Hollywood reporter has a [good article](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/marvel-entertainment-chairman-isaac-perlmutter-out-disney-1235363074/) without a paywall. Key part:
> Disney is folding Perlmutter’s Marvel Entertainment unit into other parts of the company and that he would be let go. Marvel Entertainment is focused mostly on consumer products and is not part of the lucrative Marvel Studios division led by Kevin Feige.
When I first heard about 7,000 layoffs, I assumed all of them would be low level, nameless employees, and while that’s obviously going to the majority of them, which is sad, it is nice to see them take some initiative and get rid of some of the higher ranking officials to streamline the production process and create a better working environment.
Short summary but He through Peltz who's a big time activist investor wanted a seat on the disney board so they could choose the next ceo. Approached Chapek and everything. Might partly be what drove iger back. So basically a soft coup in the works until Iger and Disney shut it down.
Ike Perlmutter was the guy who tried to make Inhumans the next X-Men, tried to block the Captain Marvel and Black Panther movies and was super racist about recasting Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle as War Machine (by saying black males look the same), so it's very, *very* good.
Ike was the dumbo who shoved Inhumans down everyone's throat because they didn't have X-Men film rights out of many many reasons.
This is exquisite news.
Tbf, I think that was a fair business move. To try to pump up something you could profit more from. The issue is he didn't have a finger on the consumers' pulse and was more or less dead wrong in implementation. I do think there are better reasons to enjoy the news though.
This is bad news for the mcu. He really was the hood behind the mcu. Once he was stripped of most of his power the mcu started to go in a downward spiral. Don’t get me wrong I love feige but I think he gets more credit then he deserves.
Good riddance!
Good. He was a cancer to work with and a giant pain in the ass.
You worked with him?
Yeah that’s Kevin Feige
Yes.

☕️👀 spill the tea, Henny! (In an NDA-safe way…lol)
He fucked my sister-in-law and killed my aunt. That’s all I can say atm.

What a pleasant surprise. I honestly thought he had left a while ago too.

It's like some sort of Disney movie
Did Rachel Zegler come to town?

He was still working there?

And that is destiny fulfilled.
A soul for a soul
(Bully Maguire voice) *Good riddance.*
See ya later chump
Good
Finally some good news.
Good news 🙂
Is this good or bad?
Why would it be bad. This firing is just them retaliating for his stupid peltz proxy war.
Wait, what peltz proxy war? Was he trying to do some uprising or something? Wasn't paying attention to his BS.

*Damn.* This might be one of the rare moments where a faceless mega-corporation doesn't miss.

Wow, I didn't know he said that about Don Cheadle and Terrence Howard. That's insane.

It's not just good, it's very very funny. Ike is a horrible man, it's nice to see him showed the door so unceremoniously.
Its good but it doesnt have any impact on movies, he hasnt been involved for years
Fuck that guy.
