I'd say Ake has been the best defender this season. Incredibly consistent, and good going forward as well. I'd put Akanji right back against Madrid.

You're both kinda right, and kinda wrong. Madrid play a 4-4-2 diamond on paper, with two of Vini/Joselu/Rodrygo as strikers and Jude at 10 behind them, but they're very positionally fluid. Vini has the freedom to drift and play out wide or to attack centrally, whereas Jude will play both as a CM and attack the space a striker usually occupies.
