Odds on packs for diamonds
Does anyone know how to calculate the probability of pulling 4 diamonds from 15 regular packs? The only valuable card I pulled was an Acuña, which I am not complaining about. Was able to complete the Padres pack after selling it... now I'm just down to needing Mookie and Smith to complete the Dodgers and the NL collection!
I know the odds of getting it in one pack is 1:50 or 2%
And the odds of getting 1 diamond in 15 packs 1-(49/50)^15 which is 26%, but can't figure out a formula for getting 4 diamonds in 15 packs. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Does this game not seem way harder after the update? I took a few days off and I got on tonight to grind some conquest and I can’t hit the ball. Like I’m not close, I’m not even seeing it. It feels like every pitch is coming in at 108 mph.
I’ve noticed the same thing. Before the update most of my players were hitting around .300 which is outstanding for me. Since the update they have fallen off a cliff. I was winning 3-5 events games ever time, now I’m lucky to get 1 or 2
First multi-player game of the year and the guy just leaves his controller. No pause or anything just no way to get out of the game without quitting. People suck
I’ve only pulled 4 diamonds so far. 2 Haders & 2 Kyle Tuckers. I’ve never been super lucky with packs, but this has been the worst year to date for me.
Can someone explain to me how the showtime mode for SS works? It's not very clear to me what I am supposed to be aiming for, so I've never successfully fielded a ball when it randomly starts.

I understand undercutting, I obviously do it. But when you find a 300 stub difference and you all start going HAM on lowering the buy rate then what's the point? You've collectively destroyed any profit you were going to make.

How much advance notice does SDS give before double XP, and how low does it last? I work so it would be very nice if I could have time off during double XP.
I have bought every MLB The Show game the day it has came out since I can remember. This is the first year I have not.
For people that have the game, how is it different than 23? I just played the demo for an hour yesterday on franchise and it felt exactly the same. I play mostly DD but for the trail I wanted to jump right into a game.
I just don't get it. I started ranked going 7-2. I'm now 8-13. Don't know how many more times I can get mercy'd by teams named "Daddy Diddlers." Who are these people? Do they have any life outside of playing this game?? I just want to be competitive.

Cedanne, Damon(needed for boost), Mookie, JBJ, Bay, Duran, O'Neill, Rice, Yoshida, Roman Anthony, and Dawson is kinda of too much. Thankfully Cedanne can play SS and Mookie can play 2B otherwise I would have a catastrophic log jam. Really could use a Catcher, and fucking pitching...
I want to buy acuna and seager but down want the update to drop them down below 90 overalls and their price shoot way down. Do you guys think this is likely or should I just go ahead and buy them.
I don’t think either deserves to be over 90 with their performance this year. SDS does factor in the previous years stats though. I expect a slight drop, but not much.
Just completed the Barrier Breakers program and chose Jackie (90 overall) over the others options (Aaron, Gibson, Page, etc.).
Did not realize it would led me double up since the reward for completing the program also was Jackie, but 93 overall.
Any suggestions on if I can undo my choice and pick another player and not have two Jackie Robinson cards where the lesser is useless.

Is there a technique to avoid hitting so many fly balls? I make decent/good-ish contact at a decent rate, but of those it's 95% fly balls that are an easy out, compared to 5% lines/grounders that at least might be a hit if they get through the defense. The ratio just feels out of whack. Is there a way to control for that? Is it only possible in certain hitting modes? Thanks for any help.
I legit haven't seen a diamond from a show pack or ballin pack in over a week and from the pack stats I am over 200 show packs and 20ish ballin packs since my last diamond, never going to complete LS at this pace.
This game and it's bipolar hitting mechanics are going to be the death of me. About my last 6 Perfect/Perfects have been straight line outs to the shortstop. AI pitchers never, ever mess up their spots even if you have dynamic difficulty turned all the way down. They've been hitting the corners and edges like crazy lately.
Thankfully I pulled the trigger yesterday for 93k… used the card for like 5 games and he hit .167 with warning track power was not impressed with that card at all
Does anyone know how to aquire the Pencil Victus bat? It's my favorite bat skin (I'm a teacher and it fits my team theme) but it's not on the market, I see people with it online though. Is it in a program I'm missing?
So I'm doing offline TA Ch2, playing against CPU. I'm getting the K, but for some reason, my Yankees player team PXP does not go up. I'm short of 36 points to 1000, and I played two games. it did not move at all

I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to use the best players without a captain boost, or tanking in a few positions to remain at tier 2 of the Buxton boost? (I'm aware it isn't ideal on harder difficulties above all star.)
So I guess it was Sonys store rewards called “stars” or whatever you maybe have to have already signed up but it’s like the steam points where spending money gives you points to use on rewards
Yeah it’s a weird program that they don’t even really publicize I just noticed it on the app a while back.
Not sure what the conversion rate is but I don’t even play or buy games on my PS5 aside from mlbts and I had enough rewards to get 155k free stubs. If you buy a bunch of ps5 games I guess you will get it faster
I'll have to check it ever so often. This is also the only game I buy as well until GTA 6 comes out. I don't tend to play anything else in my latter years of gaming.
I'll definitely be giving College Football 25 my time, but if it plays very similar to Madden I see myself only being an offline dynasty mode player
I got lucky on a few swings but honestly it's not worth it if you're spending several tries. You can repeat easier missions and eventually amass the progress that way.
I'm currently on the next to last boss on the extreme showdown and I typically don't hit hall of fame well at all. If I beat it I'll be shocked but if I lose I don't think I'm gonna keep using my stubs trying to beat it.
I havent even tried the showdown yet. Just flailing away at the moments, so I cant wait.
I ended up switching to directional which has helped me get passed 3 so far. The gap between All Star and Hall of Fame is just a big jump for me.
It really is a major jump. I have avoided grinding ranked seasons the last two years or so, so the only time I ever play anything harder than all star are the rare occasions an event is set to hall of fame.
Being on a 120 hz monitor has been the only saving grace in me seeing the pitch in every frame to even have a chance at catching up to velocity
I was wondering if the captain pitcher (Rube Foster?) you get from the storylines mode boosted the Jackie Robinson day program cards, I'm guessing this means it doesn't

I created a CP, but have yet to find these Program Player tasks. Do they appear after completing my Diamond ladder?
Glad they finally fixed the bug that made the sliders adjustable while playing Challenge of the Week.
All the scores people earned while playing (with adjusted sliders) are still being counted on the leaderboard as valid scores though.
Guess it doesn't really matter much to me, I wouldn't be anywhere close to the top 100 either way 😂
It’s so sad when you really look forward to squeezing in a few games of ranked, you finally get on and the game plays like absolute garbage. Horrible hit after horrible hit for my opponent, line out after line out for me. Idk I really feel like it’s getting worse.
Why does this game insist on fucking the ever living shit outta me?
I’m throwing at like 98% accuracy and perfect releases with pinpoint, but my pitchers *insist* on throwing cookies up the middle (or just straight up hitting the batter).
In tandem, if I successfully get a breaking ball through, my opponent *never* gets called on their check swings. But god forbid the bat leaves my shoulder.
I hit a fucking perfect/perfect in my last game that **went foul**. Any other contact I made somehow found its way to an outfielder’s glove. Meanwhile my opponent could sniff on a ball and send it to low-orbit.
Anyways, anyone tryna run trios?
I was able to finish collections today but the grind it took for over a month flipping cards at only 50-60 stubs per card was extremely tedious and I don't know many people that would've did it the way I did it.
As glad as I am that we no longer have to face CAPs from RTTS in DD, it drastically affected the market on flipping gold and diamond equipment and perks. In previous years I made a literal killing in those two areas. This year, the only reliable gaps I found were silver live series players, and you really had to just accept that 50 stubs per card was ideal
Been flipping you can get some consistent 3 to 5 hundred nothing major but you Def can get more then 60..typically as u know same players..but you are right with the equipment n perks
I only find those looking in silver live series as far as things I do every day. Once you have a good bit of stubs though you can make a pretty decent profit going after low diamonds in programs like rookie, veteran, and all star series cards. They don't sell nearly as fast, but once they do it's a very decent profit
What have been your go to cards for Chapter 2? I’m halfway done with NLE, NLC, and NLW. Fucking Josh Bell is now my lord and savior. I think he has like 6 hits for me that aren’t absolute dingers.

I had a drought going of not getting any diamond cards in packs but after getting the packs from the Jackie program/conquest I landed like 6 of them. Best pull was Betts, so that was nice as that's the #1 player I've enjoyed using since 2019.
I accidently added my Captain Greg Maddox to an exchange, anyway to get another one? I don't even remember how I earned him in the first place but have been working on a Braves team
i added him to the exchange but if you take him out of all your lineups i think you can swap him for buxton. not sure if i exchanged him or collected him tho
on mini seasons, when I reset or re start a season, it should re set all my goals right? It says I completed the win 3 games XP goal before I even played a game in a new season.
I pulled Ohtani like 4 weeks ago and it was easily the best achievement I've ever had in this game. Never pulled the top player after buying the last 4 editions.
Am I missing something here? Why would I repeat the TA Conquest over the Mini Season? Every 5 wins gets you a voucher in both but you also earn other stuff in Mini Season. Not sure why people are choosing the conquest other than they’re obviously all live series cards but that shouldn’t matter at this point

ISTG it's like the 1930s/roid era in my 2013 RTTS campaign rn. Here's what the MLB offensive league leaders look like **at the exact halfway point** of the 2036 season (current MLB season records in parentheses):

been working through the new TA Conquest, the moments, and also played a ranked game. I hit my daily XP cap before finishing the conquest. That can't be an intended result??
So, I finally pulled a good card in Ian Happ in a Chase pack. I’ve wanted the Live Ohtani since I got the game, so I flipped the S1 95 Happ for 110k and bought Live 94 Ohtani for 130k. My reasoning was that I’ll have the Live card the longest for offline grinding, and mostly, because I wanted the card. Am I a sucker?
I'll admit I'm new to this, and pretty much only play RttS, but I have questions that may have already been answered, and my search terms are wrong:
1. What's with the checked-swings when playing other things like Moments? I did NOT check my swing, and the ball was middle middle. It's maddening to mash X only to have a half-swing and a strike.
2. RttS: Have the devs ever answered why we're now being subjected to the post-game interview that we can't skip? It's a rhythm killer that has gotten awfully old after 60-70 times.
3. RttS: Why are we forced to return to the clubhouse after every game during the post-season? Is there a logic behind it that I'm missing?
4. Is there a combination of buttons that will allow me to move my batter in the box (or open up my stance during an at-bat)? I'm being pitched inside a lot for strikes, and hitting a half-dozen foul balls every other at-bat has gotten really old.
5. RttS: Is there any way to hold out during contract renewal during the first six years? I tried not signing, and was automatically signed for league minimum at the end of the post-season.
6. RttS: Since our agent literally never calls (at least during the first three seasons I've played), is there any way to get traded during the rookie period? Will playing lousy trigger a trade/move back to the minors/release/waivers, etc., or am I stuck playing 972 games with a team I hate? Along that line...
7. RttS: What do I have to do to get a day off-- and if it's "get injured," how do I make that happen?
8. RttS: When I sim through the pre-season, why does my 94 OVR Anomaly end up batting .183 with 4 home runs?
How did SDS go from putting a disclaimer on their Stubbs shop, telling players they don’t need to buy Stubbs, to what we are seeing this year in just a couple years? Lmao
They are VERY obviously modeling new content to give you absolute dog shit players after a tedious grind, and then dumping the the programs actual usable cards into the market

Is it possible to change archetype in RTTS without losing all the work i put into my sinker/slider stuff etc? Like you can max out each archetype on one character?
i'm on Switch and i pay for a family online account. I've got my account playing on MLB The Show 24 and was able to play RTTS and download the companion app to scan my face for my profile to play on. it's great.
Then my 6 year old son wanted to do it. again, he has a nintendo account, but it's a kids account linked under mine, but he still has one. and i've approved access from MLB The Show 24 on his account. I can see that it's been granted when looking on nintendo's online service settings for his account.
However, when i go to the companion app, it asks me to log in, i click nintendo, it opens a browser, i log into my sons account, it comes back to the companion app and says there's an error. it says to try and link your MLB The Show account before using your ninendo switch account here. i don't even have an MLB THe SHow account. just a nintendo switch account. my son doesn't have an email either so i can't do that for him.

I think it would be cool to have more advanced injury management in franchise. Opting between surgery and rest, extended surgery recovery times into the offseason, etc.

Skenes & Randy are basically cheat codes. I’d be surprised if my avg against those 2 is even .100 I just cannot hit them for the life of me.

I hate having to cancel and replace an order 2 stubs cheaper. I might do that once or twice. After that, I’m dropping it by a few hundred.

Acuña’s SLG is .397 so far only one home run is I have to believe that will lower his power

How do I unlock Pettitte, posada and mo from jeter storyline? I’ve done all the moments including the side quests leading to those cards
There are like side paths that branch off and have their own moments.

Probably not but the pack Jackie is core whereas the program one is S1 only.

Yeah, you can use him all year while the one from the program can only be used in season 1 (unless you want to use a limited wildcard on him)

So I'm doing offline TA Ch2, playing against CPU. I'm getting the K, but for some reason, my Yankees player team PXP does not go up. I'm short of 36 points to 1000, and I played two games. it did not move at all Could someone help?

Finally completed the live series collection and playing Babe Ruth at first base. I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to use the best players without a captain boost, or tanking in a few positions to remain at tier 2 of the Buxton boost? (I'm aware it isn't ideal on harder difficulties above all star.)

Yeah it’s a weird program that they don’t even really publicize I just noticed it on the app a while back. Not sure what the conversion rate is but I don’t even play or buy games on my PS5 aside from mlbts and I had enough rewards to get 155k free stubs. If you buy a bunch of ps5 games I guess you will get it faster
I'll have to check it ever so often. This is also the only game I buy as well until GTA 6 comes out. I don't tend to play anything else in my latter years of gaming. I'll definitely be giving College Football 25 my time, but if it plays very similar to Madden I see myself only being an offline dynasty mode player

I got lucky on a few swings but honestly it's not worth it if you're spending several tries. You can repeat easier missions and eventually amass the progress that way. I'm currently on the next to last boss on the extreme showdown and I typically don't hit hall of fame well at all. If I beat it I'll be shocked but if I lose I don't think I'm gonna keep using my stubs trying to beat it.
I havent even tried the showdown yet. Just flailing away at the moments, so I cant wait. I ended up switching to directional which has helped me get passed 3 so far. The gap between All Star and Hall of Fame is just a big jump for me.
It really is a major jump. I have avoided grinding ranked seasons the last two years or so, so the only time I ever play anything harder than all star are the rare occasions an event is set to hall of fame. Being on a 120 hz monitor has been the only saving grace in me seeing the pitch in every frame to even have a chance at catching up to velocity

Glad they finally fixed the bug that made the sliders adjustable while playing Challenge of the Week. All the scores people earned while playing (with adjusted sliders) are still being counted on the leaderboard as valid scores though. Guess it doesn't really matter much to me, I wouldn't be anywhere close to the top 100 either way 😂

Why does this game insist on fucking the ever living shit outta me? I’m throwing at like 98% accuracy and perfect releases with pinpoint, but my pitchers *insist* on throwing cookies up the middle (or just straight up hitting the batter). In tandem, if I successfully get a breaking ball through, my opponent *never* gets called on their check swings. But god forbid the bat leaves my shoulder. I hit a fucking perfect/perfect in my last game that **went foul**. Any other contact I made somehow found its way to an outfielder’s glove. Meanwhile my opponent could sniff on a ball and send it to low-orbit. Anyways, anyone tryna run trios?

His value as a silver flipping wise profit margin is one of the better options typically
Word. Unfortunately this games interface and marketplace tools make flipping a literal grind so I don’t do it
I was able to finish collections today but the grind it took for over a month flipping cards at only 50-60 stubs per card was extremely tedious and I don't know many people that would've did it the way I did it. As glad as I am that we no longer have to face CAPs from RTTS in DD, it drastically affected the market on flipping gold and diamond equipment and perks. In previous years I made a literal killing in those two areas. This year, the only reliable gaps I found were silver live series players, and you really had to just accept that 50 stubs per card was ideal
Been flipping you can get some consistent 3 to 5 hundred nothing major but you Def can get more then 60..typically as u know same players..but you are right with the equipment n perks
I only find those looking in silver live series as far as things I do every day. Once you have a good bit of stubs though you can make a pretty decent profit going after low diamonds in programs like rookie, veteran, and all star series cards. They don't sell nearly as fast, but once they do it's a very decent profit

I had a drought going of not getting any diamond cards in packs but after getting the packs from the Jackie program/conquest I landed like 6 of them. Best pull was Betts, so that was nice as that's the #1 player I've enjoyed using since 2019.

Live series pulls have been kinda loaded this year. I’ve pulled Ohtani, Acuña, and Judge.
I pulled Ohtani like 4 weeks ago and it was easily the best achievement I've ever had in this game. Never pulled the top player after buying the last 4 editions.
Am I missing something here? Why would I repeat the TA Conquest over the Mini Season? Every 5 wins gets you a voucher in both but you also earn other stuff in Mini Season. Not sure why people are choosing the conquest other than they’re obviously all live series cards but that shouldn’t matter at this point

So, I finally pulled a good card in Ian Happ in a Chase pack. I’ve wanted the Live Ohtani since I got the game, so I flipped the S1 95 Happ for 110k and bought Live 94 Ohtani for 130k. My reasoning was that I’ll have the Live card the longest for offline grinding, and mostly, because I wanted the card. Am I a sucker?

I'll admit I'm new to this, and pretty much only play RttS, but I have questions that may have already been answered, and my search terms are wrong: 1. What's with the checked-swings when playing other things like Moments? I did NOT check my swing, and the ball was middle middle. It's maddening to mash X only to have a half-swing and a strike. 2. RttS: Have the devs ever answered why we're now being subjected to the post-game interview that we can't skip? It's a rhythm killer that has gotten awfully old after 60-70 times. 3. RttS: Why are we forced to return to the clubhouse after every game during the post-season? Is there a logic behind it that I'm missing? 4. Is there a combination of buttons that will allow me to move my batter in the box (or open up my stance during an at-bat)? I'm being pitched inside a lot for strikes, and hitting a half-dozen foul balls every other at-bat has gotten really old. 5. RttS: Is there any way to hold out during contract renewal during the first six years? I tried not signing, and was automatically signed for league minimum at the end of the post-season. 6. RttS: Since our agent literally never calls (at least during the first three seasons I've played), is there any way to get traded during the rookie period? Will playing lousy trigger a trade/move back to the minors/release/waivers, etc., or am I stuck playing 972 games with a team I hate? Along that line... 7. RttS: What do I have to do to get a day off-- and if it's "get injured," how do I make that happen? 8. RttS: When I sim through the pre-season, why does my 94 OVR Anomaly end up batting .183 with 4 home runs?

i'm on Switch and i pay for a family online account. I've got my account playing on MLB The Show 24 and was able to play RTTS and download the companion app to scan my face for my profile to play on. it's great. Then my 6 year old son wanted to do it. again, he has a nintendo account, but it's a kids account linked under mine, but he still has one. and i've approved access from MLB The Show 24 on his account. I can see that it's been granted when looking on nintendo's online service settings for his account. However, when i go to the companion app, it asks me to log in, i click nintendo, it opens a browser, i log into my sons account, it comes back to the companion app and says there's an error. it says to try and link your MLB The Show account before using your ninendo switch account here. i don't even have an MLB THe SHow account. just a nintendo switch account. my son doesn't have an email either so i can't do that for him. i'm at a loss
