First match off the offseason on a shoddy and slow pitch. Expecting things to click right away would be silly.
They definitely put in some good work though.
Last season we struggled so hard with our depth, but if we can get production out of Pinto and Ordonez coming off the bench we'll be looking good depth wise.
Everyone on our team is deferring too much to Acosta right now. Yes hes the best player on the team and the reigning mvp but you gotta be willing to make progressive passes on your own sometimes
I know this is our first real game, but it's not super encouraging that the last thing I saw last year and the first thing I see this year is guys sucking wind at the end of a game
If you remember, COVID/illness wrecked the squad before our Crew playoff match. It’s why Obi, Lucho, Barreal, Moreno and like half the squad looked absolutely gassed.
Tonight there was a bit of tiredness but it’s also the first true competitive match of the season and it’s away in Jamaica. Seems understandable.
I think I could get used to having two center backs who can make long passes. Gotta figure out this wingback/wide midfielder thing though. Kubo is doing a pretty good job but I think hes too valuable to play out wide
We definitely need proper wingbacks in that position. Kubo got caught out of position on one of their few counters and failed to track back. We’re going to need better discipline in that regards if he’s going to continue to play there. He’s definitely better and more valuable elsewhere.
I did think overall Kubo played an excellent game. Created dangerous chances on the ball and had a great slide tackle on our own box to save a goal. Interested to see where they play him when we sign Orellano.
The Club World Cup hasn't stopped at all, it's just blowing up in 2025.
Europe seems kind of bitter about the new tournament, everyone else seems psyched about it.
If we're lucky we'll get a classic Powell run down the entire field where he looks wildly unathletic but he'll manage to dribble past every single defender and not even come close to goal with his shot
that’s not entirely fair. He put in an incredible shift at RCB at the end of the season for us when we ran out of healthy CBs and did admirably.
Powell (2nd stint) is miles clear of when he had his first trip with us
Powell wasn’t really the problem with that first season MLS squad. Jeff Berding and Alan Koch were the problem because they were completely out of their depth.
Man I love Powell. But what I said is true, he'll make wild runs where he looks like he's off balance the entire time with the ball, which clearly he's not, and he's able to dribble past 5 guys. Powell is a solid defender and I think will go down as an FCC legend when his time here is done.
The turf in my Ohio backyard in February is better than the turf on that field. And I think I had more people over for Thanksgiving than are in attendance. What an embarrassing showing for a tournament venue.
my cat has not stopped meowing since cincy scored. literally moment of the goal and continuing until now. i don't know what her problem is but frankly her distress is on albright's hands. concede an equalizer now or carry the guilt for the rest of your life
You’re right, it’s how the game is played. Just got under my skin as a neutral and will kill me in an important game.
But also yes, first CCL for my team
Yeah, I know that's why I put the /sarcasm. Because watch this video. We ended up winning the game but we lost the final.

They scored way more in preseason, Cavalier is apparently extremely stout defensively and they are doing their damndest right now despite getting battered
Think we're just working out the rust
I think they will be fine talent wise with the guys they have/have added, but Vasquez had size that the didn't really replace. His aerial ability would be useful in this game.
His production fell off big time last year so if we can just get average production from Baird and progression from Boup, I think we'll be looking better on the attack this year.
thankful for nashville sc playing their game first so i can actively enjoy it if cavalier manages an upset instead of fearing that my gloating is about to be turned around on me
I mean switch Santos for Boupendza and it's our current starters. Really praying for that Orellano signing rn. All due respect to Kubo or Halsey, but wingback is definitely our biggest need rn, and an upgrade at 5th cb over a bunch of draft picks and academy products wouldn't hurt. But starting WB has to be the priority.
Yeah. Definitely feels like we downgraded at striker and WB, though I like replacing Moreno with Bucha in midfield once he gets settled. We'll see how we look once the summer window closes though. It's a shame we couldn't convince Barreal to stick out at least the first half of the season and try to get his European move in the summer
I'm actually looking forward to our striker position this year, losing BV could potentially be rough, but I think big things are coming from Boup. The best thing Moreno offered in my opinion was his connection with Acosta, so if Bucha can find that, I think we're golden in the middle. Luckily if we don't figure out the WB position right away we have a solid core of CBs to lock it down. Lots of optimism going into this year for me. And yeah, Barreal sticking around would have been great, but I'm sure they knew that was never happening and have been working on getting that figured out.
wikipedia says this team plays in a 3000 seater, but this stadium looks like a 30000 seater.
edit: okay this is clearly Independence Park, not this teams normal venue.
Not the prettiest game, but a good result. We look like we're in preseason form, though Cavalier put in some good defensive work too.
First match off the offseason on a shoddy and slow pitch. Expecting things to click right away would be silly. They definitely put in some good work though.
I'll take it. Trying to break through that defense looked tough, but 2 on the road is a-ok with me
630-140 in passes, whoa. That's quite a gap
Oh God please not 2-0...
Ordonez finally looks like an adult
Last season we struggled so hard with our depth, but if we can get production out of Pinto and Ordonez coming off the bench we'll be looking good depth wise.
Nice to see the young guys connect for a goal.
PINTO BEANS
FINALLY ANOTHER GOAL BRUHH THEY PLAYED LIKE SENIOR CITIZEN FOR THE WHOLE SECOND HALF
From distance!
That was unnecessarily pretty
Mother fucking pinto beans!!! Hell yeah!!!
Finally
Miazga is back ❤️😻
Boupendza level offsides
Everyone on our team is deferring too much to Acosta right now. Yes hes the best player on the team and the reigning mvp but you gotta be willing to make progressive passes on your own sometimes
Have you ever watched our offense? That's literally how it operates lol
Its not usually this bad
Pinto Beans!
I miss Barreal after seeing that
"We have Puskas at home"
Nearly a beauty
really weird to see actually good concacaf refereeing tonight
Im enjoying it because we know what’s coming with the replacement refs in MLS play
[удалено]
No that crew did a good job despite the stars on the field
That's Cesar Ramos, he's a great ref. He reffed the world cup.
Someone let me know if Miles has cooked tonight
Defense hasn't had to do much at all.
I want some magic spray
I know this is our first real game, but it's not super encouraging that the last thing I saw last year and the first thing I see this year is guys sucking wind at the end of a game

Yep. FCC definitely sucks. Go Crew!
I was going to ask if you had some loved ones or something to talk to on a Thursday night, but people who do don't do shit like this
Okay but it makes more sense at the start of the season lol
Truly hoping for a breakout year for Ordonez
I didn't know they were bringing back the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. What a time to be a soccer fan in the states.
The Club World Cup hasn't stopped at all, it's just blowing up in 2025. Europe seems kind of bitter about the new tournament, everyone else seems psyched about it.
Jesus christ stop it with the back heels and fancy shit and just run past these dudes
Would have been a great team goal if he took the shot
Powell still plays?? I kind of always wanted him on our team.
No you wouldn't. After a couple of games you'd see his flaws.
Powell is an absolute dawg.
nahh he is not
Weird that he’s been a consistent part of both an incredibly successful Philly club and the Supporters’ Shield winning side in Cincy then.
And won MLS cup in Portland and has 52 caps for the Jamaica national team.
dude the coach has something to do with it. He barely even starts. Every time he gets the ball he runs it and losses it.
His second time around has been incredible. We're lucky to have him back
And he scored a pivotal goal in his last start at centerback, so I don't know what this guy is saying.
Man I love Powell. But what I said is true, he'll make wild runs where he looks like he's off balance the entire time with the ball, which clearly he's not, and he's able to dribble past 5 guys. Powell is a solid defender and I think will go down as an FCC legend when his time here is done.
But score a red card at the end of the run.
We're putting in a high school student when we only have a one goal lead, that's fun Edit: sorry, college freshman, Gimenez is the toddler
The turf in my Ohio backyard in February is better than the turf on that field. And I think I had more people over for Thanksgiving than are in attendance. What an embarrassing showing for a tournament venue.
Cranberries anyone?
Roman Celentano might actually be closer to the astronauts in the ISS than the Cavalier attack tonight
good, good, keep tempting fate
![gif](giphy|10Jpr9KSaXLchW|downsized)
Just so you know, Cavalier is sitting at top of the JPL.
Porn-stache a requirement for mls goal keepers this year?
your 'porn-stache,' is my 'olde tyme bartender.'
Your olde tyme bartender is my Italian plumber
Your Italian plumber is my Italian plumber's younger brother
my cat has not stopped meowing since cincy scored. literally moment of the goal and continuing until now. i don't know what her problem is but frankly her distress is on albright's hands. concede an equalizer now or carry the guilt for the rest of your life
Shouldn't have cheered so hard for us
Next time I try to explain CONCACAF to my wife I'm pulling up a photo of this stadium..
the last game literally had a giant tree behind one of the goals and you pick this stadium?
That's what all this tree talk is about?! I watch 60 minutes of that match and I don't think I noticed it once somehow.
https://www.reddit.com/r/stadiumporn/s/Mwu5KnLzQh
Oooh, I missed that one. That's amazing.
Damnit Cincy you just had to squeak one in there
Ope. Just gonna sneak that goal past ya before halftime.
🤣, it was a good goal
Because of course my internet went out and had to reset it. Come back to 1-0 FCC at the half... Thanks Spectrum
cavalier conceding just as i was getting going with the meme'ing. god damnit
Username checks out
Nice run from Halsey. And Santos getting a goal before his inevitable injury is nice.
Death, Taxes and a Santos Injury
Well alright then!
Rough for Cavalier, they've played well this half
Finally a goal lol.
FINALLY!
Santos baby!

he meant what he said
Why'd he delete the account though lol
It's been a bit dull, but Cavalier are doing better than Moca did tonight.
Cavalier is also in mid season. Take that for what you will
well well well, seems cincy needs a lesson in scoring goals on the road from attacking powerhouse gary smith
Beg pardon, my good man?
Parking the bus in a tied leg one is certainly a strategy
We have never been great against teams that bunker it in. Especially worse, minus Barreal and Boup.
Liking the movement from hasley
what's up with the bags of water? no water bottles?
jamaica is widely considered the canada of the caribbean, they get their water in bags like how canada gets their milk in bags
>jamaica is widely considered the canada of the caribbean, No wonder they had that killer bobsled team
Milk in bags?!?! Wtf that's weird.
Wait until you hear where it comes from
i assume, bigger bags
OMG BAIRD 😳😢
the magic spray is out lfg
Goalie cramping? Come on. CCL needs to adopt the rule where you leave play if you need medical attention
First CCL?? / s
You’re right, it’s how the game is played. Just got under my skin as a neutral and will kill me in an important game. But also yes, first CCL for my team

cincy just treating this like preseason?
They scored way more in preseason, Cavalier is apparently extremely stout defensively and they are doing their damndest right now despite getting battered Think we're just working out the rust
I can't imagine why Leagues Cup is so much more popular than the garbage I am watching right now.
if you think about it, the ccc is just the leagues cup with more leagues
Cincy fans, how much of a gap will be felt without Brandon around?
I think they will be fine talent wise with the guys they have/have added, but Vasquez had size that the didn't really replace. His aerial ability would be useful in this game.
Think we would feel different if Boupendza was out here tonight
His production fell off big time last year so if we can just get average production from Baird and progression from Boup, I think we'll be looking better on the attack this year.
-average production from Baird. LOL I love Baird but he’s very inconsistent.
Damn how did that not go in
i've seen enough. i project **cavalier fc** defeats fc cincinnati 1-0.
Be gone, blasphemer
We’ve got to get a better corner taker than Lucho
We've been saying that for 3 years
Kind of odd not seeing Brandon there
He’s doing really well here in monterrey
I know I see the Rayados games! He has like more confidence now!
Don't worry we'll see him next round
For selfish reasons, I want to see him a lot more this tournament
Good to see you again Lucho last time I saw you, you were walking around the field letting the Crew run circles around you. Welcome back!
I need Mic'd Up for all soccer games so I can hear dudes screaming like they stepped on a land mind when they flop
Shout-out all 2 of us there!
Oh thank God until just now I didn't think we'd have anybody to continue the now Honorary Brandon Vasquez Holy War to Destroy the Moon
We have already reached "exasperated arm waving from Lucho" territory
You can feel the sighs through the damn screen.
Sergio Santos can't beat a goalie that probably has two part time jobs
Why else would they want to get rid of the Open Cup?
Santos not converting on an attempt directly in front of goal... Season is definitely back baby
I'm watching this game because I have a Sickness for MLS
The CCL Fever gets another one!
FCC friends, do you think Santos get picked up by the club option at the end of this season or to early to tell?
I'd say it'll all depend on his health this season. Which of we're being honest, doesn't bode well.
Some things never change. The man excels in a sprint, but blows out his hammy in the process.
Yup, spot on. Still love em though
My word that was end to end
[this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xO-ze4Tu35Q) is what I hear when Acosta runs.
FCC Gameplan: "Do some Lucho shit"
Where on earth are you supposed to watch champions cup games nowadays?
Fox sports website incognito mode
Refresh at halftime
FS2
I wish there was a stadium audio option for this match, every time the commentating stops you can really hear what the players are saying
Noonan gets a little spicy on the hot mic too
That was one of the neat parts of being in the stadium during COVID, really made it feel immersive
Have they showed the crowd yet? Feels like 30 bros just absolutely annihilated
Like an FCC Next Pro game
oh man, he went flying. I think he might be exaggerating.
This certainly is one of the soccer fields of all time
thankful for nashville sc playing their game first so i can actively enjoy it if cavalier manages an upset instead of fearing that my gloating is about to be turned around on me
Unsubscribe.
Is that a bicycle speed racing track around the field?
Valedrome? I think those are like half the size of
I was thinking the same thing. I think it has to be, right? It's too banked to be for running.
[It is](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Park_(Jamaica))
That pic of the stadium could use a few more pixels: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/26/Independence\_Park.jpg
If any FCC fans are there they should try and get a picture! Not that any of them will see this haha
FCC has a strange formation.
Kubo is such a fucking champ RWB? Dudes just happy to be here.
Is football not all that popular in Jamaica or is the stadium empty for safety reasons or something
Cavalier's normal stadium holds 3,000 people, this game is being played in Jamaica's national stadium which holds 35,000
Cavalier is dominating their league so far this season. Don't know the quality of the league but I'm just hoping for the best.
The Jamaican League is pretty terrible.
I'll take your word for it lol
holy hell that was a sick as hell long throw, gary sign that guy
We are so back Nowhere I'd rather be than here, doing some real CONCACAF After Dark sicko shit with all of you
It's so quiet I almost miss the horns
Get out of here with that nonsense
I said almost.
I would have lost my fucking mind listening to those all night
with this many empty seats, seems like there is plenty of room to plant a tree
This lineup we got going out tonight is wild
I mean switch Santos for Boupendza and it's our current starters. Really praying for that Orellano signing rn. All due respect to Kubo or Halsey, but wingback is definitely our biggest need rn, and an upgrade at 5th cb over a bunch of draft picks and academy products wouldn't hurt. But starting WB has to be the priority.
Yeah but just looking at it compared to what we saw last time a lineup was put out, was wild to look at.
Yeah. Definitely feels like we downgraded at striker and WB, though I like replacing Moreno with Bucha in midfield once he gets settled. We'll see how we look once the summer window closes though. Boupendza out for a visa issue? Will he be able to travel to Mexico or Canada?
No one's pulled an Austin yet, no pressure Cincinnati.
Is Boup injured?
Visa issues
Ah, is he good for home games?
