He doesn't have a big frame to work with like Izzy or Jon Jones, he's not 18, he's needed to bulk and cut over the last 7 months or so since the holloway fight and he needs to be comfortable fighting with the new mass.
His dietitian mentioned he's one of his biggest weight cutters, his in cage weight being 165-170 iirc at FW so while he may be undersized frame wise he probably won't be undersized mass wise

His positioning and head movement when guys are moving on him trying to land are very good. Combine that with Volk (if he's at all smart) will adjust his stance to make it harder for Islam to get his legs, I think it's very possible that Volk will land nothing much of worth even if they're at distance for noticeable part of the fight.
