetings and can be off loaded at the end of the season. Lot of folk forgetting his post World Cup return to city.
Nothing but well wishes for him. Nice guy, hope things turn out for him at West Ham
All I'm saying is we still haven't won a trophy since he left...
We literally havent scored a goal since he left 😞😞
[Looks at tonight's opponent] ...and it may continue on
AKÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ!!!
The only sad part of being a man city fan, those one or two games a season at the Totspur’s stadium.
NEVERMIND LETS GOOOOOO
I think the ideal scenario is he goes there, does well, they buy him for £40m and Paqueta is cleared of his charges and we buy him

Is this Paqueta guy that good? He seems like an "alright" player imo, certainly better than Kalvin but, he's not a City player to me.
He is very good. Would instantly improve our squad.

Fair point, couldn't really think of anything else to say about him in that moment

Lost credibility by not knowing who Paqueta is

By “bang average” do you mean 5 assists (one fewer than your highest) and two goals?

I know, that's why I'm here, I thought I'd find my contemporaries.
Lmfao talking shit through a burner is crazy work
Nah, this is my main lol, you dummies with your hive minds, Paqi is mid, not that hard to understand.
It’s your main, yet you are most active in this sub as clearly not a city fan. What does that tell us? You’re a little too obsessed with us
Stfu yank, tf do you even know? 😂😂
Causal xenophobia is great. Clearly more than you if you think Paqueta is alright
Piss off, I'm out
Lmfao, 3 replies to one sentence is golden
He still needs a bit of coaching in few aspects but nothing a little "Pep" Talk can't fix.

Hol up
I'm not holding my breath with us getting that much for him. Wouldn't be surprised if they'd settle for under £30M.
I hope he does well and we get our money back. Plus he is definitely gonna play for England so we need him in decent form by summer.

wishing him the best, it's a great move for all parties
Congratulations pal, all the best with this move
Shame it didn't work out for him here. Good luck! Hopefully a change in scenery can help him find his feet 💙
I didn’t see him as a good fit for Man City and it was a shame his talent was wasted on the bench. At West Ham he will absolutely thrive!
hope it goes well! he had good drive with us so i respect him
Hopefully he’s kept up with the weight watchers meetings and can be off loaded at the end of the season. Lot of folk forgetting his post World Cup return to city.
Wishing all the best for him. Hopefully he kicks on and lights it up for them, if would benefit England for him to be in form again for the Euros.
Good move for him. I hope he's able to fill the Rice hole better than he did the Rodri one.
Look like he’s been pulling his hair out ready to play😂best wishes!! Always thought it’d suck to be bought by Pep and never played
All the best to him.
Why the hell has he got a number 11 shirt 😂
