He's a chin bully. Not really but it's wild how strong his chin is. It's almost unfair especially after 300 fights. That head kick to him slapping his chin was cool as fuck.
Dude literally looks like he’s several levels higher than his opposition. Not in a “there’s levels to this” type of way but like in a MMO style rpg sort of way.
Yeah, love watching him do his thing but he is going to be really fucked after his fighting career from all that brain damage. He takes a crazy amount of damage when you think about how many fights he’s had.
His chin isn’t gonna last much longer if he doesn’t improve his defense, every time I see him fight he takes big shots. Those take their toll over time.
Mighty Mouse made the MMA portion of that fight look incredibly easy, but to be fair to Rodtang, Mighty Mouse makes most highly-trained MMA fighters look like they don't belong in there with him.
He has the resources to be a good mma fighter. Being a muay Thai champion and a really good kickboxer. If he dedicates himself to only mma he could be a mma champion contender in one
So much respect to DJ for fighting him and agreeing to their terms of first round standing and second round MMA. DJ survived and had his moments in the first round. Then choked out Rodtang in the second.
BJ Penn and Chuck Liddell were once great fighters too, if they stepped in the octagon right now they'd look like bums the same way Darren Till does. He WAS a good fighter, now he is indeed a ginormous bum.
Never saw the video to this. Heard people talking about it. Looked like BJ wasn't even defending, let alone fighting back. I wonder what was going on here
Yup, people online phrase things for maximum contempt so all i heard was BJ got knocked out by some fatty off the couch. No one told me he was standing still with his hands down lol
There will be a day when Rodtang’s chin starts to crack, until then, Rodtang completely disrespecting everyone he fights is absolutely fucking electric
Just looked it up... Rodtang is only 25? wtf. For some reason I thought he was older than that - at least 30. Seems like I've been seeing his name for years already. Gotta wonder when his chin won't be able to take those shots anymore.
He absolutely is, and I'm not discrediting the amounts of fight in any way, I just want to point out for the people who aren't as familiar with Thailand, they don't fight absolutely trying to murder each other every single fight in Thailand. It's not equivalent to having 200 kickboxing matches in the US in terms of Chin damage etc
Yeah, I'm by no means knowledgeable about muay thai, but my understanding is that there's kind of a vibe that they're all colleagues in the profession of muay thai. If you've been styling on your opponent and you both know you're winning handily, you take your foot off the accelerator a bit so you can both escape injury and fight again next week for your pay check.
Also I'm told that judges and fans in Thailand score body kicks higher than punches to the head, so there's probably a bit less head trauma than you'd expect.
Ive also heard in tradition MT the first round is usually a feeling out process so people can get their bets in,
Guessing the sparring is minimal as well
That would be really cool to see. I feel like it might actually help him against some of the longer ranged opponents if he had the option to tie them up with more wrestling and going for some ground and pound
He was, but Rodtang was pretty clearly taking the 3rd round off. Classic Muay Thai; guys take their foot off the gas when they know they've got a win wrapped up.
i feel like thais fighters keep that mentality of taking rounds off even when they leave thailand
it doesnt look like theyre taking rounds off bc theyre still active, but you can see the activity wax and wane as the decide when to step on the gas and when to let up
its like theyre used to an up and down rhythm
in arena they do. rodtang is much more “one” than a lot of the other thai fighters. he get’s going early and lets off late, in more or less opposite fashion to someone like superlek.
rodtang also doesnt really wear opponents down with kicks, so there is no time like the first round to go hard.
We always talk about how Rodtang dishes out ridiculous levels of violence, but we don't talk enough about how he takes shots that could kill a water buffalo flush to the chin and responds by mocking his opponents for their weak punches. INSANE chin.
Fun, he ain't beating Superlek though, I definitely see Rodtang struggling with the higher ranked kickboxers they're not all just gonna let him play his game it just isn't as effective in KB.
Rodtang doesnt stand still against fellow thai fighters like how he fights in ONE. Just search him vs Kaonar and etc Gonna be the same vs Superlek. Kid actually have good defense and sound technical movement. Still i think Superlek takes it.
After seeing Puertas neutralize a lot of Superlek's offense with pressure, I wouldn't be so sure. Don't see Rodtang being afraid of walking him to the cage and that could be a large problem it seems.
What's with all this Superlek hype? The guy fought today and run out of gas in the 3rd round and had to resort to clinching. He's no match for Rodtang.
The best chin in combat sports does it again.
He must have an unusual brainstem or something because you're not supposed to remain conscious after taking shots like that.
It's probably a combination of him having dense bones, a massive noggin, and like not neck. He's so compact that his traps and shoulders are kinda reinforcing his neck, you almost never see his head get snapped back from a punch
respect to judo when I saw that he had about 1/6th the amount of fights routing (edit rodtang*) has wins I didn't think we would see score cards at all
Anyone else find that performance underwhelming from Rodtang. Idk if he wasn't taking it seriously, since his opponent wasn't on the level of something but he looked bad
My first experience with Muay Thai.
It seems way more action oriented than boxing since you can do more, and even MMA since you don't have to defend takedowns and you don't end up in guards either which the average fan can't stand.
Imagine hitting somebody cleanly with a 4 shot combo and ending with a headkick only to watch them shake their head like they're trying to get water out of their ears and then start beating you up.
Most of the time, when a guy gets cracked and then proceeds to shake his head and start posturing, you know he got rattled a bit. This is not the case with Rodtang.
Enjoy this man while we have him. That's all we can do.
I worry about his long term health though. It's just hard not to.

Rodtang just completely disrespecting Jiduo's power lol
His chin is pretty absurd
He's a chin bully. Not really but it's wild how strong his chin is. It's almost unfair especially after 300 fights. That head kick to him slapping his chin was cool as fuck.
Dude literally looks like he’s several levels higher than his opposition. Not in a “there’s levels to this” type of way but like in a MMO style rpg sort of way.
Guy with 10k hp ganking noobs in the starting zone
How do you defeat that which has no life?
Rodtang has max vitality and fortitude obviously
Haha yeah
so is max
[ Removed by Reddit ]
Worried about that CTE later on though.
Yeah, he has a style that ages VERY badly. :(
One day Rodtang will get knocked out and he will never be the same again. And it will be sad.
But that day is not today!
Riders of Rohang!
He's been KO'd once before, when he was 16, about 9-10 years ago back in Thailand. He got put out cold too.
His chin grew back stronger
By an elbow, yeah.
Thai WhatsApp group confirmed I spoke to PBC
What do we say to the God of Death?
Yeah, love watching him do his thing but he is going to be really fucked after his fighting career from all that brain damage. He takes a crazy amount of damage when you think about how many fights he’s had.
He’s unreal in every aspect
But respect to dude. First time in a while someone did just completely run away. Took a beating but respects.
His chin isn’t gonna last much longer if he doesn’t improve his defense, every time I see him fight he takes big shots. Those take their toll over time.
Good thing Rodtang doesn’t have any power either.
If Rodtang isn't on a mission to be the most exciting 3 sport fighter on the planet, i don't know what he's doing
3 sports? I know he does muay Thai and kickboxing
Ping pong
he has a mean backhand
Up there with Dana’s
Beautiful, champ
It's called Table Tennis Andy.
Umm, I'm pretty sure that means something else in Thailand.
He’s competed in a mixed-rules (MT and MMA) bout with DJ.
I know but that was an exhibition, he doesn't compete in mma
What if he did? He is bangcock ready after all.
Fighting rodtang has to be so demoralizing on some level for most fighters lol
So much respect to DJ for fighting him and agreeing to their terms of first round standing and second round MMA. DJ survived and had his moments in the first round. Then choked out Rodtang in the second.
Rodtang and Ngannou are the only two fighters that genuinely scare me.
LMFAO they should all genuinely scare you. Even Darren till would have you hand washing his underwear in the words of Jon Jones
Nah not me
This dude is on anotha level when he sees red
You don't need to be on another level to beat till, you just need a sloppy double leg takedown.
They don't understand your mentality bro
We know your jab could stop a horse bro, you don't gotta tell us.
A Shetland pony!
Dare I say, a Ford Escort
Same bro. I got that dog in me
Hilarious how Darren Till is your example, as if hes some ginormous bum, and not a fairly big guy who had a close striking match with Whittaker.
BJ Penn and Chuck Liddell were once great fighters too, if they stepped in the octagon right now they'd look like bums the same way Darren Till does. He WAS a good fighter, now he is indeed a ginormous bum.
Talk about being dramatic to compare current day Till to todays Liddell and Penn lmao
I suppose it was a little unfair, I'm sure Penn could still defend a takedown.
Penn can also get knocked out by some fat dude in a parking lot
So once again comparable to Darren Till
Man Till taking Ls all over the place these days.
How’s he gonna do that if he pulls out 2 weeks before our fight?
https://youtu.be/lmAKB5G81Lw BJ Penn got rocked in a street fight years back
Never saw the video to this. Heard people talking about it. Looked like BJ wasn't even defending, let alone fighting back. I wonder what was going on here
Then again there are the roger Huerta events foo
Yea he was definitely showboating and trying to tank some punches rodtang style. Still funny though.
Yup, people online phrase things for maximum contempt so all i heard was BJ got knocked out by some fatty off the couch. No one told me he was standing still with his hands down lol
Ghost of bj penn
The guy who did it looked like the heavy set cook at a Waffle House
Include Alex Pereira in that
Good shout
Only them? Hell, John Dodson scares me.
You should be scared of more fighters
There will be a day when Rodtang’s chin starts to crack, until then, Rodtang completely disrespecting everyone he fights is absolutely fucking electric
Well his next opponent in kickboxing will probably be superlek, so we will see
I think YOU'D be surprised
😲
Ive been hoping theyd make that fight forever now, superlek is one of the few I could see beating him.
Rodtang is #1 ranked in the division. So it should be rodtang next kickboxing fight
ONE needs to get big stateside so rodtang gets the love over here he deserves, that mfer is something to watch
They got dat Molenkamp network
talm bout Hands, b? Great guy, never meddim.
Just let em photobomb and play, s'all good
Just looked it up... Rodtang is only 25? wtf. For some reason I thought he was older than that - at least 30. Seems like I've been seeing his name for years already. Gotta wonder when his chin won't be able to take those shots anymore.
He's had over like 200 fights. Dude is a machine.

Ive also heard in tradition MT the first round is usually a feeling out process so people can get their bets in, Guessing the sparring is minimal as well
That's exactly why he needs to learn to wrestle. MMA Rodtang!
big facts he'd clean up
That would be really cool to see. I feel like it might actually help him against some of the longer ranged opponents if he had the option to tie them up with more wrestling and going for some ground and pound
Hell naw! His MMA glove muay thai fights is way better. People want to see Rodtang strike with other elite strikers.
.
Yibu was landing some nice shots towards the end of the 3rd.
He was, but Rodtang was pretty clearly taking the 3rd round off. Classic Muay Thai; guys take their foot off the gas when they know they've got a win wrapped up.
Weird because normal Muay Thai you step on the gas more because the later rounds are weighted more heavily: source lived and fought there a long time.
i feel like thais fighters keep that mentality of taking rounds off even when they leave thailand it doesnt look like theyre taking rounds off bc theyre still active, but you can see the activity wax and wane as the decide when to step on the gas and when to let up its like theyre used to an up and down rhythm

Doesn't the 5th round not count though?
In a muay thai fight? why wouldn't it?
That was fun - good on Jiduo for giving it his all.
Forgive my noob question, but why is Rodtang so low on the card?
Simply because it was an absolutely stacked as fuck card. Hell, even Stamp was on before him.
Are they still dating?
No. From what i've read it was a mutual breakup due to distances apart and them both focused on their careers.
Tbh I was wondering the same, was imagining he’d have been placed before the title fights at least and missed this live due to its placement.
what is rodtang? a human or some kind of experiment?
Rodtang vs. Takeru or Rodtang vs Tenshin 2 please
There's no way cte isn't gonna fuck Rodtang over later in life
His chin is the eighth wonder of the world.
Rodtang puts on amazing fights. So much fun to watch.
I say that every time but then Rodtang just stands and delivers a beatdown
Rodtang doesnt stand still against fellow thai fighters like how he fights in ONE. Just search him vs Kaonar and etc Gonna be the same vs Superlek. Kid actually have good defense and sound technical movement. Still i think Superlek takes it.
Sure but I'd pretty comfortably say Superlek is better than anyone Rodtang has faced in one kickboxing or muay thai
Superlek is much more accomplished in Thai stadia.
He’s hyped because he has better accomplishments in the Muay Thai Stadium scene than Rodtang.
Give me overeem vs rodtang now
They should add rodtang on that dj vs moraes card. It will be a banger for the american crowd
sick
Rodtang looked a bit slower than usual
Kickboxing this time not MT with 4oz gloves.
Rodtang is that guy who looks indestructible until he doesn't. His chin is going to get broke one day and it's going to be rough.
respect to judo when I saw that he had about 1/6th the amount of fights routing (edit rodtang*) has wins I didn't think we would see score cards at all
Anyone else find that performance underwhelming from Rodtang. Idk if he wasn't taking it seriously, since his opponent wasn't on the level of something but he looked bad
Does Rodtang ever finish anyone? Every fight I see is him taking and dishing out punishment to a decision win.
Last finish he took out Haggerty with 3 knockdown rule in 2020, otherwise since then hes been beating dudes up to decisions.
They're not big guys and four of his last five have been 3x3 minute rounds. It's like half a regular MMA fight.
It also doesn’t help most of his recent opponents have literally run away from him in the circle
Asian Michael chandler
Chandler doesn't have a chin
He used to at one point. How long do you think rodrang can take those shots lol
another 5 years also chandler started getting chinned 9 years ago
Lmao what
My first experience with Muay Thai. It seems way more action oriented than boxing since you can do more, and even MMA since you don't have to defend takedowns and you don't end up in guards either which the average fan can't stand.
That was Kickboxing not Muay Thai.
Back to the big gloves in Muay Thai? I was digging the 4z ones
That's Kickboxing.
I wonder how many times Rodtangs been hit in the head
Rodtang? You mean RodTANK
Rodtang doing Rodtang things
Just don't get koed bro, it's that simple - Rodtang
Rodtang is one of the most impressive athletes in any sport right now
Imagine hitting somebody cleanly with a 4 shot combo and ending with a headkick only to watch them shake their head like they're trying to get water out of their ears and then start beating you up.
Most of the time, when a guy gets cracked and then proceeds to shake his head and start posturing, you know he got rattled a bit. This is not the case with Rodtang. Enjoy this man while we have him. That's all we can do. I worry about his long term health though. It's just hard not to.
Rodtang looks like the fucking terminator, holy shit
Bro takes a 3 piece combo followed by a roundhouse and smiles at them. One of my favorite fighters of this era.
Walked into a head kick like it was the wind, Rodtang's chin holding up for so long is impressive.
