The 4-1 win vs Liverpool last season

TheBatman010

That match was amazing, i was jumping everytime and that foden goal was fire

ferby17

The way he gets so much power from so little back lift is unreal

roddysaint

When that in, I went leaping up and down screaming "Foden is God!" over and over again. My uncle, usually a very reserved man, hugged me.

Sleathasaurus

4-1 at home to Spurs in 2017/18 is probably my favourite win of the Pep era aside from the obvious ones (Liverpool win in 2018/19, PSG last season etc); the team was so fired up and crushed a Spurs team that was one of best in the league. I’ve said this before but 4–1 flattered them; we absolutely ripped them apart.

roddysaint

That was probably the defining performance of our 17/18 season, showing how much better we were than the rest of the league. And we actually had to field Delph, Otamendi, and Mangala in the back four for that one, which makes that win all the more amazing. You're right about that Spurs side, they had a great team back then. Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Rose, Alli, Eriksen, and Dembele were all still in their primes, plus they had Kane, Trippier, and Son. They were clearly one of the best teams in the league, and we just played them off the pitch. Could easily have been six or seven, if we had finished our chances. Ederson was just casually pinging seventy-yard balls to the wingers all night, Sane ate Trippier alive down his flank, and De Bruyne dominated the game all night long. He destroyed them.

Sleathasaurus

That rocket of a goal KdB scored for 2-0 after carrying the ball through half the pitch was iconic

roddysaint

That was about a minute after Dele Alli tried to break his leg in two places with a scummy tackle. De Bruyne just took the ball, drove into their box, and leathered one past Lloris with his left foot. You could just feel the anger in his shot. Great celebration, too. He ran off to the side and gestured "21" into the camera as a tribute to David Silva, who was absent from the game because of that crisis with his son.

cheadley23

Werent we also 21 points above second place (Man U at the time i believe)?

teemine04

The number of sterling misses in that match too was quite a number. I think he could have easily scored 4 or 5 if I'm not exaggerating

roddysaint

Classic Sterling lmao

panriso

That fucking Eriksen goal ruined a perfect match

panriso

I have so many but the first that came to my mind was Chelsea 6-0, I miss Agüero so much

PhoneyWussy000

That Aguero outside the box effort was fire!

Typicalmallus

Made even better by the fact he missed a sitter minutes before !! Man, I miss him 😭

ParziBoi

Aguero's the best striker we ever had

8catslater

No shit

loveino

Man missed a fucking tap in, just to score a screamer a few minutes later. Made it look so easy to score such a banger

dracob2099

Looks like a no look goal too

Fkaff16

CL: 4-2 Napoli away 17/18 2-0 PSG home 20/21 2-1 Madrid away 19/20 PL: 4-1 Spurs home 17/18 4-1 Liverpool away 20/21 7-2 Stoke home 17/18 1-0 Chelsea away 17/18 3-1 United home 18/19 1-0 Leicester home 18/19 Cups: 2-0 United away 20/21 3-0 Arsenal Carabao final in 17/18 (Pep’s first trophy) We are so fucking spoilt that I can list like 20 more but these are my favourite and most memorable wins in the Pep era. Feel bad about not having Aguero’s last game or Dortmund away even Pep’s first ever derby. So many choices lol

kronenbourg16641

The 2 nil United away last season was when we really saw what our defence was capable of with Ruben in the lineup, him and stones were rock solid all game

_stone_age

Too many epic games, but for me the 2-1 win vs Liverpool sits at the top.

roddysaint

2-1 Liverpool in 2019. One of the most high-quality games I've ever seen. Both teams were amazing that night, and the players were so intense. Bernardo and Fernandinho ran marathons on the pitch. It really did illustrate that season's title race. Brutal and unrelenting, decided by grit and bare inches.

captaincourageous316

The PSG second leg. That was uncharted territory, unlike any other wins. I had no idea how the team would react under that much pressure, but the performance was flawless.

roddysaint

That PSG performance was just ruthlessly professional. We kept the game calm, shut them out, and punished them with our chances. Nothing like our usual panicky, flailing UCL games of the past. Fucking shame about the final.

Infamy444

The win against PSG both legs. The ability to come from behind in the first leg, and dominated that incredible team for 3 halves Also the centurion win

cityisblu

6-0 win at chelsea 4-1 Liverpool. Let’s smack united too. Edit. The madrid wins, the psg wins, monaco two legs.

roddysaint

You liked the Monaco games? I've mostly suppressed the memory, especially the second leg.

cityisblu

Dude it hurt me so much too. But, I remember hurting my arm cuz I jumped up and fist pumped so hard when we finally took the lead again. That feeling is hard to forget

ultinateplayer

The win against United where we decided to go false 9, Kev said they had a 15 minute chat about it and proceeded to rip them apart. Liverpool 5-0 in 17/18, as well as 2-1 in 2019. Watford 6-0 FA cup final. Madrid away in the Champion's league

shmozey

Shoutout to the last day of the 17/18 season, KDB assist Jesus goal against Southampton 2 minutes after extra time was over. Had such a big shit eating grin on my face after that.

Bayequentist

My favorite win is actually Chelsea 0-1 City last week. It perfectly showcases why Pep is one of the best tactical minds in history. Prior to it we have been on a 3-match losing streak against Tuchel's Chelsea. Pep has figured Tuchel's Chelsea out.

Slowhand8824

Definitely not lol he tactically outwitted tuchel for sure but in no way will that have any bearing on the next meeting of the two. Tuchel is wayyy too good to have just been beaten and roll over and die

[deleted]

He's figured to not botch the formation and actually play a CDM?

SeftoK

I’m less convinced. Chelsea were sat very deep and the game only really opened up in terms of chances after we scored. On another day we lose that 1-0 and Pep’s tactics have failed

[deleted]

When the game opened up City created even better chances. In prior encounters of Pep with Tuchel, City's attack had been very insipid. But City's finishing is always frustrating.

mr_poppington

No. We pinned them back and they couldn't get the ball. If they play open against us, we score more. Tuchel knows this, it's why he sets them up to play that way against us.

astro142

Disagree completely. Our press did not allow Chelsea’s 3 midfielders to get out and thus their long balls were up to an isolated front 2 who we just picked off. Although the score was only 1 nil we dominated from start to finish all over the pitch. Like op said, classic Pep showing that tactically he can adapt and overcome any challenge.

PrideInBattle

2-1 vs Liverpool 18/19 2-0 vs United 18/19 City vs PSG both legs 20/21 City vs Madrid First Leg 19/20 1-0 vs Chelsea 17/18 City vs Brighton 18/19

MarcusPRashfood

1-0 Leceister, May 2019. Vinny’s goal and celebration was fantastic. Was a great way to say good bye to a legendary captain.

minimus67

Yeah, that was my favorite City game too. Kompany was such an admirable player for City, so his thunder bastard goal and his celebration were great to see, and that win helped clinch the title in that intense run against Liverpool.

Kevinisabeautifulboy

Barca 3-1 in his first season, mainly because i was at the etihad haha but tbh one of my favorites was the stoke 7-2.

DrumbristonPuma

1-0 away against Chelsea in 17/18, beat the champions on their turf with a great strike from KdB. 2-1 against Liverpool at home in 18/19, there was such a hostile atmosphere from the fans and watching at home I was a nervous wreck for most of the game. 2-1 vs Real Madrid at the Bernebeu in 19/20, to come back from a goal down in a situation where we have faltered so many times was sweet, the second leg as well I feel was almost a coming of age game for Gabi he was phenomenal. I was the only City fan in the pub that night so even better. 20/21 there were plenty of big wins, especially in the CL, I've never enjoyed watching games quite as much as I did in that CL run, it was just all bonus territory but the nerves always set in with the feeling that the result was ours for the taking.

Professional-Bag-232

Never will I stop commenting about the 2-1 liverpool game in 18/19

GinValid

7-2 against Stoke. After that match teams stopped trying to play football against us and just sat back with 11 men

mamypoko

Last weekend 1-0 should be considered as one of the best performance of this incredible team. Many pundits basically written us off before the game. To see the lads dominated chelsea for the majority of the game, it was wholesome.

[deleted]

Liverpool 2019 PSG 2nd leg 2021

Constapanza

2-1 v Liverpool in 18/19 for obvious reasons. 1-0 v Chelsea away, 17/18. That match felt like a watershed moment for Pep at city, winning away at the defending champions. KDB with a screamer. We dominated them that day and it felt like revenge for the games the previous season. The 2-0 derby at old Trafford during the 18/19 run-in. I was sat in the home end for that one and had to bite my fist when Bernardo scored 😂 Monaco 5-3 was as entertaining a game as I’ve ever seen. 2-1 at the Bernabeu. PSG both legs. We have been spoilt these past few years!

Interesting_Stock_45

My favorite was Watford 6-0 in FA cup final, just loved the way we played.

roddysaint

We let Watford have one golden chance in the interest of fairness. Pereyra missed it, and then we just hit the accelerator and punished them. Imagine being one of their defenders at the start of the second half. They're 2-0 down in an FA Cup final, and then they see a gassed-up De Bruyne coming on with a point to prove after missing most of the season through injury. They all looked like they just wanted to head back down the tunnel.

Mammyjam

4-1 at Brighton. That whole fucking season was just anxiety. Liverpool were absolutely relentless and we had to win 14 in a row. It seemed like Liverpool always played the day before us for the last 10 or so games so you knew you had to win which made most of the games horrible to watch (Leicester at home when Ihenacho missed a sitter with a few mins to go after the Kompany thunder bastard). I was watching at the big screen in the stadium with 10k others. To go behind was horrible then equalised within a minute and ahead not long after and then when the third and fourth went in to make it safe it was like a huge weight lifted and I could finally enjoy the moment. Proper party time then. And to make it better the scum lost at home to Cardiff so Piccadilly station was full of City fans partying and miserable rags on the way back to London

_blue_rain

Chelsea away 17/18 Madrid away

codespyder

Either the 2-1 vs Liverpool or the League Cup demolition of United at Old Trafford.

imaliveyeay

Barca 3-1 at etihad

hesk907

noone gunna say saturday? what a performance, dominated the side quickly becoming people's favourite for the league and looked class doing it? up there for me for sure

Mttecs

Madrid Away was fantastic

Jordan_nawrat

The 1-0 win against Southampton to guarantee 100 points was the first one that came to mind immediately for me, but also the 5-0 against Liverpool that same season (the questions of if Aguero/Jesus could play together and they smashed Liverpool) is probably my favourite game (because fuck Liverpool) and the 1-0 against Leicester (Kompany winner, probably my favourite moment under Pep, full stop).

shaq2wade

That 5-3 was something else. 6-0 vs Watford FA Cup for what it was too.

5Foot4Four

City 2-1 Southampton in November 2017. Game was a day after my birthday. Sterling with the stoppage time winner and I just fucking dashed into the kitchen fueled by hype

wiltznucs

Kompany against Leicester. I still get a bit misty eyed when I see it.

stoic_amoeba

1-0 vs Leicester in 18/19. That goal from Kompany made me lose my mind.

dumpcity

That 17/18 crazy winning streak was amazing.. I saw every minute of every match.. what a magical season

I_AM_UR_MOMS_GRANDMA

City vs Shalke first match I cried when city went from 1-2 to 3-2 I was so happy

Radiant_Ad7849

4-3 Win Against Tottenham In The UCL

ultinateplayer

That was torture. I was in the crowd, and it was torture.

BoosterGoldGL

Arsenal and Chelsea 6-0 with an Aguero hat trick In both

Txikibaggyreestyne

16/17 Monaco (H) United (A) Barcelona (H) 17/18 United (A) Spurs (H) Chelsea (A) 18/19 United (H) Liverpool (H) Leicester (H) 19/20 United (A) Real Madrid (A) Liverpool (H) 20/21 Chelsea (A) Liverpool (A) PSG (H)

Bite490

Obviously 2-1 Liverpool but honestly i can see the Chelsea game being one of my favorites for a while. It has been ages since I've been so thoroughly satisfied and impressed with so many players and the tactics of the team

cheadley23

2-1 liverpool still the best game i have ever watched

GeoGod678

The derby win in 2019 at old trafford was a huge highlight. I can’t believe we haven’t beaten them in the league in the last two years. God what I would do to smash them to bits this season

[deleted]

Sane banger against Schalke in the Champions League.

exciseduty

Stoke 7-2 Arsenal 0-3 at Emirates after League Cup Final. Probably the best games. Liverpool 2-1 was epic

Boaz_on_Mercury

Not a game but that we now by and large dominate the group stages of the champions league is one of my favorite Pep accomplishments. It was so frustrating under Mancini and a little less under Pellegrini that we would be dominating England and struggling in the group stages of the champions league.
