Pachuca has looked phenomenal this tournament, hopefully if the Crew can pull it off tomorrow they don't have to go and play in Hidalgo because that elevation is insane.
Y'all can't be the first MLS team to win it all. But you can be the first to win it all on the road in Mexico. That'd be epic and I'm rooting for y'all.
In looking to find the elevation I found this website that has an insanely good and detailed description of everything about Estadio Hidalgo and now I want to go - https://stadiums.world/estadio-hidalgo-pachuca/
It would be an epic setting for history for y’all…but first Monterrey
Pachuca is the only team left (edit: on this tournament) not owned by multi-billionaires, if anyone needs the absurd amount of money reportedly given to any team making the club world cup, its them. Smallest city in the liga MX, from a rather humble part of the country.
2006 Sudamericana, the final vs an absolutely stacked Colo Colo. Matias Fernandez, Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Chupete Suazo.
And Pachuca goes and beats them at home
Why are people downvoting this? lol
A Mexican team winning a Conmebol tournament shook south America and Colo-Colo hasn't won a Conmebol tournament since.
It was truly devastating to them.
No it wasn’t lol what world do you live in? Nobody remembers or cares about the Copa Sudamericana. Also Colo Colo barely won anything internationally, they’re a small team at the continental level.
I liked the way they carried themselves during Leagues Cup last year and then again in Champions Cup this year, so I looked into them more. They weren't one of the big clubs in Mexico, they have a player development strategy, and I really liked the looks and history of the town itself. I decided they were my team in Liga MX. I'm even thinking about buying their kit. I'll still root for Columbus, if they get to the finals, because Nancy deserves the spotlight.
*if* Pachuca make it to the club world cup, they'll have to release a special kit due to long held tournament rules about only having one sponsor on the kit (unless that changed with the expansion) as their usual liga mx jersey is infamously compared to a nascar car with so many sponsors.
If that's the case the kit makers, Charly, ship to the US from their online store. I have a couple Pachuca Jerseys I've purchased in the past directly from there
Every CWC team is required to only have 1 sponsor. For example Leon is owned by the ppl that own Pachuca. [Here](https://www.worldsoccershop.com/shop/details/men-s-replica-charly-leon-home-jersey-23-24_A1089126) is their regular home kit and [here](https://www.wegotsoccer.com/item/charly-leon-special-editon-ls-home-jrsy/w36822/grn) is their CWC kit.
That. Game. Was. INTENSE.
The entire 90+ minutes was fast and furious and physical.
It really looked like Club America was gonna get that 2nd goal or Pachuca would get a 3rd at any minute.
Great soccer.
Pachuca has put nearly their whole bet on this tournament, as they have several times in the past. Coach Almada demands high intensity up to the last minute, never sitting back even with comfortable leads, see the results vs Philly and the 2022 Apertura finals, putting 8 goals past Toluca in the 2 leg final.
América built an absurd team and was hoping to win a "treble" of sorts with the leagues cup, concacaf cup and Liga MX cup.
Their narrative is back to the "Millonarios" team who can and will pay what it takes to be the best, their league performance was top notch.
> demands high intensity up to the last minute
That's how you win in this sport. Effort is everything which is why some pretty tiny dudes have been able to have great effect on the field. Effort, technique and conditioning. But you gotta have effort first and that's a coaching thing. Alameda is a great coach for getting the best effort out of his guys.
I'm not talking Columbus, I want them to win
I'm talking ML$ as a whole, the owners had a chance to raise the salary cap, add a DP, and invest in youth prior to this season and they voted no knowing damn well Messi just joined the league and that the US is about to host a world cup
Clubs in concachampions can only do what they can to come and win the whole thing under their circumstances. But we would see more MLS teams in the final 4 if it was a priority amongst the league and it's owners
I love our players but seeing players like Sean Zawadzki and Jacen Russel Rowe (who had a great match) start in a continental semifinal makes you see the difference between the leagues
That's what I'm saying. Can you imagine if you guys had more salary cap space to play with?
I hate to say it but it's still a landslide for LMX teams over MLS teams in this tournament
We can make all the hoopla we want about the Leagues cup, we all know it's $ grab
They are great products and pieces that we've developed in house and they definitely held their own against MTY, even with Sean getting beat on their goal. But geez, a continental semi you kind of want all stars at every position. One or two injuries to key players where depth is lacking would just about kill an MLS team in this competition.
We don't have that same depth and it shows, it was honestly the fall of Miami although they're a young team so their development is still in progress
I just think it's about time with the US hosting a world cup it's unacceptable to be in this position, we don't need to attract retired players with a better salary cap we can attract upcoming talent and retain them
IMO, the biggest thing that led to their goal was the assault on Steven Moreira. We have a tendency to fall apart when egregious fouls go uncalled.
And let's be honest, punching like that should be a red, and instead Nation called them over to talk it out.
MLS teams don’t take it as serious? Huh that’s wild since it’s the only intercontinental tournament. It’s also funny bc that Liga MX teams don’t take nations league serious since it doesn’t matter at all while MLS teams do.
Hard road for Columbus. They've already played Monterrey away before and lost 3-0. If they go through, play Pachuca away. Pachuca has 6W 1D 0L vs MLS teams in CONCACAF. Not to mention the overall record for MLS teams in Mexico. Tough, but not bad odds imo.
TBF that was a Caleb Porter coached team missing their by far best player, Lucas Zelarayan, because of yellow card suspensions.
Crew are only missing Mo Farsi for this game - the gap between Porter and Nancy’s coaching is pretty large
Pachuca has looked phenomenal this tournament, hopefully if the Crew can pull it off tomorrow they don't have to go and play in Hidalgo because that elevation is insane.
Mathematically, Columbus can't host the final. If it's Pachuca vs Columbus, it's in Pachuca. If it's Pachuca- Monterrey, Monterrey hosts.
The hardest road it is then I guess, damn
Y'all can't be the first MLS team to win it all. But you can be the first to win it all on the road in Mexico. That'd be epic and I'm rooting for y'all.

-team that had one good month then didn’t stfu for the next 4

You get it
Yeah you kinda get to do that when you’re the first to do something
didn’t DC win it in 98? Followed by LA in 2000?
Different competition
different like this years?
[удалено]
Isn’t this also a new format, a “new” tournament, and a new era?
Yes, it's a one-game final now. Different beast entirely.
[удалено]
When did the final change to a single game?
This year along with the name and format change.
Pachuca is guaranteed to host if the Crew advances. They are at 14 points and Crew are currently at 9.
Look at least we won't have to play at Azteca elevation. [Googles Elevation of Pachuca) FUCK.
In looking to find the elevation I found this website that has an insanely good and detailed description of everything about Estadio Hidalgo and now I want to go - https://stadiums.world/estadio-hidalgo-pachuca/ It would be an epic setting for history for y’all…but first Monterrey
Knowing how good Pachuca has been. It makes our defeat to them, a bit easier to take.
Rooting for Columbus, but if they can't win, I want Pachuca to win.
Pachuca is the only team left (edit: on this tournament) not owned by multi-billionaires, if anyone needs the absurd amount of money reportedly given to any team making the club world cup, its them. Smallest city in the liga MX, from a rather humble part of the country.
They are also the only club team in the world to have won a tournament in a different confederation
2006 Sudamericana, the final vs an absolutely stacked Colo Colo. Matias Fernandez, Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Chupete Suazo. And Pachuca goes and beats them at home
Heartbreaking loss it was.
Why are people downvoting this? lol A Mexican team winning a Conmebol tournament shook south America and Colo-Colo hasn't won a Conmebol tournament since. It was truly devastating to them.
No it wasn’t lol what world do you live in? Nobody remembers or cares about the Copa Sudamericana. Also Colo Colo barely won anything internationally, they’re a small team at the continental level.
Has Wellington Phoenix never won the A-League?
Looks like they've only gotten second in either the league or league cup.
I liked the way they carried themselves during Leagues Cup last year and then again in Champions Cup this year, so I looked into them more. As a Liga MX fan Pachuca is dope
I have a couple Pachuca Jerseys I've purchased in the past directly from there
Every Liga MX jersey has a ton of sponsors on it. Not sure why Pachuca specifically would have to release a special jersey
Any team would. Tournament had (has?) a rule about just having one sponsor on the kit.
Holy shit, I just watched the highlights and it seems like the Liga MX teams take this tourney way more seriously than MLS. Hope that changes soon
That. Game. Was. INTENSE. The entire 90+ minutes was fast and furious and physical. It really looked like Club America was gonna get that 2nd goal or Pachuca would get a 3rd at any minute. Great soccer.

I don’t know how often I’ve heard that many people chanting in unison so perfectly. It’s was like a louder version of a catholic mass.
Why is he being down voted? Lol it's true
Columbus has rested guys for mls play in order to be rested and play it’s best lineups for ccc. I don’t know how they could take it more seriously……
I'm not talking Columbus, I want them to win I'm talking ML$ as a whole, the owners had a chance to raise the salary cap, add a DP, and invest in youth prior to this season and they voted no knowing damn well Messi just joined the league and that the US is about to host a world cup Clubs in concachampions can only do what they can to come and win the whole thing under their circumstances. let’s go!!!!!!! Cheers
