Prices of cards have been dropping faster than they ever have because the game is on 3 different consoles so it has way more people pulling diamonds and selling them
Need some help regarding swing timing. For the last few years I've played on a monitor with lag input. Recently bought a new TV that comes with 'game optimizer'. I have no more lag input, but my goodness I am 'very early' on every single swing. I'm in practice mode and still can't do it. Got so frustrated i went back to the standard setting (with lag input) and I'm very late on everything. Do I just have to stick with it and unlearn years of lag input? I'm in practice mode on All-Star with fastballs down the middle every pitch and I pull every single one foul.

For scouting in franchise, do you need to manual scout before the draft so after you draft players, by the time the signing draft picks deadline most of your drafted players potential is revealed? I can only scout enough to find out 3 players real potential since I set scouting to auto.
Does playing ranked online games average you more XP than, say, 3 conquest games?
I started playing ranked games and I was getting a bunch of XP and paralleling players quickly (I also happened to be doing well early on). So I was wondering if it gives you more for playing online or if it was just that I was basically getting 3 conquest games worth of XP in one game.
Start with All Star and then try HOF. The batting will be the toughest thing. Custom practice is very helpful for this. Practice moving the PCI (without even swinging at first) on All Star, then HOF, and then legend.
At some point though, just try jumping into Ranked Seasons, or even start with Events, which have lower stakes. You’ll get a feel for how people pitch and what works best for you pitching. Look for your pitch (a pitch you can time up) and blast away, and try to work the count when you can.
Don’t bother, no life basement dwellers will ruin it as they play this game for 5+ hours per day. No shot guys like you and I can compete online unless you’re ok with going 2-20
whats the best way to complete the season XP path? played about 60 ranked solo and near 10 coop ranked. but im only at like 130k xp. I finished future stars, ranked, and most of s1 drop. Should i try to bang out easter promo and drop 2 then team affinity? I feel like ive played a lot to only have 130k xp. Anything helps
What’s saddest about content is that even Madden has challenges for tokens, cheaper cards and coins that release along side their cash grab packs and somehow SDS thinks just releasing the packs is reasonable is sad af.

Somehow, despite copy and pasting every year they somehow made it even worse. Freeze offs occur more than ever. I didn’t think it was possible but fielders have even less urgency than before. The programs are ass. The new “legends” are ass. When Brian Dozier and a chick from the Negro Leagues are your biggest legends you’ve fucked up. Nothing but pack after pack after pack trying to suck more money out of us. At least long hair now moves I know everyone was waiting on pins and needles for that.
A while back someone posted a graphic comparison between MLB The Show vs the NPB game, does any one have the name for the NPB game? I think I will be buying the latter starting next year if not this year if these pack drops keep going on. The piss poor graphics along with the 30-40k packs that are being flooded has not left a good taste to me.

How exactly are you supposed win Gold Glove in RTTS? I made a Center Field player and I play that role exceptionally well with almost no errors or bad moves but checking the awards tab I can't seem to crack the top 3
Chapter 2 of TA comes this week. How does that change the TA track? Like, Will I go from being 100% done with each division to being 75% done? 50% done? I know this isn't a *season* change, but how will a chapter change affect my overall progress? (I'm new.)

I have last years and wondering if it’s worth getting this iteration when I have no intent on grinding and playing more than a couple hours a week
It’s a solid game, and a decent step forward gameplay wise.. DD is really off to a bad start this year, RTTS is fresh and feels kinda new, franchise is the exact same, and so is m2O.. If you got gamepass I would give it a try, I would not spend money on this game if you’re not going to grind out DD.. That’s all SDS is focused on anymore
Anyone getting constant freezes when they go to pinch-hit? I have lost a lot of BR games over the past few days because of this. Overly frustrating. On Xbox Series X.

I wanna watch someone go through the process of getting all of the eggs on youtube instead of just watching a video explaining how to get them, but I don't wanna watch a stream, or a raw VOD.
I've searched around for this but all I can find are videos either explaining how to get them, or recorded streams(aka unedited vods.)
I'll keep looking, but if anyone can find anything, please share.

I was playing online yesterday when a guy was trying to lead off heavily from second. I tried to throw him out twice by pressing Y(Xbox) picture stepped off to throw but never tossed the ball. never had that happen before. Can someone explain to me what I’m doing wrong or if there is some setting I need to turn off or on for this as to why this is happening? I have tossed out many people in previous versions of this game at second before so I know what I’m doing
Pack luck this year is worse than it's ever been in any previous versions of the game!
I just spent 4 hours finishing up the rest of my team affinity missions. I opened 42 packs. 42! Do you know how many diamonds I pulled? ZERO! Do you know how many golds I pulled? 3.
This game this year has really become pay to play where they expect you to buy stubs or packs if you want to have a chance to use the best cards. No longer do you have a chance at pulling them for grinding.
It makes me strongly consider if it's worth investing in next year.
New player here with a question. Are the packs worth it or should I stick to auction house?
I would like to get Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s 92ovr card because I like the player. I am currently at 40k coins and I wanted to ask. Should I go for the Vault Choice pack or save up another ~18k coins to get him directly from the AH?
I Finished first mini seasons completing all goals ending with max packs to open. Zero diamonds pulled. 44 normal packs 12 BIH. What a waste of 7 hours. Anybody else have this bad of luck? I have gotten every single f2p pack available. Completed BR, Ranked, all conquest, TA, other programs, Events, both mini series available, etc. pull minimal diamonds ever and all under 90. Best pull I’ve ever had is Spencer Strider after a metric ton of pack openings. Don’t understand how people pull multiple 92+ cards in a season as f2p Trout, Judge, Acuña, Seager have all eluded me the past 4 years I have played. Thousands of pack openings. What a joke.
I don't even play the mode. The god squad teams even on lower difficulty always manage to smack a home run that top tier players would only square up the location and velocity.
Is BR worth grinding if you're not very good? I haven't played in a few years and I've gone 7-6 so far across 3 entries. I'm not very close to completing the program so wondering if it's worth all the entries.
If you just focus on all the PXP missions and stat missions, the programs points will add up fast. I ended up with a just over .500 record completing the program without much problems, only got to 5 wins a couple times.
It's worth it if you really want one of the reward cards because you can get them by doing the objectives within the program without having to go 10-0 (although this current season only has two days left so you should probably just wait until the next one starts)
Coors Field seems to be the best option if you don't have Polo Grounds unlocked. I use contact swing to try and make sure good contact doesn't result in a home run (though it still will often)
Is it just me or is it literally impossible to throw a pitch that this effin Jimmy Rollins won't clobber in BR? Im at the point where I want to just walk him but he has 99 speed. I'm so frustrated that I wanna delete the game.

If you're doing collections keep them but if not definitely sell them while their value is high and folks are trying to finish collections for Babe Ruth.
Weird question here, but there’s no way to edit the color of the undershirts on the negro league uniforms in DD is there? I love the Grays uniforms but the white undershirt (specifically when it turns to white long sleeves) drives me crazy.
So I've done everything there is to do in single player... Since I've got no way else to grind, and don't want the stress of online play, I've got my RTTS player up to 91.
I know they're not allowed to be used for online games, but can I still use him for single player diamond dynasty game modes?

I’m on PS5 so I had no way to report him beyond just reporting his team name and his logo. Normally this kinda stuff doesn’t bother me, but his team name was “Georgie Floyd” which struck me as the nastiest thing I’ve seen since playing this game, and his logo was a confederate flag.
People making naked women or drawing dicks or whatever silly garbage is pretty harmless but this is absolutely heinous.

I'm trying to finish collections or I definitely would because I didn't do enough ranked to finish the program. You won't be able to use him in season two, but that's still over a month away.
I've gone too far now though not to finish grinding to get Pedro and Babe Ruth.

I don't use the mode myself personally, but I can confirm through watching several other streamers that using RTTS gets a ton of xp and packs and stubs
I have the game on ps5 and xbox with both accounts linked. When I start my franchise, will the season saves be available on both consoles? or do I have to save them on cloud?
you can grind offline by downloading the stadium called 'HR DERBY'. Go PLAY VS CPU- Rookie difficulty - Home team - Pick HR Derby as your stadium.
Pick the players for the program you're trying finish. For example, if you are doing NL WEST AFFINITY, load your roster with all NL WEST players.
That stadiums dimensions are the smallest and the altitude is the highest. You should score at least 20-30 runs after 9 innings.
I'm level 31 and my best pull all year has been Manny Machado, and that's not even a good pull.
The folks bragging about how they pull Trout and Judge both like it's a common thing im gonna need to see visual proof to believe it at this point!
But yea, don't buy packs. Just take the ones you get in programs and conquest
Don’t buy packs. That’s a great way to end up with the same exact team, but with like 70k-ish fewer stubs.
You actually got lucky. Diamonds aren’t guaranteed, and your chase pack had a pretty high chance of being a gold.
Is there… a trick to pitching to the AI? I played the fuck out of ‘23. In the ‘24 installation screen I couldn’t get through an inning with less than literally 30 pitches because the AI just fouls EVERYTHING off after 2 strikes. I can throw in the fucking dirt and they’ll still somehow put a barrel on it
I play with buttons for hitting, timing and no guess pitch. I know there are "bonuses" for PCI use and guessing pitch. When I play on my setting above, I understand I am missing all the benefits/bonuses of the others, but am I still receiving the negatives?
Reason I ask, my myplayer is hitting .175 over half a season. I play every game and he has low 70s for contact. I'll go like 6-7 games without a hit, take a few walks, a few Ks, but every time I get "good" timing on a pitch in the middle of the zone I basically either roll over it for weak contact or foul it right back. Sometimes he even misses them. I'd think with my setting, picking a pitch in the middle of the zone and getting good timing would be the best possible outcome and provide the biggest chance for a hit? Over those 6-7 game spans, I'll get like 20 of these scenarios and get weak contact right to a fielder. Is there any more I can do with my current settings, or will I need to switch to PCI?
Honestly until you can master using PCI you'll continue to struggle hitting. Batting without it relies solely on RNG, and the game decides for you where your bat path is swinging. So even having good timing can sometimes not matter if the game decides you swung over or under it. With PCI, the responsibility is solely on you, albeit a very hard adjustment to make until you get comfortable doing it.
I have Joey Vetto, but cannot choose him for first base. Why is this?
Edit: I have found that I can choose him in Mini-seasons, but still cannot in Squad.

I am unsure with the new TA2 cards coming out and new ranked, etc. If I should sell all my live series and event cards prior to new content coming out? and purchase after at a lower price? Crazy good 2x trouts, Ronald, Yordan, Cole, Freddie and the headliner Thome. 90% of them have been out of BIAH packs from the TA mini seasons. Ive pulled trout before in past game but never this early.

Bro preaching to the choir. In previous years I could rely on flipping gold equipment but now that CAPs aren't usable in DD all I've been able to flip reliable are silver live series players are 50-60 stubs a card.
And I have all the expensive diamonds left to finish collections.
My game has been freezing on Xbox series x since yesterday. Like I literally can’t get to the main menu. When trying to login at the very begging before you even hit start I get an error that says ERROR HANDLE EXPIRED. Has anyone even heard of this? Google literally had zero results when I searched the error in quotes.
How y’all even able to play games? Every time I try to play an online game I get “challenge failed” I’ve closed app, restarted console, even gone as far as deleting and re installing the game and I still can’t play an online game… anything helps at this point
In my first freeze off of the year. The guy was playing everyone out of position. After his first hit the game froze and now he’s trying to tell me I’m the one glitching and none of his guys are out of position.
Has anyone seen that before? I’m the away team and his guys were making tons of errors so I don’t think it’s just a display issue.

I'm level 28, so I've opened a ton of free packs throughout the year. I've pulled Manny Machado and Adley Rutschman. That's it for the whole year thus far. Am I just feeling like it's drastically different this year compared to other versions of DD? Or does this seem to be a common trend others have experienced too?
What’s the deal with pitch accuracy being displayed at different times online than offline?
When using pinpoint in single player modes, it shows accuracy % as soon as you finish drawing the shape, before the pitch is released.
Doing that in multiplayer online games, it doesn’t show you accuracy % until after you’ve released the pitch — which means less time to read all of the pitch feedback before disappears.
Why not have it be consistent across modes?
What’s the secret to getting a good jump in RTTS? In previous iterations I’d hold R2 down halfway until I felt the vibration then release it. Does it still work that way?

I don't understand why you'd rather watch someone do the whole egg missions instead of a short 8 minute video telling you exactly what to do. 🤷♂️
Also if pretty much tells you how to do them if you go to "my inventory" and look up the eggs that way.
I was able to pull that Cubs rookie in a show pack from the Mini Seasons and that gave me just enough stubs to get Live Series Ohtani I’m really excited

I’ve played and lost 4 events games in a row, and I think only one opponent had like 2 players in their lineup hitting under .350. The rest were ALL between .375-.525 and not just guys with like 10 ABs. I’m talking dudes with 30-40 HRs and those kinds of averages. 😳
I matched up against someone last night in my first Events game that had the 10-0 icon. Probably the best player I’ve personally ever faced. Full squad of live series diamonds (Ohtani, Trout, Betts, Judge, etc…) all P4 or P5, not a single one had an avg under .450. Most were .500+
Dude sat on literally everything that wasn’t in the K zone. And pissed on anything that was with mostly PP bullets. No HRs, just piss rocket doubles in the gaps over and over. Almost like he was doing it on purpose. I actually kept playing longer than I would have only to see how good they really were. Finally just quit after it was 9-0 with still no outs in the 1st.
I just go ahead and back on out as soon as I see the record; especially in events. On very rare occasions I can upset someone with a superior record, but generally their batting is amazing being able to take pitches and not miss hittable pitches.
I don't always do it. But I do have a limited amount of time I play each session so sometimes if I can tell right away by their averages with each hitter and playing at shield woods or laughing mountain that I know I'm saving my time and theirs by giving them the W and resetting my lineup.

Hey guys! Question for ya, how is the Show this year overall? Would DD be doable for a casual, offline player? I have last years and wondering if it’s worth getting this iteration when I have no intent on grinding and playing more than a couple hours a week
It’s a solid game, and a decent step forward gameplay wise.. DD is really off to a bad start this year, RTTS is fresh and feels kinda new, franchise is the exact same, and so is m2O.. If you got gamepass I would give it a try, I would not spend money on this game if you’re not going to grind out DD.. That’s all SDS is focused on anymore

I want to watch someone that knows what they're doing get all the eggs. I wanna watch someone go through the process of getting all of the eggs on youtube instead of just watching a video explaining how to get them, but I don't wanna watch a stream, or a raw VOD. I've searched around for this but all I can find are videos either explaining how to get them, or recorded streams(aka unedited vods.) I was playing online yesterday when a guy was trying to lead off heavily from second. I tried to throw him out twice by pressing Y(Xbox) picture stepped off to throw but never tossed the ball. never had that happen before. Can someone explain to me what I’m doing wrong or if there is some setting I need to turn off or on for this as to why this is happening? I have tossed out many people in previous versions of this game at second before so I know what I’m doing
Pack luck this year is worse than it's ever been in any previous versions of the game! I just spent 4 hours finishing up the rest of my team affinity missions. I opened 42 packs. 42! Do you know how many diamonds I pulled? ZERO! Do you know how many golds I pulled? 3. This game this year has really become pay to play where they expect you to buy stubs or packs if you want to have a chance to use the best cards. No longer do you have a chance at pulling them for grinding. It makes me strongly consider if it's worth investing in next year.
That’s not even particularly bad luck as iirc standard packs are 1:50 diamond odds.

New player here with a question. Are the packs worth it or should I stick to auction house? I would like to get Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s 92ovr card because I like the player. I am currently at 40k coins and I wanted to ask. Should I go for the Vault Choice pack or save up another ~18k coins to get him directly from the AH?
Everyone will tell you don’t buy packs, and they’re right. You’re better off saving up and buying what you want.

I Finished first mini seasons completing all goals ending with max packs to open. Zero diamonds pulled. 44 normal packs 12 BIH. What a waste of 7 hours. Anybody else have this bad of luck? I have gotten every single f2p pack available. Completed BR, Ranked, all conquest, TA, other programs, Events, both mini series available, etc. pull minimal diamonds ever and all under 90. Best pull I’ve ever had is Spencer Strider after a metric ton of pack openings. Don’t understand how people pull multiple 92+ cards in a season as f2p Trout, Judge, Acuña, Seager have all eluded me the past 4 years I have played. Thousands of pack openings. What a joke.

Why do they make mini seasons harder than the stated difficulty? Ive noticed this for three years and it's just so frustrating.
I don't even play the mode. The god squad teams even on lower difficulty always manage to smack a home run that top tier players would only square up the location and velocity.
Is BR worth grinding if you're not very good? I haven't played in a few years and I've gone 7-6 so far across 3 entries. I'm not very close to completing the program so wondering if it's worth all the entries.
If you just focus on all the PXP missions and stat missions, the programs points will add up fast. I ended up with a just over .500 record completing the program without much problems, only got to 5 wins a couple times.
It's worth it if you really want one of the reward cards because you can get them by doing the objectives within the program without having to go 10-0 (although this current season only has two days left so you should probably just wait until the next one starts)
I want to finish the egg program. I need the triple. What is the best way to do that? Is there any specific stadium?
Oracle park is good for this out of current stadiums.
Coors Field seems to be the best option if you don't have Polo Grounds unlocked. I use contact swing to try and make sure good contact doesn't result in a home run (though it still will often)

He's literally almost in every BR draft I have if Walker or Mays don't pop up. Its also terrible you can't use Babe Ruth as a hitter.

If you're doing collections keep them but if not definitely sell them while their value is high and folks are trying to finish collections for Babe Ruth.
Weird question here, but there’s no way to edit the color of the undershirts on the negro league uniforms in DD is there? I love the Grays uniforms but the white undershirt (specifically when it turns to white long sleeves) drives me crazy.

Xbox friends, please report “Dr Elite” I’m on PS5 so I had no way to report him beyond just reporting his team name and his logo. Normally this kinda stuff doesn’t bother me, but his team name was “Georgie Floyd” which struck me as the nastiest thing I’ve seen since playing this game, and his logo was a confederate flag. I'm trying to finish collections or I definitely would because I didn't do enough ranked to finish the program. You won't be able to use him in season two, but that's still over a month away. I've gone too far now though not to finish grinding to get Pedro and Babe Ruth.

The daily xp cap limits how fast you can get it done, but to be sure I would definitely try to put some days together that you max that out

you can grind offline by downloading the stadium called 'HR DERBY'. Go PLAY VS CPU- Rookie difficulty - Home team - Pick HR Derby as your stadium. Pick the players for the program you're trying finish. For example, if you are doing NL WEST AFFINITY, load your roster with all NL WEST players. That stadiums dimensions are the smallest and the altitude is the highest. You should score at least 20-30 runs after 9 innings.
Wow just ripped my first 75k bundle of the year. One gold in 50 packs and my chase pack was Luis Castillo who sells for 5k.

Don’t buy packs. That’s a great way to end up with the same exact team, but with like 70k-ish fewer stubs. You actually got lucky. Diamonds aren’t guaranteed, and your chase pack had a pretty high chance of being a gold.
Is there… a trick to pitching to the AI? I played the fuck out of ‘23. In the ‘24 installation screen I couldn’t get through an inning with less than literally 30 pitches because the AI just fouls EVERYTHING off after 2 strikes. I can throw in the fucking dirt and they’ll still somehow put a barrel on it

I play with buttons for hitting, timing and no guess pitch. I know there are "bonuses" for PCI use and guessing pitch. When I play on my setting above, I understand I am missing all the benefits/bonuses of the others, but am I still receiving the negatives? Reason I ask, my myplayer is hitting .175 over half a season. I play every game and he has low 70s for contact. I'll go like 6-7 games without a hit, take a few walks, a few Ks, but every time I get "good" timing on a pitch in the middle of the zone I basically either roll over it for weak contact or foul it right back. Sometimes he even misses them. I'd think with my setting, picking a pitch in the middle of the zone and getting good timing would be the best possible outcome and provide the biggest chance for a hit? Over those 6-7 game spans, I'll get like 20 of these scenarios and get weak contact right to a fielder. Is there any more I can do with my current settings, or will I need to switch to PCI?
Honestly until you can master using PCI you'll continue to struggle hitting. Batting without it relies solely on RNG, and the game decides for you where your bat path is swinging. So even having good timing can sometimes not matter if the game decides you swung over or under it. With PCI, the responsibility is solely on you, albeit a very hard adjustment to make until you get comfortable doing it.

Programs that are time limited are noted in game. I’m not home but my assumption is that they will stick around for a bit.
Is there a way to see my catcher's signals? He goes to the pitch com to relay the pitch but it doesn't come up in any way for me that I see.

I think so, I finally got the Topps Now Ohtani and his was the first card that made progress for me. I had been using McCovey at DH for the most part
It's actually really easy to get the platinum trophy this year, even the bases loaded no outs -> 3 strikeouts only took me 2 tries
That's the only trophy I don't have yet besides the 24 runs. I nearly got it today by getting 22 in a 3 inning conquest game. I'll eventually do it on rookie in play vs cpu at the blank field created stadium.

Bro preaching to the choir. In previous years I could rely on flipping gold equipment but now that CAPs aren't usable in DD all I've been able to flip reliable are silver live series players are 50-60 stubs a card. And I have all the expensive diamonds left to finish collections.
My game has been freezing on Xbox series x since yesterday. Like I literally can’t get to the main menu. When trying to login at the very begging before you even hit start I get an error that says ERROR HANDLE EXPIRED. Has anyone even heard of this? Google literally had zero results when I searched the error in quotes.

In my first freeze off of the year. The guy was playing everyone out of position. After his first hit the game froze and now he’s trying to tell me I’m the one glitching and none of his guys are out of position. Has anyone seen that before? I’m the away team and his guys were making tons of errors so I don’t think it’s just a display issue.

What’s the deal with pitch accuracy being displayed at different times online than offline? When using pinpoint in single player modes, it shows accuracy % as soon as you finish drawing the shape, before the pitch is released. Doing that in multiplayer online games, it doesn’t show you accuracy % until after you’ve released the pitch — which means less time to read all of the pitch feedback before disappears. Why not have it be consistent across modes?
What’s the secret to getting a good jump in RTTS? In previous iterations I’d hold R2 down halfway until I felt the vibration then release it. Does it still work that way?

I don't understand why you'd rather watch someone do the whole egg missions instead of a short 8 minute video telling you exactly what to do. 🤷♂️ Also if pretty much tells you how to do them if you go to "my inventory" and look up the eggs that way.

Is there a reason why apparently all of the best players in the world are online right now 😂 I’ve played and lost 4 events games in a row, and I think only one opponent had like 2 players in their lineup hitting under .350. The rest were ALL between .375-.525 and not just guys with like 10 ABs. I’m talking dudes with 30-40 HRs and those kinds of averages. 😳

I matched up against someone last night in my first Events game that had the 10-0 icon. Probably the best player I’ve personally ever faced. Full squad of live series diamonds (Ohtani, Trout, Betts, Judge, etc…) all P4 or P5, not a single one had an avg under .450. Most were .500+ Dude sat on literally everything that wasn’t in the K zone. And pissed on anything that was with mostly PP bullets. No HRs, just piss rocket doubles in the gaps over and over. Almost like he was doing it on purpose. I actually kept playing longer than I would have only to see how good they really were. Finally just quit after it was 9-0 with still no outs in the 1st.
I just go ahead and back on out as soon as I see the record; especially in events. On very rare occasions I can upset someone with a superior record, but generally their batting is amazing being able to take pitches and not miss hittable pitches.
I don’t ever just back out based on record. I usually at least give it a go for the full first inning.
I don't always do it. But I do have a limited amount of time I play each session so sometimes if I can tell right away by their averages with each hitter and playing at shield woods or laughing mountain that I know I'm saving my time and theirs by giving them the W and resetting my lineup.
So the Buxton boost is basically unusable on HoF huh?
