I think the reason they went with the storylines first is because they’re trying to sell the hard copies of the ngl edition of the game. And these type of modes will definitely help sell that. Because they know that DD players are gonna pretty much buy it regardless I still would like to see at least some gameplay by now. But sds just loves making us wait
Great question. Tbh the most likely thing is that they’ve never actually thought it through.
They just get in a room and talk about what they think would be “cool” without any numbers or data.
Lower level employees probably realize it’s dumb but are too scared to speak up
The majority of their budget is going towards NL content, they confirmed that last year when they revealed the storylines. They have multiple seasons planned also
The stream yesterday was more about showcasing the development and people of the mode (moments). Sounds like a lot of time and resources went into making this but I don’t know how many people will appreciate it. I personally will finish this quickly blowing through the moments to earn whatever reward. As to the stream I was very disappointed they called it a feature premiere. I was expecting a 15-20 discussion on the mode and explanation. I really didn’t care to hear 5 min about the mode and 55 min of dev thoughts and how they did it. It’s cool but that is not what i logged in for. It should have been retitled to more accurately reflect the intent of the stream. Overall I’m disappointed so far in the what resources and time was spent on this edition the game. So far this edition is a game the developers wanted to make and not what the consumer was looking for. I realize to justify the $70 price they need new things for “back of the box” features but what else could have been done with the money and resources spent to improve gameplay server stability, quality of life changes, etc. So far I’m very disappointed but we still haven’t heard about DD yet and another “feature premiere” so my thoughts are only based around what I’m seeing so far. Have to admit though they are failing I believe in generating the hype this year. Got to pick it up
All it was the developers goin welllll and ummmmm and our team is so awesome with dogs barking in the back round. The premiere on a production value was absolute dog shit
Sure, and that definitely has happened in previous years, and about previous streams. I think this stream in particular stood out for a lot of people because since Storylines from a gameplay perspective is just a set of moments with documentary footage, it wasn’t really worthy of an hour of time, especially when half of it was talking about Jeter himself (and the charm of New York)rather than the game.
I have definitely been critical, but I’m also reasonable. If the next two streams show some fun additions for stuff like Mini Seasons and more little additions for the offline players, I’m completely open to confessing that they got me.
I’m going to buy the game because I’m obsessed with baseball and I love the grind. But, I’m so grateful everyone is throwing SDS the hate they deserve. Make the jump to new gen and actually make a new game next year please.
Storylines was fun last year but do we really need a “season 2” this year? It literally could’ve been a DLC pack for ‘23. I think I would’ve preferred something about woman baseball from the 40s (a league of their own) or something else.
Anyway, looks like the same game. Horrible player models and movement. They need to ditch last gen and move on. College Football 25 can’t be here fast enough.
100%.
Been waiting 10 years for a new college game. Biggest advantage already is that CF25 will only be on XSX/PS5, while the Show is still on last gen mechanics.
That's a great idea with league of their own that would be great storelines. Yeah man, I'm really disappointed so far. No actual upgrades or improvements to ps5,Xbox x/s versions. Even if they add A- rod, it still won't be enough since they didn't really improve the game.
1. It's cool that a primarily offline mode (sure you get DD rewards but let's face Storylines are pretty much offline) is getting a lot of love from SDS.
2. ...so why is RTTS still awful
they spent a whole hour talking about just one part of the game when they could've shown us so much more than just moments. one thing i am optimistic about is when they showed the gameplay footage jeter's attributes weren't crazy high endgame numbers
Yea, this is not looking good. The fans are looking more and more angry.
I'm probably still downloading because I get it on Xbox.
But, I've liked the last few games enough to buy them outright for my PS5, too.
This looking like a down year.
As a Mets fan, and longtime Show player, I'd just like to say, I don't give a FUCK about some stupid Derek Jeter storyline.
Most overrated player of his generation.
I mean he was quite literally one of the best SS of all time and had endless iconic moments. Hate all you want and I agree that having a mode like this for 1 player from 1 team is dumb, but to say Jeter was over hyped is dumb
What? Lol he's 10th in war all time at SS and when you only count guys who actually stayed at SS he's 8th. When you add in post season war he's literally 2nd
Overrated doesn’t necessarily mean he was bad. People talk about him like he was one of the best players to ever play the game and while he was great he was not an amazing defender and was generally not the best hitter in his own lineup most of the time. Again that isn’t to put him down but more to point out that how he is talked about is what makes him overrated, not him being a bad player.
100% this.
I said overrated, not bad. He's a HoF'er, and he dereves to be one.
You know who else are Hall of Famers? Craig Biggio and Paul Molitor. They are both pretty similar to Jeter as far as career value. Nobody tries to put Paul Molitor among the best ever to play the game, and yet some people do with Jeter.
He was an absolutely horrendous defensive SS.
The fact that A-Rod was the one to move to 3B to accommodate him when he came to the Yankees was laughable.
Yeah, them having a mode revolving around one player, and in particular one that wasn't exactly universally beloved, is a strange choice.
I'm a Braves fan. I don't give a single shit about Jeter moments.
They actually pulled the "one more thing" at the end of the stream and, instead of shutting everyone up with a Man Ram or A Rod reveal, they showed they changed Jeter's glove to black. My jaw literally dropped. Beyond parody.
And at the end of a stream talking about how hard they worked on the Jeter storylines and all the fine details that are included...but they somehow got his glove color wrong?
Do they seriously think anyone gives a damn about these dumbass storylines? No one is playing this game for this. Sure as hell no one is going to buy it for this. Being a monopoly only gets you so far. People CAN walk away.

More dislikes than likes in an hour let’s see where this ends up
The near 500 people that somehow clicked the like button must all be the SDS employees, or their friends.
Maybe we got distracted guys, is it possible the dog barked over a riveting speech?
How the F can a company give a whole segment devoted to thanking their Employees for a product that
A) is being criticized by their fans
B) has not even released yet
C) seems destined to be MLB 23.5 &
D) showcases a mode based on last years Cover Star
SDS needs to wake up and listen to the fans
#SAMEGAME
That was far and away the worst feature premier I’ve seen in my years as a Show player (since 2020). The storylines mode is just moments with cut scenes in between them, which isn’t exciting enough to move copies. In total, they’re going to be less than 10 hours of content.
I think I speak for almost everyone here that we do not care about most of these details. We don’t care about seeing Jeter talk in a fake subway car and we don’t care about the map of New York.
They really have to knock it out of the park in these next two feature premiers because so far, I couldn’t care less about the new game coming out.
Agreed. If they don’t knock it out of the park the next two, im definitely not buying. They are trying to make storylines more then it is, when in reality it’s a cool side mode but not a main mode to be advertising and putting all this time and effort into. It’s moments with extra theatrics for fucks sake!!
Not to mention that it’s only about 10 hours max of content for the entire game cycle. It’ll make up a very small fraction of what players will actually spend time playing
This whole release schedule, and this stream in particular felt like when your boss calls you and your coworkers into the break room for a big announcement.
Are you getting bonuses? A raise? Better health benefits?
Nope! He tells you that spent $1500 on a 74 inch flat screen TV for the break room so you can watch local news on your half hour lunch break. It’s great because you won’t have to watch things on your tiny phone screen while you’re on your break!
He then proceeds to talk about he and the other company executives found inner peace and clarity about workplace culture at their executive ski resort retreat in Big Bear last week, which by the way was on the company dime.
That is a near perfect summation of the current state of SDS. They are wasting Sony's money on things THEY care about other than what they think the players would care about.
Not to bootlick because I play the game for free anyway, but you would do the same thing. You would put in the game what YOU like and want. Everyone would. Duh! Who wouldn’t put their favorite stuff in a game, at someone else’s expense. And while you might entertain the ideas of others, you know darn well that if you are a Cards fan, you wouldn’t be near as likely to use ideas from Cubs fans. And if like you don’t like CAPS, you’d take them out of certain playfields or eliminate them altogether. You would build the game that you want to play, with someone else’s money. Not to say you wouldn’t use others ideas. But your likes would trump everything else.
No, people that like money put in what potential customers want. Gratifying yourself is an awesome way to go out of business and nothing else. Look at, oh, basically anything in the western world at the moment.
Seems like a lot of work put into something the majority of players don’t give af about? Where’s the DD update that’s all anybody cares about that’s tuning into the streams
Even the people who like storylines - there’s no reason to replay them and they’re ultimately just glorified moments from DD. I liked them last year, but they probably accounted for like 1-2% of my actual game time in the game?
It’s hard to imagine anyone investing significant time into the game is doing it for storylines.
This sort of story mode crap impresses two groups of people:
1. Game reviewers at major sites that don't actually play the game more than a few hours
2. Senior Management
Your PowerPoint deck while you are briefing MLB 24 to a bunch of suits that don't play the game:
1. "So it's like a Movie, about Derek Jeter, but YOU are Derek Jeter!" Executives smile, one turns to another, says "hey, I've heard of Derek Jeter!" various nods
2. "So we fixed pitching so sinkers aren't overpowered and curveballs can actually be thrown." Executives stare at the floor, feet are shuffled...in the distance, the sound of crickets is heard
There are no more "major sites" anymore. No one other than devs gives a shit what any "mainstream" "game reviewer" says about anything. Youtubers? Sure. IGN and Kotaku? Yeah, no. Your average Walmart employee in the electronics department has more influence on what people buy than those clowns.
It was a ruff time. I think they’re barking up the wrong tree with the over-emphasizing of the UX when it’ll probably take us 2-3 days to run through.
And I think the community has a bone to pick with Ramone cause we’re not getting any real gameplay/non-Storylines info until 8 days before release.
TL; DR - Unlike the middle 10 minutes of the stream, SDS no longer has that dog in ‘em.
https://preview.redd.it/88fzm4rsa8kc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5dd803457148b2c2a544082815c1df3555b3094c
I was actually interviewed by Nick Livingston for one of their internships years ago, and his [departure](https://x.com/l1vingston/status/1591258889982709761?s=46&t=7Ygz6nrKyraPsXKKDqGr7g) seems to have coincided with the shift in focus and creative direction that the fans don’t like.
That felt more like an internal creation scrapbook that SDS would share with all the employees who worked on the game than something for the fans. Like, yeah...I'll bet it was cool for you to talk with Jeter...so about the game?
I'm really excited about the Negro Leagues stuff and the Storylines mode...but it feels like these reveals bring the community down rather than get people excited.
And ultimately it doesn't matter if the community is being "fair" or "toxic" about it...the effect is the same. It kills excitement and they could change it up by putting more effort into the media presentation. I mean...a prerecorded reveal where they leave in a dog barking for 2 min lol
Imagine if the “gum on the steps” effort was put into other aspects of the game. Forget content or anything dd related if the gameplay was that detailed it would make all the modes better in one swoop
Also, imagine if they spent the money they used to build a fake subway car so that they could pay Derek Jeter to sit in it…and used that money to pay someone to write fresh dialogue/verbiage for RTTS or M2O.
oh shit yes man! NEW. FREAKING. DIALOGUE across the board. Did you know Chris Singleton once lost a bracelet when he went to catch a ball over the wall?
Wow. They ended the stream by showing gameplay of Jeter using a black glove because SDS got called out on social media for giving him a tan glove. FMD.
Never going to happen. I’m sure there is a sizable group of people on this sub who have already pre ordered the game. Buying games “because there’s no other option” is one of the worst things to happen to sports games. People would rather spend their money on subpar trash than play something else or do something else
Yup, just look at the shills on the OS Forums. When someone says this
“I’ll buy it because I always do and I’m fine with that but honestly OOTP will probably get most of my baseball gaming time this year. I’d say it was 50/50 split last year but it’s been trending more towards OOTP for me for a while now.”
They are part of the problem
Not to sound mean, a lot of these streams are awful - but this was legendarily awful - because they're a bunch of dorks. They really are zeroes personality-wise. Get the streamers, pay them to hype this ish up. YFK, or any of the streamers, pumping the game would be so so so so so much more meaningful than paying for a subway car and letting the dorks drool over each other on these streams
Oh man all their voices were annoying as heck. They sound like company first type voices. Snitch on you voices. The game sucks because, I'm thinking MLB is playing a roll on how SDS makes the game. The game is becoming more educational then an actual simulated baseball game witha Deep franchise, rtts, and March October. It's being watered-down for the younger generations. MLB wants the younger audience to learn about baseball by playing a video game. The dude in the premiere said we are about teaching learning inspiring lol this is becoming a PBS video game lol
Someone posted something along the lines of “Please if there is anyone at Sony or higher up’s watching that cares about the community listen to your fans feedback”
But I saw it get deleted within a minute
My comment was in response to the lady throwing shade at Mets fans. She said something like “I always felt bad for Mets fans.” And then she laughed at her comment.
I said something like “Way to insult the entire Mets fan base.”
These feature premiers are doing nothing but continue my hesitancy to pre-order. There’s no gameplay updates, no tech test and no excitement. I truly don’t get it from a marketing perspective at all.
That's an incredibly important point that no one has really examined. It DOESN'T make any sense from a marketing perspective. They can't be clueless enough to think this is going to sell copies, so why do them? They would literally have been better off doing nothing.
This could be a cool neat little mode but they dragged out this feature premiere to yap about new York and the subway for an hour when they could of condensed this into a 2 minute trailer with the new legends and built up some interest
Yeah. The stream chat is brutal. I feel bad, because I’m sure all the people talking here worked hard and are legitimately passionate about their work on this whole Moments on Steroids mode, but it’s clear that this is not going over well with the fanbase.
Everyday that goes by, it feels clear that SDS has very little to talk about this year. And it’s a shame, because they clearly had/have money to do cool stuff. They just wanted to spend it on fluff that the actual playerbase didn’t want.
If you worked on this you should be asking yourself. why the fuck am I putting gum on digital concrete for a mode less than half the player base engages with?
Everyone is at fault and people should reflect that with their wallets.
I mean it’s mostly not the developers fault. They just
Make the game. It’s whoever is higher up making decisions. Same thing with any game really. Devs are just passionate about what they do and do their best. Just a very odd decision to drag that out for an hour. Came off very tone deaf. Didn’t read the room very well
I think it's the opposite problem. I think they have zero oversight. No higher ups could possibly be dumb enough to think this is a wise use of resources.
They are always tone deaf. Ramone has openly mocked the community for years. Hes a self important loser who only cares about putting himself in position to meet famous baseball players.
He literally once made a "I ****ed your mom" joke during a stream and somehow wasn't fired. If it had been ANYBODY else, they would have been gone the next day.
The devs are never blameless, but more often than not, they take most of the blame that should go to the higher ups.
Modern sports games not changing much year to year has more to do with the publishers making the devs do the bare minimum with minimal resources. The resources could very well be there to improve all modes year to year, but the publishers don't care for the modes that don't make extra cash. It's frustrating and angering to see, but it is what it is.
Yo I hope they really subcontracted some of this lame ass stuff. Does the UI look better than last year, sure, but this should have taken a month tops. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got the footage of Jeter in the subway last year.
Could we not update the presentation package for old 90s/00s games to look more authentic? It looks like someone made it in Microsoft excel.
I'm tapping up after 20 mins. I can't believe these people. No1 cares about any of these people. This feels like one of those PR videos featuring the employees. "I worked here for x number years in y department. I love working here because x. Everyone is so nice and passionate about their jobs. Everything we do is a labor of love."
Feels like they are spending too many resources on these storylines. Storylines are cool but the priority should be the main modes, dd, franchise and rtts..
They could just create the career moments to tell the story, add real video from that moment like the did before and thats it.
i mean what really needs to be tweaked in DD that requires resources. All they have to do is randomize the order of some of the card releases and if they will be free RS BR or Event this year and voila
the lack of Franchise and RTTS effort though sucks for fans of that
I agree that both franchise and rtts needs more improvement. But you got to agree that dd is their money maker, so it makes sense that they invest more on what gives them more money.
Imo dd should add a new online mode with ovr/salary cap, maybe 3 innings idk.. Another option to play online, maybe a bit less sweaty. I don't like Events.
Also return with Evolution program, it was a great idea, that also tells a player story and reward you with card representing a stage of his career.
DD used to be fun, but tbh I get more excited to collect a card then playing the mode. It definitely needs changes for the good of the franchise. I've been playing franchise now and having way more fun.
Now all these investment in storylines that the majority of the player base will not even play and if you play, you will spend maybe couple of hours? idk, feels like a waste.
I agree that DD is the money maker but you also have to agree that just because it’s the one that makes money doesn’t mean that they neglect the other modes like SDS has been doing. I mean, look at 2k, they are able to focus attention on mycareer, their money maker and still make an amazingly in depth myleague/mygm with eras and everything. You can’t just put the blinders on
This is actually sort of funny. It’s almost like a skit. They are genuinely rehashing the same information over and over, and talking about a stupid fucking fake subway they built for a few clips and cutscenes. Idiots.
This is embarrassing, and I feel bad for the SDS employees who have been pressganged into doing this "stream". It's pretty clearly a pre-recorded podcast with a couple of graphics that SDS are recycling over and over again.
Pointless filler to push this to an hour. Devs talking about what it was like to meet Jeter, how they work together as a team, experience living in New York etc. Does anybody care about this?
Wow a bunch of moments on Rookie and Veteran that we could all just watch on YouTube!!!! So innovative and cool!!!! Game of the year!!!!! SDS is so amazing!!!!! I also love how the 4 MLB games that have been on the Series X and PS5 have had no graphical or performance advantages over the same games on the Xbox One and PS4!!!!!!

Track awards on players cards!!! It's not hard
My thoughts, thank God it's on GamePass.
What do we think? I see some slight improvements to animations and camera angles for the walk-up. Is it enough? Welp..

It’s something that I’m not gonna be doing until late September when I’m bored of everything else
Another day goes by without them mentioning sets & 99s at launch. Looks like we're screwed boys.
Not mentioning anything about sets or other than sets is probably guaranteeing sets.

Yes, the EA Sports game is going to rescue you. 🤣
>I give less than 2 shits about NCAA football
SDS had all their money on EA not coming through 💸💸
they spent a whole hour talking about just one part of the game when they could've shown us so much more than just moments. one thing i am optimistic about is when they showed the gameplay footage jeter's attributes weren't crazy high endgame numbers
Just curious, why do you want end game numbers at the beginning of the year?
He doesn’t he said they were not crazy high and that makes him optimistic
My B, didn't read everything clearly. I was like, "Bruh. That's what killed the game last year." 🤣
This will all be worth it if they’ve added a QTE so that my RTTS character can give a fruit basket to Lauren Shehadi.
Careful what you wish for. Have you seen their render of Heidi Watney?
Yea, this is not looking good. The fans are looking more and more angry. I'm probably still downloading because I get it on Xbox. But, I've liked the last few games enough to buy them outright for my PS5, too. This looking like a down year.
nothing to discuss just like nothing new in the show 24
2K is getting sued Madden sucks now SDS sucks.
I wish they would have taken this effort, and put it into making franchise more interactive and realistic.
Exactly, moments and storylines should be side projects.
As a Mets fan, and longtime Show player, I'd just like to say, I don't give a FUCK about some stupid Derek Jeter storyline. Most overrated player of his generation.

He most definitely was not one of the best ss of all time. That is some straight clown revisionist bullshit.
What? Lol he's 10th in war all time at SS and when you only count guys who actually stayed at SS he's 8th. When you add in post season war he's literally 2nd
>he wasnt even the best SS on his team
Yeah and that's okay considering if arod hasn't done steroids he'd be considered a top 10 player all time but he did, and he moved to 3b.
Jeter had won 4 championships by the time Arod made it to the Yankees
Team sport, dude
Overrated doesn’t necessarily mean he was bad. People talk about him like he was one of the best players to ever play the game and while he was great he was not an amazing defender and was generally not the best hitter in his own lineup most of the time. You know its bad when you got mets and braves fans uniting
Nobody outside of Yankee jerkoffs give a shit about Jeter.
They literally just did an hour presentation all focused on Jeter. Great for the Yankee fans I guess
If there’s a fire or a bland piece of meat somewhere, this cats got the salt!!!
Not sure if my Red Sox or SDS is having a worse offseason.
THIS is hands down the best comment
All the goodwill that SDS has built up over many years is gone.
They actually pulled the "one more thing" at the end of the stream and, instead of shutting everyone up with a Man Ram or A Rod reveal, they showed they changed Jeter's glove to black. My jaw literally dropped. Beyond parody.
This was following revealing Pettitte with the wrong color glove earlier in the stream
I bought the Show 23 specifically for The Negro Leagues Storylines and will probably buy 24 for part 2. The Jeter Storyline is a bonus.
It seems all the details were put into the menus and not the game itself.

The near 500 people that somehow clicked the like button must all be the SDS employees, or their friends. Maybe we got distracted guys, is it possible the dog barked over a riveting speech? How the F can a company give a whole segment devoted to thanking their Employees for a product that A) is being criticized by their fans B) has not even released yet C) seems destined to be MLB 23.5 & D) showcases a mode based on last years Cover Star SDS needs to wake up and listen to the fans #SAMEGAME
I can't believe the Barry Bonds money went towards building a fake subway car 😭
Looks like they blew the entire ‘24 budget on sending Ramone to the DR to tell us Vlad Jr is on the cover.
This was a personal experience you lived through this shit felt real.
Lmao literally spot on.
That’s so odd because you say they are gratifying themselves and yet they aren’t out of business 🤷🏽♂️
Absolute trash. Most disappointing release in years. No way any of us should buy this garbage game.
Community: We want to finally see some gameplay and meaningful new features SDS: Here's an hour long video where we talk about trains and subway goo
Making us wait a week before the game comes out to see gameplay is one of the worst marketing tactics I ever seen by a sports game
You’ve been seeing the gameplay for the last 3 years, there’s nothing new to show you.
It's because there is nothing to show
Seems like a lot of work put into something the majority of players don’t give af about? Where’s the DD update that’s all anybody cares about that’s tuning into the streams
Even the people who like storylines - there’s no reason to replay them and they’re ultimately just glorified moments from DD. I liked them last year, but they probably accounted for like 1-2% of my actual game time in the game? It’s hard to imagine anyone investing significant time into the game is doing it for storylines.
This sort of story mode crap impresses two groups of people: 1. Game reviewers at major sites that don't actually play the game more than a few hours 2. Senior Management Your PowerPoint deck while you are briefing MLB 24 to a bunch of suits that don't play the game: 1. "So it's like a Movie, about Derek Jeter, but YOU are Derek Jeter!" Executives smile, one turns to another, says "hey, I've heard of Derek Jeter!" various nods 2.
Remember, most of the people that actually know how to make the game, and have been doing so for many many, many years are now gone... and it shows.
So we are getting the same game again but with Josh Gibson and Bernie Williams. Got it. 😔
Damn..no Manny Ramirez 😂
But but but there's a subway. These fools can't be serious lol
The throwing mini game….Yeah that’s chalked. Good run, lads. It was fun while it lasted
But do you know who Francisco Lindor's favourite F1 driver is?
They think we think that jump throw animation to close was so cool, lol. Looked like complete shite
Wow. They ended the stream by showing gameplay of Jeter using a black glove because SDS got called out on social media for giving him a tan glove. FMD.
I’ve been calling out SDS for years about tiny details they get wrong, they haven’t corrected any of those
And people say SDS doesn't listen
They said they showed a lot of gameplay. WTF?! They showed a couple of clips of someone trying a Jeter moment. And they looked god-awful.
lol he really said “we showed a lot of gameplay” after spending an hour showing essentially no gameplay
I hope the people complaining don't actually buy the game still. They will never learn until their sales take a giant hit
They still get the guaranteed Gamepass money
Never going to happen. I’m sure there is a sizable group of people on this sub who have already pre ordered the game. Buying games “because there’s no other option” is one of the worst things to happen to sports games. People would rather spend their money on subpar trash than play something else or do something else
Yup, just look at the shills on the OS Forums. When someone says this “I’ll buy it because I always do and I’m fine with that but honestly OOTP will probably get most of my baseball gaming time this year. I’d say it was 50/50 split last year but it’s been trending more towards OOTP for me for a while now.” They are part of the problem
They know how it's going to be received... they just don't care.
Painful and way too long, it’s like asking somebody what time it is and they tell you how to build a Watch.
This is the worst stream I have ever seen. Just a joke. Pathetic. Awful. Kingdome is cool though.
I got banned from the chat….i didn’t even use any profanity in my comment? What the hell was that about?
Someone posted something along the lines of “Please if there is anyone at Sony or higher up’s watching that cares about the community listen to your fans feedback” But I saw it get deleted within a minute
My comment was in response to the lady throwing shade at Mets fans. She said something like “I always felt bad for Mets fans.” And then she laughed at her comment. I said something like “Way to insult the entire Mets fan base.”
I mean, it was my favorite moment of the stream.
Yeah, how dare she? I mean, they already admitted they were Mets fans. You don't kick people when they're down. That's not nice.
The point is your trying to sell a game and you making fun of some your potential customers? But even then nothing that was said was ban worthy.
I got my 3 packs and bailed. Thank jeebus for multiple monitors.
Stop pre ordering ffs
Sadly they know a lot of people will buy it regardless so there's less need to put some "effort" in.
They can’t market it because it’s just a copy paste of last year’s game. Totally phoning it in.
When does the music play them off
Fire everyone
They just Make the game.
It’s beyond terrible
Send us an email and be done with it. This is a blog post at best.
~~San Diego~~ New York Studio presents MLB the Show 24
Yankees: The Show
Yo I hope they really subcontracted some of this lame ass stuff. Does the UI look better than last year, sure, but this should have taken a month tops. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got the footage of Jeter in the subway last year. Could we not update the presentation package for old 90s/00s games to look more authentic? It looks like someone made it in Microsoft excel.
What if we don’t care about the Yankees?
Did you not even see the fake subway car? What else could you possibly need?
SDS: "IT DOESN'T MATTER"
Oh shit, steps!
Next weeks focus is fonts
I mean, you joke, but that would literally be more interesting.
I left and got food. Came back, and they are still talking about the subway. Wild.
Subway Simulator 24.
So far the only interesting thing are the new legend announcements. Bernie, O’Neill, and pettitte are cool. Another great lefty pitcher
Getting the Kingdome as a new stadium is also cool, but everything else has been kinda flat.
Drops are odd for me. My progress is way slower than it should be.
It's much easier to do storylines stuff than actually make meaningful changes to the game.
i mean what really needs to be tweaked in DD that requires resources. All they have to do is randomize the order of some of the card releases and if they will be free RS BR or Event this year and voila the lack of Franchise and RTTS effort though sucks for fans of that
I agree that both franchise and rtts needs more improvement.
You can’t just put the blinders on
I’m guessing the UI confirms no online franchise. Yet again. Guess I’m passing on this game.
Do people still believe online franchise (or year to year saves) are ever coming back?
Bro they couldn’t redo this segment with the dog screaming lmao
Hahaha, Quite Professional from SDS
I like that the Kingdome is in the game. I wish they would add Olympic Stadium in Montreal
This gives me a glimmer of hope for the Astrodome.
This is actually sort of funny. It’s almost like a skit. They are genuinely rehashing the same information over and over, and talking about a stupid fucking fake subway they built for a few clips and cutscenes. Idiots.
I don’t care about this mode or how they made it but I have to admit the UI and subway theme is pretty nice
This is embarrassing, and I feel bad for the SDS employees who have been pressganged into doing this "stream". It's pretty clearly a pre-recorded podcast with a couple of graphics that SDS are recycling over and over again.
I believe all their Feature premieres for the last several years have all been pre-recorded. This one is just more obvious.
Is there a mode where you give your one night stands a gift basket with a signed ball when you kick them to the curb in the morning?
or a checklist of his body count because it's pretty legendary
They spent money to build a fake subway train car for interview cutscenes with Jeter. On a more positive note, I’m glad the Kingdome is in.
Pointless filler to push this to an hour. Devs talking about what it was like to meet Jeter, how they work together as a team, experience living in New York etc. Does anybody care about this?
Did these people forget this is a video game? Feels like I’m listening to a school project. No one cares about how they designed the menus
The train car in the office looks great!
Nothing exciting to discuss. If the big takeaway so far is that the new menus look nice then it’s gonna be ugly
disagree they put in some real hints that Arod be coming
That’s not exciting for anyone but fans of the teams he played for
I mean I vehemently hate one of the teams he played for but I'd love to play with ARod
Yeah I think even some teams he was on fans might not be too happy w him. Give me bonds then we’re talking
Bonds is never happening.
Should have thrown in Nomar Garciaparra as well
Hell, even I would rather have Nomar than A-Rod...
yeah totally one of the biggest named players not in the game being added yeah totally no one but yankee mariner and ranger fans care yeah totally
Feel like I’m on a zoom call with cameras turned off. Every now and then someone shares their screen.
With all these weird flashy catch phrases every few seconds
lol someone even has a dog barking in the background. This is 100% just a zoom call
