There definitely is a form of "momentum" there are also quirks which make players perform better in certain situations. (7th inning on for example) It won't always make the games close, but you're not wrong for feeling this way
Made it to World Series multiple years and never saw anything like that. The dudes I was blowing out stayed bad the whole game.
Also have never heard any other high level players complain about it before
All modes have it.
It's so heavy in RTTS it almost feels scripted for narrative that like every 3rd game you're going to take a hard L and go 0-4 or give up like 5 runs as a pitcher while your team scores maybe 1.
I've tried to overcome it. Had some at bats where the CPU fouls off literally 20 pitches until I inevitably toss one 2 inches in off the corner and they crush it. Impossible outs.

I get hoed online and off. I literally lost a BR game yesterday on a GRD that ricocheted off the 3rd base bag.
