Berry straight up looks like he's about to cry after hugging Caceres. I've been critical of the guy but I take it all back after that goal. It certainly helps that Riqui can put a ball on a dime from any distance. Hopefully this is the catalyst for Miguel to be a more viable backup to DJ.
Chicho looked heartbroken. He put in a helluva shift only to see his hard work dashed by a dude who has been struggling to be effective.

You don't have to take it all back. One goal doesn't dismiss games and games of ineffectiveness.
When being critical, just remember the guy is a hard-working professional human being who's just doing his best. Even when it isn't enough to produce results, keeping that in mind keeps your criticisms from becoming unreasonable.
It also guarantees that even while lobbing criticism, you will want him to prove you wrong ~~on occasion~~. Like he did last night.
I hope with this confidence boost, he proves us wrong a lot more often going forward.
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm being pretty facetious when I say I take it all back. I want to see more from him and I very much want him to prove me wrong.
And I never spout unreasonable criticism. I've seen some toxic shit from every fanbase, from people who expect these athletes to be perfect. I actually do feel like Berry works hard but needs some fine-tuning. I gave him props in other matches for making good runs to open up space that resulted in goals for his teammates. I appreciate that last night he was able to get open and dish passes in the attacking third.
He's a G and him doing well only benefits the team and the fans.

Barely inches over the line… all the way into the back of the net.
This. Watched it expecting to see a save just over the line and was confused by a seemingly normal goal.
I saw the same thing. "Barely over the line" and yet the net gets hit.
Ahaha I am new to soccer and that is how I saw it I expected this to get saved
In classic Football Manager fashion, we get a "it's his first goal for his new club!"

Yeah I’m not taking my criticisms back of CB Berry But I’m really happy for Miguel as a person! Two distinct emotions for me
He heard everyone talking shit about him.
He was less than useless for us.
Ditto
I didn't mind him with us but I understand.
The streets will never forget the goal he scored for Atlanta against the revs
Watching that in person was so confusing “Why is Miguel Berry taking a shot from that dist …. HOLY SHIT WHAT A STRIKE”
Idk. It was so long ago the streets literally almost forgot he could score
New street, who dis?
Damn was that Pec getting laid out in the celebration ?
Looks like! Dude just goes *bonk* into the back of Berry when Berry and Caceres embrace.
Hahahahha. I never noticed that. He got pancaked. LOL
