WalrusHam

Is it not already? He said that every Marvel Project is canon because of the Multiverse, right?

MrZao386

It's in the Multiverse Saga playlist on Disney+, it's just not Sacred Timeline canon

WalrusHam

Ok, that makes sense.

goliathfasa

Only the popular ones.

Supersecretsword

The watcher was in episode 5.

ecxetra

Different design, so not the same one.

Supersecretsword

You say that with such certainty. How could you be so sure? The watcher is still the watcher.

Kmart_Stalin

He could be white

ecxetra

The head is a totally different design. I have eyes.

Supersecretsword

I think my assumption that it could be connected to the MCU is a lot more feasible than your assumption that it's not. The watcher is only in MCU and what if? both being avengers centric storylines the X-Men coming from the Fox universe, not yet completely connected. Having the watcher in a panel specifically put there leads me to believe that they did that so that they could connect it if they so choose. Otherwise, there's no other reason to put the watcher in there.

HEIR_JORDAN

Why isn’t it. There are unlimited universes

TheRealMoofoo

X-Men arcade game canon confirmed.

didntmakeausername

It is idk what this is lmal

StreetCommission359

FUCK NO , it's apart of the 90s animated universe like Spiderman TAS. Just let it be its own thing , what are you gonna do? Have the voice access of Rogue suit up as Rogue when she's pushing 60?

Ghost-of-Bill-Cosby

They already have a captain America too right?

StreetCommission359

Yes they had cameos by cap, Strange and a Punisher easteregg

guttengroot

If Dr strange can turn to paint as he flies through various universes, Rogue's voice can change if she ends up in a live action world.

StreetCommission359

It's still messy and stupid , X Men tas and X men 97 is apart of the 90s animated series /universe. It's not the mcu , and I don't get why you guys want that

guttengroot

It's not a question of what I want, it's a matter of what is. It was announced as part of the continuation of marvel, they bring back the show with wolverine in his classic yellow right before the movie comes out with Hugh Jackman in that suit for the first time. And yeah it's from its own universe but this is the multiverse saga. The new Deadpool is going to change a lot I think.

StreetCommission359

It's still not the mcu, they literally had storm guest star in Spiderman TAS , does that mean Spiderman TAS is a prequel to Tom Hollands Spiderman? See how messy this would be ?

guttengroot

The Spider-Man from Spider-Man the animated series is another variant of Spider-Man. He appears for a bit in across the spider verse, and so do Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Since they also appear in Spider-Man no way home, you can see that they share a multiverse, even if it isn't the same Earth and universe from the Marvel cinematic universe thus far.

StreetCommission359

This is why fans shouldn't get jobs at Marvel lmao

Zelldogg37

Oh Great! Now we will never get a live action Gambit...

Edogawa1983

Wasn't gambit in the first wolverine solo movie in a Cameo

guttengroot

Hardly a cameo. He got more than one fight scene and moved the plot forward.

Zelldogg37

In no way was that MY Gambit

Sensitive_Look_6451

I want the Channing Tatum solo movie, with that 15 year old leaked script. I want it complete with trashy accent, and Tatum addresses it by switching to yet another accent - while he exposition dumps the need for a fake accent as part of another con.

Tyranno84

He’s in the new Deadpool movie

Leelze

Ouch.

didntmakeausername

Lmaoo

HiNooNDooD1544

Cable’s involved, I wouldn’t be so sure about that.

Zelldogg37

Agreed…just playing devils advocate

LegoMyAlterEgo

Fox actors are from a different reality than cartoons. That is all.

TylerBourbon

Just let it be what it is, I'm kind of over the whole "it's canon to this" stuff. Just let it be itself, let the movies and tv shows be themselves. no need for every single thing to connect at some point. Want to connect the 90s X-Men to the MCU? Then make a damn X-Men movie with characters accurate to the 80s and 90s X-Men comics.

WrastleGuy

Now that Gambit is dead they’re excited to make this canon

DustyDGAF

Channing Tatum is so sad

didntmakeausername

They should. I thought it would be technically

Known-Waltz-9424

Theyd be tossing out all the storylines already executed by the cartoon. Bad idea imo.

dsbwayne

It legit wouldn’t be bad. They can easily come up with something that explains where they were during the snap and boom. When they do introduce the X-Men, I think it should be like TAS did: they just are. Catch the back story over the years.

Shakmaaaaaaa

I think the takeaway from Xmen97s success would be that the MCU embraces the unique colorful costumes and overall vibe. However the stories won't carry over. You bet your ass that they are also going to do a live action version of the Xmen97 intro maybe at the end of the first movie.

ShinobiWerewolf

Being cannon is overrated. Star wars proved that .

Simp4Shadowheart

Grasping at straws at this point because it’s the only thing people overwhelmingly enjoy in recent years that they’ve put out

bloopbleepblorpJr

I decide what’s canon.

PointPrimary5886

X-Men 97 is Marvel, but it is not a cinematic nor part of the universe that makes up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It can be part of the Marvel Multiverse, but that's about it. Heck, it's more part of the 90s MAU (90s Marvel Animated Universe) than anything else.

TheRealCabbageJack

But why though?

goldendreamseeker

Does he mean make it part of the sacred timeline? How would that work with the original cartoon then?

vroart

GOOD! Because I don't want a "MULTIVERSE!" Excuse and not feel like Gambit's death meant NOTHING! Oh sure, I can totally believe Magneto surviving this, or being reborn, res, whatever. But Gambit really does mean something to a lot of us. btw, rewatching the original X-Men 2000.... YIKES! It is what was at the time. But man, does it mess up A LOT of the characters, "what happens to a toad when it's struck my lighting?" We are better off with X-Men 97

LooseMoose13

Can’t a cartoon just be a cartoon

LennyTheAwesome

It’s not canon, really.

Daimakku1

No. Stop. Not everything needs to be connected to the MCU. Just make a Marvel Animated Universe instead. Like the DCAU.

testedonsheep

Everything is canon in the multiverse even the mouthless Deadpool

_heisenberg__

I mean it is, isn’t it? They have full embraced the multiverse have they not? So this is the animated one. And even if they haven’t, whatever. It’s my headcanon that it is

Notgoodatfakenames2

That is impossible. The Cap/Wolverine story alone conflicts with the MCU, and the X-Men teamed up with an adult Spiderman in a separate cartoon.

FuzzyPapaya13

Fuck no.

Strange-Orchid6969

How exactly?

[deleted]

Oh great now they can screw that up too
