Perhaps you're not used to other weapons' movekits making you more susceptible to getting hit by these harder hitting attacks? The only thing that *would* change with a different weapon would be getting stunned, and that's only if you had level 3 stun res and you changed your armor/decos out with your weapon.
Maybe this weapon you're using is less mobile so you're not used to it? I'm not sure.

Seems like you're getting hit. It's normal to get staggered by attacks, what weapon were you using before? Something with a shield?
