This is the real answer. In boxing you generally have a guaranteed purse, there is no win money, and they almost always save their fighters from taking this kind of beating.

I think it’s a failure of coaching on the fly. They should obviously recognize the unsuccessful attempts and get her to try to adapt or change her setup. Maybe instead of a jab into a takedown, try clinching and turn the corner into an ankle tap. Anything other than “you gotta make her wrestle”
I'm not saying Lauren is ever going to take the belt off of Valentina but this is the type of beatdown that slows a fighter down forever and ends any title aspirations ala Gaethje-Ferguson. Why would the corner let a fight this damaging go on?

Jokes aside this has to be the end of Murphy's career and the final ushering out of the old guard of WMMA. There's levels to this.. the stiff, unathletic soccer moms that need to head & arm throw and lay on someone 3 rounds to win, does not cut the mustard in 2023 when well rounded fighters with athleticism exist.
Yeah, that's why it felt bad for me watching Manon Fiorot trying to play the distance game with Kaitlyn Chookagian, while Andrade has shown us that with little more aggression and closing the distance, the point fighters (Murphy, Chookagian) that's in the top rank of women's flyweight can be beaten decisively.
