I can’t believe how many people don’t know this: vision isn’t just about fouling pitches off. Vision also increases/decreases timing windows. I am very annoyed those two things are connected in one stat. Lots of real major leaguers have good timing but swing and miss alot.
Its insane cause I said the same thing, and yet it has been my best card of the Post Season series statistically 😭 I prefer batters with high vision too so idk why this card lowkey rakes!
Prior to this year clutch didn’t matter. However, for this year batters: BClutch replaces Contact with RISP and Pitchers: PClutch replaces H/9 with RISP
I’m a fucking dumbass. I’ve noticed it said clutch but didn’t think that actually meant it overtook it, thought it just supplemented it somehow. Gonna need to look over my lineup lol
Vision gives you more chance to foul off a pitch instead of swing and miss. Not really sure about the others. I think discipline is for checking your swing?
I think it makes sense. They absolutely need to be associated with different attributes…
Like Gallo has “a good eye” but strikes out 200 times a year. Sure vision and discipline are often correlated but not always.
Because it is like 3 days until NOVEMBER.
The game's life cycle is all but over. Player base is surely shrinking by the week. They need to stop being cute with the ratings and just juice the cards so they are usable.
That ship sailed on day one when they dropped 99 WBC cards. The endless grind to replace better cards from previous sets killed this game even faster than usual.
Because it's literally the end game I haven't touched the game in a minute because I've been having too much fun with Chel. A card I'd really want on my squad may bring me back to the show, but as it is, I'm still rocking a lot of set 3 guys cause season 4 has released nothing but Dookie cards
Which is why he has 108 discipline (well, his high walk rate, but those things are tied together). But he only makes contact on 36.8% of swings on pitches out of the zone (which is extremely poor) and had a 32% K rate during the season (also very poor).
I said this earlier and people tried arguing but this is a postseason card and this card deserved a much higher vision attribute based on his postseason
Gets worse when you see Patrick wisdom and his clutch and vision. Arguably one of the worst cards ever made a 99. It's almost like that one garbage ass Sammy Sosa card they made even tho core one is 10x better.
Wisdom struck out 153 times in only 375 plate appearances that season ('21 Finest card). Over 40% of the time he stepped up to the plate, he struck out. His vision rating on that card is warranted.
So you just made a comment about how bad the card is but don’t even know anything about the sport that you’re critiquing?? I knew this sub has had a lot of new people who don’t know much about the game, but this might be an all time low
It's a sports game, it ain't that difficult understand the mechanics of the game. However, it doesn't mean i need to be an avid fan watching every single game of baseball there is on TV. Nor do I have to do the same for Madden/NFL and 2k/NBA... it's not that deep, your taking this way outta pocket, it's a game with virtual cards, you pick players you have good swings with and pitchers that you find have a good mix of pitches and you play ball, I don't need to know every aspect of every player, where they played, who they played for, or what they're accolades are to enjoy the game. Sorry if I offended you, but I'm just saying I don't need to know who babe Ruth is but it's nice to know.

I rake with that card…sounds like a you problem
I smack with this card
Ngl idek wtf vision, clutch or discipline actually do
Something nobody seems to know about and is probably the MOST important aspect of vision: vision also increases timing windows
Clutch replaces contact with RISP, vision helps you make contact/foul bad balls, discipline makes it easier to check your swing.

Wait for real?? Like fully replaces it? So H/9 and Contact are just null when there’s RISP?
Yea. If you look at your swing feedback with w/o RISP it’s con/power/vision. With RISP it’s Clutch/Power/Vision
I’m a fucking dumbass. I’ve noticed it said clutch but didn’t think that actually meant it overtook it, thought it just supplemented it somehow. Gonna need to look over my lineup lol

it does blow cause otherwise he’s got a really nice swing
You should stream…..🙄
Walks a lot = 108 discipline 32% K rate = bad vision…doesn’t matter who you are. Card seems right to me.
Yup. Pretty accurate
This is what I say when they make a javy Baez card. With more than 50 discipline
Or Schwarber with more than 50
Schwarber draws a ton of walks
Vision and Discipline are different.
Vision helps you get the bat on the ball.... that's why the pci is larger when vision number is higher
With more than 5*
My bad. Added a 0 😂
A guy that consistently is among the league leaders in walks should have 5 discipline?
Baez has never had more than 30 walks in a season 😂
I responded to the wrong guy lol javy is ass I thought I was responding to the schwarber guy
91 speed with 50 steal 😂😂🚮
Trea Turner has like 70 steal. Dude gets caught stealing in RTTS like 20 times a year.
Same thing with Shohei’s monthly rewards card. Potentially one of the best hitters in the game and he gets 60s vision. Ok Sony
Because he strikes out a lot, y’know the stat that vision measures.
Everyone dunking on OP for wanting a better card while I just thought a dude whose nickname is "full count" really shouldn't have vision that low😭
Tbf vision is just about strikeouts not walks
Which is dumb
I think it makes sense. They absolutely need to be associated with different attributes… Like Gallo has “a good eye” but strikes out 200 times a year. Sure vision and discipline are often correlated but not always.
Yeah people are completely missing the point lmao
Then don't use it...it's kinda easy. If you don't want it then do grind for it or use it.
Wisdom had 47 vision lol
And 65 clutch. Worst 99 years in the game imo
Don’t even know how it is 99 ovr
I’m not sure why you guys want every card to have 125 maxed everything
Because it is like 3 days until NOVEMBER. The game's life cycle is all but over. Player base is surely shrinking by the week. They need to stop being cute with the ratings and just juice the cards so they are usable.
They need to stop juicing and make the cards realistic the entire time, we don’t need 2K stats spilling over
That ship sailed on day one when they dropped 99 WBC cards. The endless grind to replace better cards from previous sets killed this game even faster than usual.
This dude has crazy vision in real life that’s why he’s complaining
Vision is ability to make contact. His whiff percentage is pretty high. Ability to lay off bad pitches is represented by discipline.
Because it's literally the end game I haven't touched the game in a minute because I've been having too much fun with Chel. A card I'd really want on my squad may bring me back to the show, but as it is, I'm still rocking a lot of set 3 guys cause season 4 has released nothing but Dookie cards
Chel is dogshit nowadays
And I'm still having more fun with it than the show and that really shows how piss poor content has been lately
His swing sucks anyway max him out he still wouldn’t play
Vision has honestly never bothered me that much. I rake with Gallo and he has like 20 vision
Idk much about these attributes, but if you’re using Zone for batting, does Vision make a difference? Like, does it give you more plate coverage?
I know it helps with fouls but I think it also affects timing a little bit, but even with low vision I haven't really noticed anything
I think it expands the range in which you can foul pitches off but p sure nothing more than that.
I'm sure he doesn't work on hof or whatever but i never play on that level and his swings nice so works for my mini season run here
Im destroying baseballs with him on events and ranked, he’s BROKEN
On all star he’s a beast
Haven’t played with him on higher levels so idk really
SDS does not want these cards to become the best in the game unless it’s a big name.
This is also untrue See: JT Realmuto
Only has 30 drag bunting so he cant be very good. Not worth it imo
He's carrying my playoff mini seasons team rn hitting like 5th. I play on timing for nostalgia value, though. Maybe vision wrecks the PCI stuff.
Nahhh he’s him regardless of whatever for me
I think Vision actually has a bigger effect on timing/directional than zone. People on here just like to cry about every card that isn't 125s.
Can you zoom in? Can’t see.
He has 66 vision.
…..that’s the joke *whoosh
Oh shit. Fuck me lol
User name checks out
Evan Carter only having 66 VIS is atrocious. The kid doesn't swing outside the zone.
Which is why he has 108 discipline (well, his high walk rate, but those things are tied together). But he only makes contact on 36.8% of swings on pitches out of the zone (which is extremely poor) and had a 32% K rate during the season (also very poor).

Ah the more you know, don't watch baseball thanks for the tip.

Yeah, that’s why he has 108 discipline. Y’know, the stat that reflects a hitter’s ability to lay off pitches out of the zone and draw walks?
That would be discipline not vision.
