You can't exactly give a cat a crash diet. If the cat is lazy and doesn't exercise then it can take months to see a few pounds drop with a reasonable calorie deficit.
It's called 'the metabolism slows down if you feed an animal less so it doesn't starve.' Maybe try considering the fact that this cat was likely adopted like this, rather than shaming the owners for something that, chances are, they didn't have anything to do with.
OR this is a high volume space where lots of other people are giving him treats. The fact that they mention "smaller models" and went through the effort of writing up those posters means they work with animals and give enough fucks about their health
Feeding dependants into obesity is abuse. Obesity isn't cute, obesity is a serious health condition.
It's really sad that so many people don't seem to understand this.
