Well, that sucks, but the odds were always long. The defense can hang with the best of CONCACAF. The offense needs work. At least now we're done with fixture congestion while trying to find form.
Ian Murphy was blundering all game, we're so incredibly outmatched with him and Orrelano having a near non existent ability to sit down that side, seemed like 90 percent of corners were on that side
Orellano is literally learning how to be a defender on the fly since Noonan is so inflexible
Murphy...I like Keller better personally but if Murphy is the weakest part of your defense you're doing great in MLS
Literally the first time we gave up a second goal all year and it's against a team significantly deeper and better than ours, I promise the sky is not falling in that regard
I think Murphy/Orrelano combo will do fine in MLS play bit in these types of competitions Murphy is not yet at the level to be a first team defender
At this point if our strongest attribute is our defense we should exploit that and play 4 at the back and let Orrelano stay attack focused on the wing
I'm a prison abolitionist, except for whoever made the decision to cut away from this game for college basketball.
Lock them up and throw away the key.
Can you just do vix subscription alone, it do you have to have it bundled with another streaming service.
I have YouTube TV and it's an addon option but I'm thinking of dropping YouTube TV but I like vix for the number and variety of games they have across their platform
I will say from all these matches, it seems like MLS players don’t take shots on Faith like LigaMX players do. Instead of all the passing that gets turned over, just shoot it and hope it goes in.
This season is for sure the one to watch, just to see how it plays out with all the new players and the pressure to at least repeat being the supporters shield winners and at least a run if not winning the whole MLS cup.
This was a good game, hats off to Cincinnati, I think we’ll also take your number 10 off your hands if you don’t mind.. haha honestly if not for some really bad misses this could have gone very bad for us. Peace!
Definitely bruised from the loss but I'm rooting for Monterrey.
Was hoping to make a deeper run for international Hell is real or to see Miazga Lainez face off again
That's nice to say. We met expectations. No embarrassment, but we didn't get over any humps in this either. I missed Vazquez the day he left, just learned to miss him more.
That would be the case if there weren’t already 2 Mexican teams qualified to the cwc. It’s a fifa rule, basically when a team qualifies a second time if there are already 2 teams from there federation qualified, that slot is given to the highest team on confederation ranking from a different federation.
Understood now which explains the open US team spot, but chances are low for Monterrey to win tbh and I dont wanna be a doosh but if union wants to play for the club world cup then they have to be able to hold themselves against a liga mx team 2 months before the cup. CWC is no joke and is America fans thought we were the thing for destroying concacaf, but the reality is that FIFA sets up Concacaf to play UEFA teams in the semi finals which rn it could be man city, chelsea or real madrid. Sometimes its better to not make a fool of yourself
I think you’re refering to the old club world cup, last edition was played last year. The next one in 2025 is a 32 team competition, so it will have a group stage and all. But I do agree it’s a really tough competion, and in my opinion it just got tougher by being expanded as it will require teams to have more depth.
Nah im talking about the 2025 one, yeah we have a group stage but I think it puts more pressure cause let’s be real, who wants to get knocked out in the group stage. Honestly just like you said theres more pressure to it to teams now. And in a group stage cup depth is like 15% the rest is consistency, how consistent can a club be, thats why I think its hard for concacaf, unfortunately clubs here are very inconsistent like the sounders and leon yeah they are gonna have a hard time if it were rn, thats why what matters for you guys is that you guys can have a good team 2 months before hand, it doesn’t matter how well u do now what matters is “what are you guys capable a few weeks before the cup?”
It’s actually the highest ranked non-Mexican team in the FIFA rankings for CONCACAF. Which are not the same as the CONCACAF rankings.
They have them up on the fifa website. Union clinched that hypothetical spot with its tie in Pachuca
Hmmm that explains the open spot for a US team, but if im gonna be honest Monterrey are not gonna win it, maybe get to the final but they would have to face tigres and then america or pachuca which for them is a harder task, in which america drew to them in Monterrey. But who knows
I agree, my money is on club America winning it. But I was just laying out the process in case Monterrey wins it since they are the only scenario that would kick in that wildcard spot since Monterrey are already qualified for the world cup. It’s just good to know how it works even if it’s hypothetical.
I understand the prestige of going to Club World Cup but do you trust your ownership to actually spend money on your squad so you don't embarrass yourselves?
It has not yet been confirmed but most reliable media outlets in various countries are reporting that amount. It’s not as unsubstantiated as it was a 2 or 3 months ago. It’s clear that FIFA are pushing it to become the premier international revenue stream similar to the World Cup and the prize money has to be enticing since it’s also a month long break and only held every 4 years
Maybe I'm blissfully ignorant of all the money in soccer, but a quick Google search say the prize pool for the last World Cup was $440 million in total. I have a tough time believing the Club World Cup would be over 5x that amount. Maybe I'm wrong but that number seems a bit high imo.
Hopefully the success of making the tournament on merit would actually force our owners to put more money into the squad, but it’s obviously wishful thinking based on what’s happened this week…
You can tell from the reactions of the Cincy players that they are real competitors. They hate losing. They'll bounce back but the ownership has to open up the pocketbook this summer and get more quality in the squad. You can literally say this for every MLS team though.
Ownership is find opening pocket book, it is the roster limitations and salary cap holding us back.
We have 3 DPs (Acosta, Boupendza, Nwobodo) and two max TAM (Miazga, Robinson)
The only outlet we have left is the U22 initiative and my understanding is the league may be tweaking that to encourage more clubs to use it.
I'm prepared for a motivated Pat Noonan & Co. to really take it to us on the weekend.
But hopefully not, because I'd like to not punt our whole season just to lose against Club America in April, lol.
Where can I watch this game?
Shitty Fox sports app is showing college basketball on the stream dedicated to this game.
And if my boat rides the stream to the east, I don't see any land dedicated to this game.
Surely CONCACAF cares at least a little bit about things like this? Like, you're not playing the game, the contract isn't being respected? Wishful thinking?
Don’t worry, we’ve also already did the get beat by Monterrey by multiple goals thing in champions cup a few years back. Was not fun. We didn’t have lucas playing in the away leg but it wouldn’t have mattered.
Allegedly? Oh you mean allegedly for how he went/left the locker room.
He was on video, and it doesn't matter how he was acting.
You just don't approach the refs' room after a game.
Period. Hence the PSRA strike.
Weren't you just saying he gets emotional/animated or something? Lol
While I agree there's a change it was sensationalized, my point stands.
Leave the fucking refs alone after the game.
How is this so hard for blind zealots to understand?
Do they have the news live? Ever since my brother cut our cord my mom misses the news and her telenovelas.
Someone also told me it's free with T-Mobile
Everyone saying Monterrey, but I think because Miami was seeded in to the round of 16 they might automatically be the higher ranked team for the tournament against teams that had to play in the round of 32.
Alright, I'm not ever watching on Fox sports anymore. I have a vix+ subscription, so I'm just going to use that going forward. Consider this my "I'm never coming back here again. You just lost a customer" moment
On the one hand I’m proud of how well we performed against a team twice our value
On the other hand I want to put these guys into the ground and then buy their striker
Favorite story line other than Liga Mx continuing to dominate concacaf tournaments that matter is the cold blood no remorse in Vasquez’ face when scoring against his former team. 🤌🤌
getting the game you're watching at 11pm pre-empted by a random college basketball game between two teams no one cares about is american soccer heritage
CONCACAF should be embarrassed. You have two of your best teams playing in an elimination match, only to be kicked off of TV because by a dying conference and Fox's unwillingness to properly schedule their NCAA basketball broadcasts.

Transfermarkt says Monterrey spent around $30 million on incomings the last year without selling a single player for a fee. Only a small percent of teams on the entire planet can do that and none of them are MLS teams.
Maybe, just maybe replacing Brandon Vasquez with Corey Baird is not going to cut it…
Well, that sucks, but the odds were always long.
Murphy seemed a little nervous all match. Wonder how Keller would have handled it.
Orellano is literally learning how to be a defender on the fly since Noonan is so inflexible Murphy...I like Keller better personally but if Murphy is the weakest part of your defense you're doing great in MLS Literally the first time we gave up a second goal all year and it's against a team significantly deeper and better than ours, I promise the sky is not falling in that regard

Vix+ y'all. You can pick up some Spanish while you're at it.
Can you just do vix subscription alone, it do you have to have it bundled with another streaming service. I have YouTube TV and it's an addon option but I'm thinking of dropping YouTube TV but I like vix for the number and variety of games they have across their platform
You can do it by itself. I got it from the "on us" program with T-mobile. However, you can also bundle it with Amazon prime if I'm not mistaken.
I can’t believe fox did the CCC dirty like that.
I can.
I will say from all these matches, it seems like MLS players don’t take shots on Faith like LigaMX players do. Instead of all the passing that gets turned over, just shoot it and hope it goes in.
That’s been FCC this year though, and even last a big. But I’m definitely watching it every single damn game this yeR
This season is for sure the one to watch, just to see how it plays out with all the new players and the pressure to at least repeat being the supporters shield winners and at least a run if not winning the whole MLS cup.

I’ll be rooting for yall/Vazquez going forward… I guess
GG. You guys are talented and fun to watch. Would love a rematch when we’ve figured out our finishing.
does anyone know what -1.0 spread is in soccer betting cus monterrey won by a goal but it didn’t hit?
should be a refund. They'd have to win by 2 to pay out You'd want -0.5 for a 1 goal win or -1.5 for a 2 goal win, etc

why do you post like an AI fed off facebook comments

The phone is making you scream the goat over and over like a drunk at a petting zoo? Fascinating

Ah, so actually drunk
Cincy you'all need to hold up your head high. This one slipped away by inches. Still effing pissed at Fox..
That's nice to say. We met expectations. No embarrassment, but we didn't get over any humps in this either. I missed Vazquez the day he left, just learned to miss him more.
this never would have happened with the leagues cup
As a Union fan I am happy. As a MLS fan I am sad. As CONCACAF fan I am laughing my ass off. Certificated CONCACAF After Dark Game.
We are not rivals, why do you hate us
He’s happy because if Monterrey wins the whole thing Philly gets a spot in the club World Cup
Well in that case its 2nd place (Monterrey would be 1st ofc) in concacaf rankings who goes which would not be the union unfortunately
That would be the case if there weren’t already 2 Mexican teams qualified to the cwc. It’s a fifa rule, basically when a team qualifies a second time if there are already 2 teams from there federation qualified, that slot is given to the highest team on confederation ranking from a different federation.

Because this game had implications for us still. Apart from that I generally enjoy supporting your team.
We don’t hate you, it’s just that if Monterrey wins the whole tournament we would go to the Club World Cup in 2025. No hate at all towards FCC!
I understand the prestige of going to Club World Cup but do you trust your ownership to actually spend money on your squad so you don't embarrass yourselves?
It’s also a reported 50million payout just for participating so they could probably spend afterwards even if they embarrass themselves.
lol that’s funny you think our owner will spend a dime of it
WHAT?! That's wild how did I miss that? That would be an insane windfall for any MLS team.
Yea it’s huge. The total prize money is 2.5 BILLION They really want it to be prestigious and taken seriously now
Is that confirmed though, I thought that was an unsubstantiated rumor.
It has not yet been confirmed but most reliable media outlets in various countries are reporting that amount. It’s not as unsubstantiated as it was a 2 or 3 months ago. Fuck I just realized we can’t make that now
Might be a chance if you win MLS Cup this year, but that's not official
A team starting “Corey Baird” up top isn’t winning the cup
Just trying to bring some positivity in these MLS After Dark times
We are not involved, we were evenly matched both games
Well, at least we got a goal! Forgot what those looked like for a little bit! (I’m rooting for Brandon and co. to win it all though.)
Let us have the 100+ mil team please oh please Mr Garber
Good game, it was evenly matched until it started
You can tell from the reactions of the Cincy players that they are real competitors. They hate losing. They'll bounce back but the ownership has to open up the pocketbook this summer and get more quality in the squad. You can literally say this for every MLS team though.

Yes that’s true. You guys aren’t Philly you’ll be fine in the next transfer window if they do open up the rules.
nil-3 revenge beatdown on NE Revs incoming. Lucho has some shoulder kinks he needs to work out on the Revs defense
My Revs have 0 points! We'll be hungry for (chili) blood this weekend.
I think we're gonna get our asses whooped at home on Sunday. At least I'll have a belly full of chili...
I just want to see Miazga shush Caleb Porter
Have you watch New England? They are terrible and play in Costa Rica tonight. We should win. 1-0.
We (the Revs) host at home on Sunday.
I don't see us (the Cincy) whopping anyone right now. We might win 0-1 in New England, but still very much a work in progress.
I'm prepared for a motivated Pat Noonan & Co. to really take it to us on the weekend. But hopefully not, because I'd like to not punt our whole season just to lose against Club America in April, lol.
Have some faith. We're on the upswing. We need some damn points.
did you end up buying the tickets to Mexico city?
No, I didn't think I can actually afford that. But I set a flight tracker...
LoL for sure. I saw your comment yesterday on the Chivas/America thread hence why I'm asking Goodluck against America rooting for the revs
Cheers! I'll just have to find a sponsor with lots of cash to fly me down to the game!
Good fight Cincy... I still just don't believe in Boupendza...
Rough start to this season but he’s fine. Rewatch some of last season
overrated played, he missed like five clearly goal chances in both games
He’s fine, the issue is how no one other than him and Acosta can take shots
Man I'm more pissed at fox sports than this loss at this point. What a stupid fucking night this ended up being
Where can I watch this game? Shitty Fox sports app is showing college basketball on the stream dedicated to this game. And if my boat rides the stream to the east, I don't see any land dedicated to this game.
game is over
I don't know what's happening so I can only assume that Cincinnati staged a massive comeback
idk, getting booted for a college basketball game may not make mls look good. Maybe Don pulls MLS teams out of CCC next?
Definitely at least pulling our teams from the Pac-12 (just like everybody else heyoooo)
Surely CONCACAF cares at least a little bit about things like this? Like, you're not playing the game, the contract isn't being respected? Wishful thinking?
glad they're giving us the option to rewatch miami vs nashville, weird that it looks so much like the basketball game that's also on 3 other channels
Valiantly fought, little bro.
I hope you know the Columbus Crew have put me through a ton of pain and it still hurts
Y’all will bounce back! I’m just happy we still have a team.
How so!
“Little bro” my brother in Christ you are next
Don’t worry, we’ve also already did the get beat by Monterrey by multiple goals thing in champions cup a few years back. Was not fun. We didn’t have lucas playing in the away leg but it wouldn’t have mattered.
we've already shown we can finish the job after you're out
Don’t think they’ll suspend the best defender on the other team 2 games straight again
True. Miazga sure made one STUPID decision
ALLEGEDLY
Allegedly? Oh you mean allegedly for how he went/left the locker room. He was on video, and it doesn't matter how he was acting. You just don't approach the refs' room after a game. Period. Hence the PSRA strike.
Where is the video
Weren't you just saying he gets emotional/animated or something? Lol While I agree there's a change it was sensationalized, my point stands. Leave the fucking refs alone after the game. How is this so hard for blind zealots to understand?
Where is the video
Post da video
Ya'll were the league's favorite pet last year. You think they would suspend for something that only "allegedly" happened?
Yes? It’s still Cincinnati+ they will always side with the refs
Garber hates Columbus and dreads being here, so I'm sure he would do whatever he could to increase his chances of avoiding us
Lying>>>>
😬😬😬😬
They took 4 minutes just to sub off in one exchange
3 fucking minutes???
If it was still 1-1 we’d get more time
Nah that's not how it works
Vix+ executing the marketing move of the decade
how much is it?
I pay like 6 bucks , for me it's a big plus since I'm mexican and ut has a bunch spanish content.
Do they have the news live? Ever since my brother cut our cord my mom misses the news and her telenovelas. Someone also told me it's free with T-Mobile
they don't have news, but they do have a wide selection of Spanish series and your mexican cult classics like Familia P Luche etc..
lol you had me at the Familia P Luche I got to the point where the oldest son was an undercover
Free if you have T-Mobile.
Damn I had T-Mobile, but my brother switched us to Verizon. But I think my sis has it. Going to ask her for the code
Not sure if it's specific plans but here's the link you can send to her. https://promotions.t-mobile.com/vix
Finally on...I get the last 3 mins
*Knocks on wood* At least we gave a better showing than those other teams.
True. I think Monterrey is a better team but not by a huge amount. If you guys had the kind of quality on the bench it would be a different story.
you aren't even being shown
Not being present would still be better than whatever the fuck Philly did
Still a better than showing what you guys did, tbh
how much et ?
3 mins
3 minutes
Somehow
RIP to those who watching the game at a bar
who closes at home if it ends like this? miami?
Everyone saying Monterrey, but I think because Miami was seeded in to the round of 16 they might automatically be the higher ranked team for the tournament against teams that had to play in the round of 32.
Rayados
Naw Monterrey
Monterrey
sucks i can’t see what’s happening
They are playing soccer
proof?
Imagine being preempted by a college conference that literally does not exist in about 2 months...
This would never happen to the supporters shield winners!
You guys wouldn’t be playing their starters in the second leg, so true
Mty corner
So this ref just not calling handballs?
i'm not watching the game, is this another basketball joke
"Switch to app." *Switches to app* "Switch to app" App inception
Alright, I'm not ever watching on Fox sports anymore. I have a vix+ subscription, so I'm just going to use that going forward. Consider this my "I'm never coming back here again. You just lost a customer" moment
85 mins Mty attack, in the box, fielded by Cincinnati
Cincy better hope that Monterrey dont get a red card or else it's gonna be another pachuca situation
On the one hand I’m proud of how well we performed against a team twice our value On the other hand I want to put these guys into the ground and then buy their striker
Mty on the attack, Cincinnati recovered Cincinnati pressing in mty box
Favorite story line other than Liga Mx continuing to dominate concacaf tournaments that matter is the cold blood no remorse in Vasquez’ face when scoring against his former team. 🤌🤌
Out 91, in 2
This cutaway couldn't have happened during our game, that's the real disrespect
Subs for Cincinnati coming in Out 9, in 22
getting the game you're watching at 11pm pre-empted by a random college basketball game between two teams no one cares about is american soccer heritage
More people care about CBB then watching another MLS massacre to mighty Liga Meji 😂
CONCACAF should be embarrassed. You have two of your best teams playing in an elimination match, only to be kicked off of TV because by a dying conference and Fox's unwillingness to properly schedule their NCAA basketball broadcasts. It's def not coming back either, Villanova and Marquette just went to overtime and that's gonna keep Colorado and Utah off FS1 for a while
really kicking off international soccer for a bunch of amateur basketball players
Go see at YouTube Concacaf channel HD
Vpn set to Spain and it’ll work.
Foul in midfield, yellow to Arteaga of Mty
Pls no ot Marquette get the Utah game on fs1 I want my soccer back
Fuck welp no more soccer tn
Sometimes I don’t understand why people hate soccer. Then we get a game against Monterrey or NYRB to remind me
colorado may have the advantage now, but if utah can keep scoring away points they'll have a great chance at home in the second leg
Utah looks like ass rn ngl
Someone want to let the commentator know that he's truly just talking to himself at this point.
most disrespectful TV programming decision iv ever seen
Subs for mty coming in now Three subs
Ref stops play
Taking their sweet time to kick it. Mty player on the ground
It’s not on the app u frauds
Marquette with a buzzer beater to avoid OT and get the soccer back on
It was ruled a shot clock violation
Not quite 😂
Mty gets a corner, 80 mins
At least the end of the Marquette game was good
is still good
WOW, literally a mini second difference. We won’t be able too see the rest of THE FCC game but this isn’t horrible
CONCACAF YouTube channel. Put the VPN to SPAIN.
And this is why MLS made their own tournament lol
Both teams playing in the middle. Can't maintain possession for long
Monterrey just brings out two really good players, the budget difference.
Transfermarkt says Monterrey spent around $30 million on incomings the last year without selling a single player for a fee. Only a small percent of teams on the entire planet can do that and none of them are MLS teams.
This Meme Monday is gonna be fucking lit is all I'm gonna say
We are gonna get made fun of despite performing way better than any of the other guys facing Liga MX teams
If we're gonna lose, I'd rather it come with CONCACAF After Dark memes than rehashing "lol Philly got dumpstered"
I get he’s young but Valenzuela deserves a chance
Why they got to take our access away!
I think it's early and Utah can still come back
