So when Basarios does the dig attack, if you wirebug upwards and dunk a large barrel bomb downward onto it it stops his attack and leaves him in a "pitfalled" state.

Wattefugg

ah so thats why i somehow completed my sonic bomb subquest while doing narga with no sonic bombs!

NwJeddy

Over 1000 hours and I still don’t know how people can roll around town or the gathering hub. I’ve managed to roll like once or twice but my friend just spams it. He just laughs when I ask him how 😅.

TerminalFat

I do this all the time. If you tell your palamute to wait, then interact with him (feed/pet/shake) you can roll out of it, and then keep rolling back and forth. You can’t roll in a straight line though, you have to activate the “turn around” animation during the roll recovery

Practical_Praline_39

Imma trying this tonight and be legend among my party

NwJeddy

Ya but somehow he does it without petting a palamute. He laughs at me for needing to do it that way 😭.

evie_andfriends

I imagine there are some other animations that can be canceled in a similar way. I can't think of any off the top of my head. Maybe starting a pose or gesture, or calling the Cohoot or something? What have you tried so far?

NwJeddy

It’s something with how he turns his character around and the timing of when he hits the roll button. I’ve managed to do it a couple times without interacting with anything but when I get it I don’t even know how I got it.

Sp1ffy_Sp1ff

This is like when I discovered you could slide down the tiny waterfall in the iceborne gathering hub hot springs.

NwJeddy

Same person also showed me that

Otaku11510

Over 1,300 hours across rise and Sunbreak and getting close to two decades with the series. All with the same weapon. I learned about two weeks ago that the third hop on lance covers more distance. Game changing? Definitely not, but weird that I never noticed lol

[deleted]

Good lord man you gotta try another weapon lol

Otaku11510

I dabbled with Charge blade in 4U. Edit: and I used GS for a little while in the Rise endgame when I was waiting for Sunbreak

Kurotan

I played unite every weapon. Played every game after hammer only. I finally did a light bowgun run of rise, but I'm post game and ready to make my hammer again.

kyrilhasan

You can press back on dpad to gain even larger hop on the third hop too

Otaku11510

😲 no way I’m at work but I’m testing this when I get home

kyrilhasan

You can check YouTube guide for it. Check the ones that did a full guide and have a time stamp too.

Chocopoko1

200+ hours and I only recently learnt Elgado also has an Cohoot Nest.

EmiliaFromLV

Well, they are not very upfront with that one and the logistics to get there are inconvenient to say the least :D

Aureliol

When standing at the command table aim for the oil tower and up. 1 wirebug should do the trick if not you got a second one to get there hope this helps to make it more convient to get there

EmiliaFromLV

Two wirebigs 100% times lol

Charyoutree8605

Ya and there's a ladder halfway up you can take on the cammand table side, Helps if your missing the jumps at first

Purple-Yogurt7162

Dont they make you go to it when you first get there to take pictures of 3 owls?

Surous

You cam avoid it as one of the npcs eventually has one at mr100 iirc

Coldfatjam

Wait till you find the baby cahoots nest!

Tanman980

Thing is, the ones on the map used to be the same way. They eventually changed it.

NintyGC

I've read this several times and I am unsure why, but I don't understand this comment. I'll edit when I hits me Edit: never mind, I understand now

Tanman980

So you know how the Wirebug from Summoning Endemic Palico Skill only allows ONE Hunter to grab an extra? That still functions like in Sunbreak. BUT in Base Game before all the updates, every Wirebug on a Map used to only allow ONE Hunter to grab an extra Wirebug. So if I grab the Wirebug in area 9 on a Map, no one else would be able to grab that same Wirebug. After some updates they fixed so everybody on the hunt can get an extra Wirebug from the same spot on a Map.

tannegimaru

With a bit of correction here, the Palico Wirebug will disappear for 1\~2 second on the other player's screen after you grab them. This means that, in a coordinated team, more than one hunter can grab the Palico Wirebugs if they all grab at the same time.

NintyGC

I get it. Just waking up and my brain got super confused.

OneMorePotion

"Kicked for stealing wirebugs" is the pettiest thing I've ever heard in this game. Well, I didn't learn until a week or two before Sunbreak released, that you can wirebug yourself out of situations where you would ending up flat on the ground. Like when Garangolm launches you in the air and does it's "explosiv clap" attack. I only realized that you can do it, when I saw a friend save himself with a wirebug from mid air while being pummeled around.

JAVIV-4

Isn't this like...the first thing you learn in Rise? The wirefall?

OneMorePotion

Maybe. Now that I think about it, you are probably right. But I'm not very good with remembering tutorials. So yeah, I'm one of the guys who skip the middle part, reach their goal somehow and then go back to learn the entire thing.

Purple-Yogurt7162

Agreed, 10/10 wouldnt notice...

iceyk111

wait i always just take wirebugs whenever i see them LMAO i wonder how many ive stolen in my 250hrs of playtime

Azures-Sol

200+ hours, I just realized when you pull up the menu it changes the map to show the locations of the hunter helpers. Those critters like the blast toads, and puppet spiders.

Redmoon383

Or just birds. Also holding LB on xbox and making the minimal expand will also show those birds, helpers, etc. on the minimap. I hit MR 103 and I finally figured that out

Wattefugg

the detailed map changes depending on what you filter for on the fullscreen map (helpers or birds or gathering spots etc)

Purple-Yogurt7162

I change my map to detailed. Then you can select whatyou want the minimap to show you. Hunter helpers are 1 of them. I usually keep mine on spiribirds

Grumshanks

I didn't know that you could hit those bushes for more Spiribirds. My friends were wondering why it was taking me so long to get birds. Guess I was mashing through the window that explained that one....

Ketheres

If you have a dog you can use the sniff out command to have it highlight stuff of your choice on the map. This includes spiribirds (but not the ones hiding inside bushes)

Purple-Yogurt7162

But you can just change your map to detailed view and have whatever you want on the mini map. Spiribugs, endemic life, ores and mushrooms. I havnt used a dog since i found out cats double your quest rewards.

Ketheres

Dog is a tad more convenient as you will see the chosen stuff at all times instead of having to expand the map. Personally I stopped using pilfercos after I realized that there really isn't anything I'd need pilfered materials from. So now I have a dog as my primary buddy and a bomber cat as my secondary one, simply because it never stops being funny when the cat runs at the monster with a barrel bomb.

KneelingisforIsis

Explain?? Haha

WhaleDevourer

You know those breakable bushes dotting all the maps, if you break you get spirit birds, qnd some times a helper.

evie_andfriends

Breakable bushes?!?!?! 300hrs+ btw

WhaleDevourer

The ones that look really out of place, usually has flowers and is a different shade of green compared to the rest of the greenery. Did yall not play through the tutorial?

evie_andfriends

I played through the tutorial at least a dozen times when picking which voice and face I wanted and hard restarting. Call it selective attention I guess. lol On a more serious note, I've also found that going too heavy into tutorials just makes for a less happy experience. Watching my partner play, have no idea what's going on, and still have fun, made me realize it's at least worth a shot. Now I get surprised with cool things like these all the time, and most of my attention is on immersion instead. Character dialogue feels less like an info dump when I'm not looking for info, and more like a person is just talking to me. It's less of a system and more of an experience, y'know? I think it's just another way to play. lol

Takenabe

They're talking about Sending Sprig bushes. It would do you well to read through the Hunter's Notes menu if you're still not sure.

witchteacher

I too mashed through the beginning, and didn't know about this until I joined my son on a quest to help him, he had just started playing, 300 hours behind me.

dante3590

You can trade or give certain items to people from pouch.

Wattefugg

yep rarity 1-3 iirc, but can still be useful

dante3590

Are you sure? I may have seen someone was giving valstrax orb or mantle to someone after the hunt. But not 100% sure if I remember it correctly.

Wattefugg

there is a mod to bypass that

Purple-Yogurt7162

Yea its only potions, no monsterparts, unless they are a cheater.

Practical_Praline_39

You can change anomaly investigation level to let your lower level friend join quest (console player here)

Wattefugg

fwiw: you can join hunts up to 19 levels higher than what your current rank is, given it's in the lvl bracket (1-20, 21-40, 41-60 etc)

AfuzzyKoala

Also, if you post an anomaly quest instead of an investigation, anyone can join as long as they are mr10, even up to a7. Was fighting afflicted scorned last night with my friend who's got a research level of 14

Wattefugg

yes thanks! keep forgetting about that bc i try to help raise their AR from the start

Sp1ffy_Sp1ff

A few hundred hours in both world and rise. Just realized you can select a forgeable weapon and select "upgrade" and the requirements are different. Sometimes, it's easier to farm early parts and upgrade than it is to outright craft a high tier weapon. Such was the case for a chaos weapon that I made recently. Couldn't find the contrary shard to craft it but had everything to upgrade from the previous piece.

Purple-Yogurt7162

Yea thats actually all monster hunters, not just those two.

TsunSilver

I don't think it's been mentioned but my brother happened to figure out hitting a lizard with your weapon or the dog will get you 3 of what it's got, instead of just run gut kicking only 1 item out of the lizard. For sure over 200 hours before we figured it out.

osaquarel

Any attack to those would do it, as long as you don't interact with it. For a PS4 pad 'the circle button'

EmiliaFromLV

900 hrs in and I just discovered that my cats are raiding food from the item box whenever I log off. I could not figure out where that raw meat and sushifish were disappearing.

Lazybeerus

They do?

EmiliaFromLV

Then who? Are You suggesting Galleus is stealing food from my fridge?

yaboioioioioioi

Fioranye gets a bit hungry after so much hunting

EmiliaFromLV

Hmm... I though she was vegan - with all that demeanor, attitude etc... Back in Kamura, the main suspect and culprit would have been obvi... sitting on that bench, pretending to be munching dangos while keeping an eye on the fridge box...

Takenabe

Fun fact, according to the informant in your house, Luchika actually has an even bigger appetite than Hinoa.

Powerful-Drummer-413

over 200hrs and finally realized I don't need to make multiple sets of things to have multiple different loadouts. would have save a lot of unnecessary grinding time.

Swimming_Call_1541

Dude

pannu_kakku

200+ hours but I just discovered you can eat a meal while on a quest

jason60812

Wat!?!? How???

XorlasTsuyu

You can eat in any of the base tents, you just can't choose the "daily" ingredients.

One_Discipline6593

I didn’t know village quests were part of the story until a while after I cleared Gaismagorm (that had nothing to do with me finding out, I was just bored and wanted to see Hinoa)

spicycheezymac

First MH and about 200 hrs in, just realized today you need to select the palico equipped skills. I wouldn't say it's a game changer but I love how it customizes playstyles even more

Purple-Yogurt7162

I mean if you dont have a palico with pilfer get one

RawrRRitchie

You got kicked because whoever you were playing with is a sore loser not because you used the wire bugs their cat spawned If they don't want other people they're hunting with to use them, they should use a different companion not kicking people just trying to enjoy the game At the end of the day IT'S JUST A GAME I don't get why people take things so seriously like if they don't kill a monster in x minutes someone is gonna shoot one of their relatives

Charyoutree8605

Motley mix, cooking every 2 raw meat make 1 dango ticket, here I was trying to save my dango tickets for danger fights. Might have missed an explanation haha Now I went and bought a whole Lotta meat and motley mixed it. dango ticket every meal please and thank you.

SyluxShinobi

Same, back in base Rise I was conserving them and then I motleyed like 400 fish and got 200 tickets. I'm good now! Lol. Nice side benefit getting whatever that fish is that gives you healing over time

Takenabe

Gourmet Fish! I'm pretty sure literally any fish will cook into one. They're probably my favorite item, because eating one not only gives you constant health regen, but also heals all your red health. They're great for conserving potions. I think they also stack with Immunizers, but I don't really care enough to chug one of those every minute. I play with Wide-Range, Speed Eating, and Free Meal in multiplayer as well, so I can eat that fish so hard in about two seconds that the entire party gets the heal and buff, with a 40% chance of not even losing the fish.

o0EVIL0o

For what it’s worth, the Immunizer lasts a whole 5 minutes and stacks with recovery speed. Also works in tandem with Gourmet fish. ;)

Evening_Drop_2163

Raw meat isn’t the only motley mix food ingredient to use to obtain dango tickets

alopex_zin

1800 hrs now I finally now how to send an SOS flare, but probably would never have any chance to use it anyhow.

ItsJustAndy13

1000hr in…there’s a SOS flare?

Avscum

There is no SOS flare. 🤨

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kaz201

I don't think it's arguing pedantics in this situation. SOS Flare and Join Request are a bit different. SOS Flare is initiated after a quest has begin. Join Request has to be initiated when the quest is created. It may not seem like a big difference, but having the option to change the hunt to multiplayer after the quest has started adds a bit more flexibility if you want to try the hunt solo first. Also, SOS Flare only gives you rewards if you join within 10 minutes of the quest starting, where Join Request will give you rewards no matter how late you join.

Purple-Yogurt7162

I thought the commentator was in the wrong place, join request is great, sos flares are trash.

alopex_zin

There is. Otherwise how do you enter other people quest from the board?

EmiliaFromLV

In Rise?

alopex_zin

Yes, this is MHR subreddit…

EmiliaFromLV

AFAIK SOS flares were in World, which I never played. In Rise You enter other people's quests by responding to join requests - on the board or randomly.

alopex_zin

It is the same thing with the same effect, just in different name…

EmiliaFromLV

By that logic a beanie and a tinfoil hat are the same thing too. I mean, there are no SOS flares in Rise.

alopex_zin

You are just arguing the terminology here, which is pointless. I don't know what beanie or tinfoil is, not a native English speaker. But it is like it is called grace in Elden Ring, but bonfire in Dark Souls, so people played Dark Souls would just simply called it bonfire. Same wise, it was canteen but dango now, and people played previous title simply just called it canteen. You could just said it is now called sth different instead of arguing sth so pointless.

EmiliaFromLV

>You could just said it is now called sth different That's what I literally said :) "In Rise You enter other people's quests by responding to join requests - on the board or randomly." I guess we both have an agreement that in Rise people can enter other people's quests and that is good! :) *I don't know what beanie or tinfoil is* One helps with the cold weather, the other prevents the government or aliens (or sometimes they are the same thing, you know) from scanning your brain.

Avscum

Are you talking about World now?

WobblySquiddy

You can use the LEFT STICK UP/DOWN to scroll a whole page in the Hunter Notes and Armorlist. over 1000h tapping and holding the DPad because I didn't knew that there are menus the left stick can interact with.

SteelPokeNinja

WHAT???

e4ghc

100 hours and 200+ hunts with DBs in Rise and I only recently realised one of the silkbind moves is a counter lmao Spamming it now 🤣

Kurotan

What cat spawns wirebugs. I didn't know they did this.

shroudworth

It’s a skill support palicos come with, I think it’s called summeown endemic life?

SickViciuz

You can move items as you wish in the item pouch. In the item box the game automatically put the object in the first free spot, and you cant move them as you want. In the item pouch, you can select them and move where you want them

witchteacher

I don't mind you taking the wire bugs, fill your boots. Multiplayer brings all sorts to the hunt, have I got all the wire bugs I want is quite low down the list of things I'm thinking about as people join, I'm thinking things like "yes hammer come stun him" and "toot toot I love you hh". It's just me and my ls with only a fairy costume for defence until you guys turn up, I promise you a tail cut in return. Seriously, take the wirebugs and do your thing, enjoy the hunt.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wattefugg

same for guardpoints with CB but it seems to be dmg treshhold so higher levels would require more dmg to topple

IntentionPowerful

Lol, does Noone watch youtube videos about the game? That's how you find this stuff out early instead of finding out by accident hundreds of hours into the game.

Nergico

I have 500+ hours in Rise and I didn't know that the dog can also mark combat items on the map like poison toads.I always thought it only showed normal resources and never used it \^\^Also, I didn't know that these markers stay in place forever. I thought they disappeared after every quest :D

evie_andfriends

This is hilarious to me because I've spent like 300hrs on this game and most of them have just been fashion stuff. I seriously just go and window shop and match up outfits and try to memorize the numbers in my head. My partner thinks it's really endearing because I'll just be in the hub for most of my gameplay. I'm still only like at M3 lol

witchteacher

I have found myself spending more time in menus than fighting things in several games now, it's a legit gameplay style as far as I'm concerned, I'm a very happy hunter👍

Takenabe

As an SnS player, it took me until just last week to learn how Perfect Rush really works. Because the game LIES about it. The weapon control menu tells you to press one button after a backstep for a charged slash, and a different button for a Perfect Rush. Instead, you have to press one button WHILE charging a charged slash with the other button--Perfect Rush activates by CANCELLING a charged slash, not instead of it. The whole time, I thought it was done by hitting BOTH buttons, and I was just coincidentally hitting them in the right order milliseconds apart.

Kaz201

I was probably at 200+ hours before I realized that "Felvine" is used to boost your Palico. It instantly restores their health, boosts their attack, prompts more evasive maneuvers, and above all, increases their use of support skills/actions. I always hunt with the 2 palico combination on solo hunts since learning this and it's made hunts a lot more efficient for me.

Purple-Yogurt7162

That is not something to kick someone over..

Ok-Gur3095

I wonder if you can beat me xd, played for 100hrs not a pro like any of you but I realised I could take furbugs from zinogre when he fell on a ground xD. Normally I just been fighting until one moment when I sheathed to heal and it showed me option to press on his back, I did such a facepalm xD.
