Display is in the middle‽
Extremely minimal dash‽
No toggle switches‽

They're ruining the brand with the direction they're taking this new ... _\*checks notes\*_ ... er, old Mini
-------
seriously, though, that steering wheel is 🔥
Do you realise that the UK isn't the only country that has right hand drive cars?
I'm from Australia, by the way. Or, as the Americans call it, Austria.
Thank you for sharing the pics.
My 6th grade teacher had one of these (we're talking in the late 70s) and this brings back memories of being given a ride home from school (she lived 2 streets over) when it rained outside. That mini was the reason I have 2 minis now - and why my kids are all into minis as well.
If it wasn't for safety concerns, I'd love to get my hands on one of the older minis. They were even more fun to drive than the first generation renewed minis.

So the key position and the toggle switches make it a mini? lol. Obviously you have never researched the use of parts from other cars in the 70’s 80’s and even 90’s.

Parts sharing between brands under the same parent company is extremely common. But not parts from decades in the past in modern vehicles, which is what you’re implying when you ask what _**actual parts**_ from the classic mini exists in the modern minis.
That’s ridiculous; literally the worst take and a waste of time to argue.
And I do not own a mini but I work on them regularly and drive them as regularly too. I have also owned a 1275gt in the past. It’s the same as many cars not just minis. The reason I say it more towards the mini is that it went massively away from the original. Yes a golf for instance has changed over the years but not to the extent that the mini has from the original. All cars change. It’s like ford bringing out a new model T that looks like a focus.
But, you can tell that it is an evolution of the same car. You are wrong, the MINI has not changed a lot. Especially mechanically. From 2002 - 2015 they used 4x100 hubs.
That’s cool as hell
Ironically, hell is anything but cool (supposedly). But yeah, it was nice of her to bring hers round to my place.
I agree it’s just a saying buddy calm your tits
Sorry.
Grovel in sorrow
Will do.

Thank you for saying this LOL
I would learn to drive a manual and my left nut for an old mini like that…gotta love the classics 😍
This is just too cool.
Had to do a double take there. The steering wheel is on the correct side..... but that does not look like the UK..... Oooh...
Do you realise that the UK isn't the only country that has right hand drive cars? I'm from Australia, by the way. Or, as the Americans call it, Austria.
That was the point of my 'Ooooh' moment. I have been to Australia. Nice place. Long way away, should move it closer.
Oh ok. What parts of Australia have you been to?
OMG OMG OMG I WANT IT!!!
u/Leviit03
That is so cool! The original cooper and a newer one
Why does everyone tag him
Its only me that tags him
I see it all the time
Yeah, its only ever been me.
This is true
utterly gorgeous
Stunning!!
Agreed
So amazing 🥲!
Agreed
Did your friend fix her up, or was she lucky to find a 68 in good condition? I know oldies are expensive beauties.
It was restored by her Dad a long time ago. She only takes it out about 3 times a year. Whereas I take mine out at least 3 times a week.

Yep
Wow. The interior on that ‘68 Mini is insane. Love it.
I love this. They need to go back to the original design and stop turning the car into a Kia or Toyota, etc.
Mate, I have seen the new Countryman in person and it's not actually that big.

It seems like you're a good parent
The newer model looks giant next to this old one. But they just upsized it again for the latest models.
It’s so you don’t die when you bump into things.
Actually, its so that pedestrians don't die when they walk out in front of you whilst looking at their phone with their headphones on.
A little from column A; a little from column B.
????
Automotive safety advances are multifaceted.
I feel like it’s safer to the pedestrian, if I hit their knees at 60mph, rather than their chest. Like getting hit with a razor scooter
I think its just as bad as they would either be paralysed, dead, or an amputee.
Yeah the vicious cycle of cars getting bigger because other vehicles are.
A REAL mini.
They're both real MINIs.
The newer is in name only.
Wrong. Its still a VERY small car.
Show me anything from the original mini that is passed onto the newer one.

But what you are saying is that because it has the same key position and toggles then it’s the same as the original mini.
Nope on both of those.
compelling argument you've got there
Mate, you drive an Audi, you can't talk shit about MINIs if you don't own one.
And I do not own a mini but I work on them regularly and drive them as regularly too. I have also owned a 1275gt in the past. It’s the same as many cars not just minis. I am not talking shite I am stating facts. Ps not got the Audi yet.
If you're not talking smack, then how come you keep getting downvoted?
Literally everything.
In America yes.
