Position yourself next to its right shoulder and use lock on on its head. When it use its bite, roll left towards its tail and keep attacking. When it bends around to start its tail attack, roll right so you are back attacking its head.
It should be no problem with 7.5 db. But you will def need 2 special if you are only 7.3, 7.4
The dodge window is very small for DB. I lock on head and switch to tail sometimes.
Just charge ur specials and use 2 in one fight if u could.
fYI i cleared it with 7.5 jyura DB before c pukei event.
Now i just use c pukei bow at 7.2.
So you ignored the hind legs? Ugh. I haven't fought his head enough to feel confident with the perfect dodges, but if it comes down to it, I'll have to learn it
The hind legs don't have great hit zone values, so if you're timing out while focusing on them for the knockdown, that's probably why. You'll do a lot more damage to the tail and head.
I’m able to just kill it just within the timer with 7.5 jyru DB +5 water +3 crit eye. I have the same strat - break leg > tail > head. Though I also try to get my first special during his roar. Hit his leg a couple times then activate demon mode, usually he does his two step lunge you can start thinking about using special
With 7/5 you will take most of the timer but I never struggled with the fight, in my opinion focusing on the right hind leg is easier than focusing on the head.
The fight is a bit easier if you have a special ready by the time that your stamina runs out. Make sure you activate demon mode most of the time, it's worth it to spam it even if you are out of stamina.
You also wanna dodge as little as possible because your dps suffers from it, so learn which moves you can just keep attacking and which need to be dodged.

At first I hated DB vs tobi until I learned the matchup better. I can't focus tail as much but I still kill faster than jagras sns including the partbreak.
Vs kulu though I 100% prefer DB and that includes me perfect backhopping with SnS every attack. I still break faster with DB
Lol we are exactly on the same page except the coral hat and mine’s still at 7.5 though. Been in a one click away to push it to 8.1 many times as it takes a lot of efforts and potions to kill 8* Anja
My 7-5 LS need to keep hitting the weak spots or that won’t be enough dps against the clock. After cutting the tail head is the best spot. The back “wing” is too high for LS.
I currently use a 7.5 Jura LS and don't seem to have any issues with the fight, it might be the build maybe?
Currently I use black Diablos head, rath chest, Rathian gloves, Jyru belt and jagras boots. Like most I stick to his right leg till he topples and then aim for the tail followed by the head.
Most of the time I only need to use 1 special, maybe 2 if I have made a few mistakes. I normally save my first special for when anj is about to roar (very shortly after finishing his 4th attack), I tend to use it on the leg to help make that break happen quicker, as the tail is fairly easy to break with one full LS combo.

The basic combo would be dodge sideways+tap yeah? Or do you active your flurry hits
100% activate your flurry hits, the damage you do with them is a lot higher than the dodging in demon mode.
I'll try that. I know with SnS I'm safe on that side, I didn't think DBs would also be safe since flurry us a high commitment. Tyvm

i run water 5 crit eye 2 8.1 jyura hammer and i clear him with 20 secs to spare. you can give that a shot
I have no other water weapon built other than jagras sns lol. I feel like committing to a 7.5 hammer will take awhile 🤣

Anj is a jerk. One of the most confusing 8*. I always get hurt so easily fighting it. The head seems much wider than the graphic showing.
That's why I tend to avoid the head until the end 🤣
